Like a Bad Meal (V Keeps Coming Back) - THE END! 1/12/09

Awesome pix of MK and Fockerfest V !! I amsoooglad I was there inFLAT to enjoy it !! I loove Biergarten too but to be honest I don't remember if I sampled the wienersalad !! But I do like weiners and sauerkaut sooo I am sure I would like it !!I told Jo if I don't expire from the heat next May and Sept. I plan on joing 2010 Fockerfest !!!

Just as The Plan dictated, I was at the Springs bus stop at the appointed time. Waiting for the MK bus. At some point, either I checked in with T and LL or they checked in with me, but everyone else was running a teensy bit late.
I was on time, it was Waldo's fault we were late. Late for waiting for rope drop, that is. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting. :rolleyes1
Which was just fine. Because we had plenty of time. Plenty. That may well have been the longest rope drop wait I’ve ever experienced. LY T!
DUDE - that was a loooooong rope drop!

But here’s where things get interesting – the kids wanted to stick together. So much so, they worked through it without little or no prompting from us grown-ups. We just made sure everyone was okay with changes in the Plan. And it didn’t take long at all for The Plans to get tossed out the window as we all decided to ride Peter Pan first.
They were great, weren't they? The were all being considerate and gracious - a village of sweet kiddos. :thumbsup2

I’m not sure just why we were hanging around Peter Pan long enough to take a bunch of pictures, but I got all these:
Andy was parking the strollers waaaaay over by IASW, 'member?

:lmao: It looks like Waldo has 4 legs!

Wait a sec… I’m IN that last
Also, because T had virtually promised we’d find ourselves a Dream if we rode the stupid ride. Heh heh. And…
She was RIGHT!

That's right, baby! I called it - we were getting a dream! Anything but a certificate would work for me.
Let’s zoom in on that one, shall we?

Sorry LL – Leo said you span “too fast for his head to keep up!”
Sorry, Leo BUT...:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Here's the funny thing - as I stood with Andy and Tony, Tony commented on how LL would spin those kids into oblivion!

T took her turn as chaperone (okay, it’s possible that LL, Tony and I may have jumped into a car and left T with the kids.)
Yeah, that sounds more like it.

T? I loved you more than ever for saying that! You were 100% correct and I’m so glad we did it. They definitely needed a break in the action before someone got ugly.
Whew! I'm so glad no one got weirded out about that. I just felt comfortable enough to admit it was time.

In the field of marketing, it’s widely known that women can be sold pretty much anything if it comes is a tiny little package.
So true. I'm a sucker for anything miniature - itty bitty jars of peanut butter, itty bitty jars of jam. I swoon at the travel sized isle in Target. :lmao:
I love that pic! Snaggin' that one.

Actually, though, the real name is Wurst Slaad. And quite a few of my Focker friends who sampled the dish thought it aptly named. Nope, they didn’t like it. Not one bit.
I couldn't even bring myself to taste it. Blech!

We spent a lovely evening talking and I, for one, relished that. With my busy life, I have very few chances to enjoy the company of other adults with whom I share so many views, laughs and tears. That night, we started talking about mundane funny stuff and wound up talking about some pretty heavy funny stuff. As good friends do and should. :goodvibes
Dude - that was the BEST day of our vacation. That evening was the cherry on top. I get all verklempt talking about it - but I truly had an incredible time with all my DIS friends ... old and new.

Which brings me to this cautionary warning: be careful making imaginary Internet friends on the DIS. Know that they sometimes become Real. And when they do, the goodbyes are all the more difficult.
True that. True that. :goodvibes

I'm a mess thinking about the goodbyes I didn't get to say hello to.

Did that make any sense? :confused3
::yes:: :hug:

Let it be duly noted that I was early that day!
OK I have :rotfl2:

Walking down Main St., we ran into Jo and family on their way to Buzz. I’m sorry we didn’t get any rides in with you guys!
That's OK we were on a Buzz mission I think we rode it about 4 times in a row :thumbsup2

But. You’d be wrong. Michael made it abundantly clear that he found Small World “LAME!” Exclamation point.
Jess so agrees with that but we force her on it :rotfl2:

Village baybee! :goodvibes
Awwwww!

Sure enough, just like it read in T’s Plan, the Dream Squad was waiting for us as we walked out of IASW. Sure, it wasn’t a lifetime pass, nor yet a DVC membership. But it wasn’t a certificate either, so Leo and I were satisfied.
I can still remember bumping into you all just after you'd won, you were all so happy :goodvibes

Only. They tried their hardest to do the same for us. By rearranging things to make several tables of 10.
I know that mucked up the plans a bit didn't it :rotfl2:

Still, I made sure every participant left that night with a pin commemorating the occasion. It read “I ATE THE WIENER SALAD! FockerFest 2008” Heh heh.
Yeah thanks for that :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: Jess actually had someone congratulate her for eating it :rotfl:

Have I mentioned that we had fun?! Fockers… THANK YOU for making that night such a stupendous success.
Ditto

Which brings me to this cautionary warning: be careful making imaginary Internet friends on the DIS. Know that they sometimes become Real. And when they do, the goodbyes are all the more difficult.
V that was just beautiful and so true :grouphug:

Jo I went on IT"S A SMALL WORLD with the girls and they told the story like I tortured them. DD and Kyle didn't go at all ,so they still have that TREAT in store come Sept.!!:rotfl2:

:woohoo: The Dream Squad!!!! The pics are just wonderful!! Loved them all!! However, with all the talk of the wiener salad, there was no picture of this mouth-watering treat! :scared: I must admit, I've never had it, but it just sounds, well.....:scared: OK....the goodbyes were just too sweet! I have had the pleasure of meeting a few friends from the DIS & it IS a pleasure & so much fun. One of these trips, I would love to be able to meet up at the fockerfest!!!

Love the picture from the teacups! :rotfl2:

And what a sweet tribute to friendship! I definitely know that friends met in a "non-traditional way" can be true lifelong friends. In the mid-70's in the days long before the internet I had several pen pals. All but two I lost contact with but those two are dear friends who were bridesmaids in my wedding and I speak with at least weekly and often daily!

Can't wait for more V! Thank you for sharing your special time at Disney with all of us!

Aw, V...

I'm teary-eyed.

First, love the village theory. You guys must have had so much fun, and it's great that you got to spend the day together.

Secondly, well, yep. FF was amazing and wonderful and hard to end. :grouphug:

Well done, my friend.

v-- your words are beautiful!!! and i can tell they come straight from the heart!! :goodvibes

Awwwww....honey!!! Sniff, sniff...

I'm way too far behind to multi-quote, but yes - it takes a village. And it's more fun for everyone I think too. Michael can not only keep up, but when with friends, is usually AHEAD of us! He loves, loves, loves riding with his buddies!

Speaking of Michael and "loves"...it'd have broken your hearts to see Michael say goodbye to "Miss V" that last night...He seemed to throw himself into her for a tearful hug that would have made any of you cry. He absolutely adores Miss V. And Leo of course. But he was very sad upon saying goodbye to V and then by the time we dropped T & her gang off, he couldn't take the goodbye's any more:sad1: .

Oh - love the zoomed in pic of Leo's face on the teacups...heh heh...I wish I'd known ahead of time that I should have spun a little less intensely so as not to freak him out...Sorry little buddy!

Michael and I tend to see if we can spin ourselves so hard that it's difficult to walk when we get off the ride. Oh - remind me to expand on that when doing my next TR for last week's trip:rolleyes1

And the Wurst salad...yes, it's aptly named...:scared: BUT I tried it, as agreed. It's like childbirth. OMG it was scary and I'll never do it again, but it was for a good cause!:rotfl2:

The button is still on my lanyard and several people got a kick out of last week...of course all they saw initially was "I ate the weiner"...heh heh...

And yes, you should have had a warning about needing tissues at the end...:sad1: . But it was all true...and I can't wait to do it again!

Love you! Mean it!!

Hi all - I'm so sorry I haven't been able to get back here and reply properly, so I wanted to let you know I have managed to at least read your replies and I'm so appreciative of your kind words! Thank you.

Also. I really didn't mean to make everyone CRY. I really blew it on that one, huh? I'll work harder on FUNNY next time, I promise. ;)

Thanks again for reading - I'll be back!

:offtopic: ROLL TIDE!!!!

Ok, now I realize that y'all are probably gonna win, but AL has had an amazing year, so I had to have a little fun with my internet friend. ;)

Tried to get DS tickets for the game, but when I looked at the prices....:scared1: :sad2: We would even have free lodging since that is where my family lives. I told DS I had a great idea for his Christmas , but had to tell him that the cash just wasn't there to make it a reality. :sad1:

:offtopic: ROLL TIDE!!!!
DUDE, I've been waiting for you to show up with that Tide carp! :rotfl:
Ok, now I realize that y'all are probably gonna win,
Really? I'm pretty apprehensive about this game. I do think the Gators are a great team this year, but we've been playing some pretty lousy oponents. Bama's got me worried. :worried:

Still...

Bama's GATOR BAIT! :teeth:

Glad I could come through for you.

From everything I hear around here, we are considered the underdog. Which is a good thing sometimes. Now you do realize I'm not the BAMA fan, it's really my son, but I had to post that on his behalf. :rolleyes1 I have to say that I have been "pulled in" this year by all the hype. :upsidedow They have had several really bad years, so it is good to finally see them do well. Oh, and I told him that I had to "taunt" my imaginary friend who was a GATOR fan. :rolleyes1

Now, you know I really love you V! We just have to have a little friendly "trash talk". ::yes::

V: Just read the FF update.

Can I just say that it was a complete and utter pleasure to be a part of FF? I loved meeting everyone and the goodbyes were hard here too.

Neither Bob or I will ever forget that long weekend. It was such a great time! Who knew that 30+ internet friends could tear away such a hunk of my heart?

Thanks for writing it so well.

MEL:banana:

Congrats to your GATORS!!!

Never let it be said that I'm not a good sport! :snooty:

Actually it was a really good game.....until the end! ;)
