Like a Bad Meal (V Keeps Coming Back) - THE END! 1/12/09

Isn't that Edy's place the BEST?!?! :thumbsup2 They don't skimp on their ice cream...you get an actual human sized serving.

Glad the hair is working. I'm due to get mine cut (must before August). Your's looks super cute.

OMGosh. It's like reading a conversation with my mother. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Mine too! Oy vey. :faint:

Come on V...the heat won't be THAT bad:rolleyes1

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

So that's what I need to do to have a good picture of me.

Sure enough, the top of his head was just visible above Bruce’s teeth. He’s NEVER been willing to get in there for that classic Bruce photo-op, so I had my camera out in a flash. But he was too low! A wonderful dad in line with his child behind Leo gave my boy a boost and we got this:

2449573372_1f7f653011.jpg
How nice of that dad! :cool1: Cute photo of Leo too!

THIS from the woman who can watch DLR fireworks from her backyard.
Yes, but it's just not the same. I've tasted the Kool-aid and that's not good! :rolleyes1

Um T how can you be jealous of V when you go to DL ALL the time????? :rotfl:
See above post Jo. Oh and you're not off the hook either. I'm jealous you get 14 days in WDW and I only get 10. :snooty:

:lmao:
My Hair was in rare form, behaving as it only does at WDW. And this is good! I think the water’s a bit softer there than at home and it really encourages the curl. Styling that morning was a snap – a little Redken Outshine 01 Polishing Milk, a quick zap of the blow-dryer on my roots, and I was good-to-go. :thumbsup2
Might I recommend the Jonathan products water softener for your shower at home. :teeth: It does wonders for curly hair!

Anyway, as I stood there, wondering what Leo and I should do with the rest of our day, My Hair looked good.
Dude, I love your hair issues! :lmao:

T had it right, we chose the Poly! On our way over via monorail, I called boysmom5150, also known as T2, to let her know where we’d be. I got her voicemail and left a message, hoping we’d find each other at the Poly.
I win!! :woohoo:

I love the Poly. Love it, love it, love it. I can’t even put my finger on why, so just know that I do. I instantly relax upon entering those sliding doors, even when the lobby is full and buzzing with activity. That particular morning, though, there was little activity and the Poly was even more stress-reducing than ever. Perfect! :cloud9:
:cloud9: Ditto, my friend. To me, it's the ultimate vacation... the relaxing, laid back feeling of Hawaii and the exitement of all the Disney parks just outside your door! I can't wait to go back!

Awww... so sweet! :goodvibes

2449573192_e1eea83b1c.jpg

Not quite what I had in mind.
:lmao: Classic!

T2, I’m still sorry and hope I get the chance to meet up with you again down the road!
Bummer!!! T2 is on my "must meet" list! Someday, I'm sure. ;)

I just love this pictures - the face on Leo is precious, V.

I think I am the only person in the world who isn't enamoured with the Poly:confused3

What's WRONG with you good woman! :headache:
;)

We’re not sloppy-drunk

No such thing as sloppy-drunk. It's just that sometimes, the earth tilts off his axis and it just happens to coincide when we're drinking. It results in all sorts of bad things - stumbling, slurring, drunk dialing.

Ok. Maybe not that last one.

This is such a great pic of you guys!

Budding photographer, he is. :yoda:

I LOVED the original Living Seas. I used to look forward to “BWWWWWOMMMMBBB! The Deluge.” I thought the Hydrolaters were da bomb. And I liked the open ride across the sea-floor.

You already know from my pre-trippie that I agree with you on this one. And what's funny is that every time we go to a movie at this certain theatre, during the "Please silence your cell phones" message, the music they play reminds me SO MUCH of the original (and beloved) Living Seas music in the "waiting room" before you went into the movie.

2449573372_1f7f653011.jpg

That just about made my day! (NOClint Eastwood)

AWESOME! :thumbsup2

Hey chicky. Can't wait for the next trip! :flower3:

Always rrom for more Jen

I wish Mo! But...I need to save my money...I may be buying a new "home" very soon! ;)

Dang...can he get any stinkin' cuter?

Of course, I first had to bribe him with one of these:

2449572600_e7b4b62317.jpg

Bribe doesn't sound as good as edible incentive! :teeth:

The trip to EP was uneventful – we were just enjoying the monorail rides. When we entered EP, I asked Leo to take a picture of me in front of the Big Ball and the Flower & Garden Fest topiaries…

2449573192_e1eea83b1c.jpg

Not quite what I had in mind.

I always tell Jon to cut off my bottom half. My head is my skinny part. :rotfl2:

What a lovely end to a great day! And the day was a lovely end to our short trip. Leo and me – we need those weekends with each other, away from home. We love and adore Gramma, but sometimes, we need to reconnect, the two of us, and I’m so glad WDW is there for us to do so. I’ve joked in the past that WDW has become like a “lake home” for me – a home-away-from-home at which to spend the occasional weekend. But that analogy would become more and more accurate as 2008 continued
.

Mommies and their sons...I undahstand sistah! :)

Perfect way to start my Saturday morning. A good cup of coffee and a couple of updates to one of my favorite trip report series! :)

MANY TFW members will be hitting WDW in late August for a big meet. Over Wiener Salad. And Margaritas.

:crazy2:

I gotta say that does not sound appetizing. But I'm sure the company will more than make up for it!!

MNSSHP on Halloween itself? Awesome! :worship:

The 3rd annual Eat Through The World, also known as Epcot’s Food & Wine Fest. Sorta like the Run for the Roses. Only slower. And a lot more caloric. He/she who gains the most pounds over a 24 hour period wins.
I took the roses last year at a whopping 4+.

I've been wondering about how much I can expect to gain. 4 in 24 hours... imagine what I can do with 5 days!? :scared1:

Oh Gramma, too funny! Seriously, she secretly likes Disney World.

Perfect! :cloud9:

Would you believe I haven't been to the Poly since a luau sometime in the 80's? :confused3 Planning on rectifying that in October. Have a pilgrimage scheduled to try the mythical Lapu-Lapu, which I believe I learned about from you :rolleyes1

Great photos of you two at Captain Cooks!!

LOVE this picture. Too cute!!!

We chose ice cream and wound up at the new Edy’s place that faces the Fountain of Nations.
Looks yummy. It's going on my list, which is mostly food and beverage... very few rides!

No such thing as sloppy-drunk. It's just that sometimes, the earth tilts off his axis and it just happens to coincide when we're drinking.
Perfectly plausible explanation. I'll keep that in mind for October!

Okay...i'm going to stop lurking and post!

I totally agree with you V! Busch Gardens Tampa is so much better than AK. Although I've only been to each park once, particularly when it comes to viewing animals I'd go with BGT.

Side note involving hair: The year that I went to BGT my DS and I went on this behind-the-scenes tour so I could feed the giraffes. DS got a great pic (don't have it on my computer) and my newly dyed red hair matched the color of the giraffe I was feading.

Anyway, as I stood there, wondering what Leo and I should do with the rest of our day, My Hair looked good.
You do make me laugh with your hair talk, glad it was behaving itself :thumbsup2

Leo and I made our way down to Capt. Cooks and found that, while the touch-screen ordering system was out of service, there was no wait and we placed our order for one Grown-Up Grilled Cheese and one kid’s “cheese hamburger.” Leo’s name, not the Poly’s. It was a beautiful day, so we chose the outdoor seating area for our repast. As usual, the food was delicious.
I would never think to go to one of the monorail resorts for CS :thumbsup2

Very good, I can't see what's wrong :rotfl:

T2, I’m still sorry and hope I get the chance to meet up with you again down the road!
Oh no, I hope you do meet up one day!

A wonderful dad in line with his child behind Leo gave my boy a boost and we got this:

2449573372_1f7f653011.jpg
Great photo V and how kind of the Dad :goodvibes

Oh and you're not off the hook either. I'm jealous you get 14 days in WDW and I only get 10. :snooty:

:lmao:
Well errrrrr we have jetlag to get over and ummmm it costs a fortune and ummmm it's stupidly hot for us Brits :rotfl2:

Princess V:

October 2008

This is a new mini-trip on my calendar, brought about by my desire to finally meet a fellow DISer, Michelle. When I looked at Michelle’s dates, trying to find a weekend day on which I could drive over to see her, I noticed some interesting things…

Halloween is on a Friday this year.

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is being presented ON Halloween.

I have Leo that weekend.

Michelle and family will be in The World.

I’m sure you can imagine where this information led…. straight to the Visa which purchased three tickets to MNSSHP. Yes, you heard me – THREE tickets. Gramma decided she wants in on this one. More to come on the October trip.

Hi V, I purchased tickets for Mickey's Trick or Treat Halloween Party in DL for our group...its going to be a blast...now back to our regularly scheduled program

How nice of that dad! :cool1: Cute photo of Leo too!

Ditto...great pic with Leo in the shark

We had a nice family of wild mallard ducks living in our backyard when I was growing up, they are so cute an we had them eating out of our hands(these were wild...the female boke her wing and they mate for life so the male was easy to catch cause he wouldnt leave her even though he could fly away) about a year latter we took them to a freinds farm with a big pond our washtub wasnt big enough after the babies were starting to get big.

This is a child-free trip and will involve much drink-induced revelry. We’re not sloppy-drunk, mind you, but we are a large group and we tend to be pretty high on life. So add a few little samples of wine and a whole lotta food and you get some serious fun with us.

PM me, I'm not a crazy stalking moderator--I promise. I will be with my dh-doing the same thing, but probably sitting in the UK Maze Garden, listening to the Beatles and switching back to Off Kilter. It can be done between 1 and 5 p.m. It would really be neat to cross paths, or is it what they call a mini DIS meet.

And that’s where it was left. Until last night. When something told me to ask again. And, lo and behold, she decided that she does want to join us in December. But only because it’s a short trip. She doesn’t like those “long” trips of 4-5 days.

So that’s what’s stirring on the horizon. In addition to a trip taken in May I still need to cover. Stay tuned.
:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: You gotta love it!!:rotfl2:
Love that pic!!
Love the bribe!! :rotfl:
Next trip: A Weekend WITHOUT Leo!
That will be different for you!

What a great way to end a trip! You got a lot of cute pictures in this last installement. I especially love the one of you & Leo and the one of Leo in the shark. Though Leo's shot of you at Epcot is pretty special! ;) LOL!

V-

Wow so many trips planned. You have made many of us jealous for that. Not for putting up with the Florida Heat for the rest of the year.;)

Leo is such a cutie patootie! Gotta love his camera skills. He gets an A for effort in my book.

Will you PM your Dec. dates? If we are missing each other again...I will be so sad. ::yes::

I can't wait to read about the next trip. Without little Leo man and all.

Sheesh - someone should really get over here and do some replies. Oh wait, that would be me! Sorry - things got away from me!

Leo's picture of you reminds me of the FIRST picture I ever took.. it was of MY MOM and hea I CUT OFF HER HEAD TOO !!
:rotfl2: I was always pretty good at keeping people's head intact, but I often chopped off feet.

You make me really wanna push for that October trip again...I have to work on KC a bit tho...
::yes::

IT is so great that you and Leo are able to have your mommy and me time:goodvibes
I agree, and we really need it. He's gone every other weekend, and I share him with Gramma most of the rest of the time.

Isn't that Edy's place the BEST?!?! :thumbsup2
Yes and no.... it was great, but not quite as good as when it served pastries and lattes. I looooved their choc. mousse!
Glad the hair is working. I'm due to get mine cut (must before August). Your's looks super cute.
Thank you! Sadly, it's met some misfortune since then. :(

How nice of that dad! :cool1: Cute photo of Leo too!
Thanks! Yeah, it was such a nice thing to notice and help with.
See above post Jo. Oh and you're not off the hook either. I'm jealous you get 14 days in WDW and I only get 10. :snooty:
Yeah well, I'm jealous Jo gets 14 days, you get 10 and I only get 3ish! :rotfl:
Might I recommend the Jonathan products water softener for your shower at home. :teeth: It does wonders for curly hair!
I might give that a try - I've tried the filters from Home Depot and they didn't do much more than cut my water pressure. :headache:
:cloud9: Ditto, my friend. To me, it's the ultimate vacation... the relaxing, laid back feeling of Hawaii and the exitement of all the Disney parks just outside your door! I can't wait to go back!
ITA! And, i may need some intervention on that very subject. Need new AC, NOT a night at the Poly. Right?????

No such thing as sloppy-drunk. It's just that sometimes, the earth tilts off his axis and it just happens to coincide when we're drinking. It results in all sorts of bad things - stumbling, slurring, drunk dialing.
LOL, works for me!

I wish Mo! But...I need to save my money...I may be buying a new "home" very soon! ;)
Woooo hooooO!

I gotta say that does not sound appetizing. But I'm sure the company will more than make up for it!!
Know what? not to me, either. I love margaritas. And I lvoe Wiener Salad. But. Not together. Bleeeh.

Okay...i'm going to stop lurking and post!
Yay - thanks for coming out of lurkdom! :yay:
DS got a great pic (don't have it on my computer) and my newly dyed red hair matched the color of the giraffe I was feading.
Oh no! Reds are tricky - BT/DT!

I would never think to go to one of the monorail resorts for CS :thumbsup2
I highly recommend it! Nice break form the action and some yummy offerings. i also like the GF and WL for this.
Oh no, I hope you do meet up one day!
We did lsat May, member? At MGM with Mo. ::yes:: But we really need to again. :worried:

Ditto...great pic with Leo in the shark
Thanks - I love that one!

LOL, I know you're not a crazy stalker and I'd love to catch up with you! I'll definitely PM you with details :thumbsup2

That will be different for you!
::yes:: And it was, on so many levels!

What a great trip you and Leo had! And I'm so jealous of all your upcoming trips!
Aw, thank you! But don't be too jealous - remember, the trade-off is endless months of heat and hurricane scares. Joy. :headache:

You got a lot of cute pictures in this last installement. I especially love the one of you & Leo and the one of Leo in the shark. Though Leo's shot of you at Epcot is pretty special! ;) LOL!
Yeah, it's "special" all right! :rotfl:

Wow so many trips planned. You have made many of us jealous for that. Not for putting up with the Florida Heat for the rest of the year.;)
I rest my case. ;)
Will you PM your Dec. dates? If we are missing each other again...I will be so sad. ::yes::
Absolutely. Here's hoping for some overlap!

ITA! And, i may need some intervention on that very subject. Need new AC, NOT a night at the Poly. Right?????

You know, the Poly HAS A/C. There you go, 2 birds, 1 stone... TAH-DAH!!!:cool1:

Oh, you meant at home... :scratchin:
