Me too Wendy !!!He'll have to wait for the "pee" and "pole" pix till January!!!:lmao:Wendy and possibly Cherie do you remember what Jordan liked at the stores in the world cuz for sure I will get something in October !! I remember him pointing out lots of goodies but for the life of me I can't remember them !!!:confused3

He has mentioned the wasabi peas....

This is a great idea Rosie! I'll pick something up for him in September as well. Hopefully I choose something he likes.

Thanks so much for keeping us updated Wendy! :thumbsup2 I'm sure with all the lives Jordan has touched her on the DIS he won't lack for letters of encouragement to help get him through this. If you know of any items he particularly likes that can be included in a care package (snacks, foodie items), please let us know!

Totally missed the boat on this one.... I hope it's not too late to get Jordo's address :worship: I've still been following along but not posting as much as I should :sad2: I'm so sad I missed the chance to wish Jordan a fond farewell.

Not too late. Wendy posted the addy for Jordan a couple pages back, and put a link to it on page 1, in the Table of Contents post.

Any more Jordan goodies ideas !!!???????I have waasaabi peas !!!! Onthe list I mean not actually have:lmao: I think it is intirely posible that Jordan may be known as the SNACKMAN at his program as I have a feeling his Dis friends will keep him well supplied !!!;)

Thanks for the update, Wendy. I'm sure Jordan will be well taken care of by all his DIS family and friends. And thanks for the info regarding care packages. :)

Hi all,

Ok - here's the deets on Jordan.

Heard from him today and he's settling in well. Met Darrell (the guy that was checking him in) there last night who took him around the campus and helped him settle in. He's currently in a room of 16 guys (think army bunks, I guess... :confused3) and after 2-3 months, he can possibly move to a room of 4 guys (after evaluation). Also, he can always get moved back to the larger room if it's necessary, so it sounds like they have regular evaluations.

He is only supposed to make/receive 2 phone calls a day, so if you need to call him, PM me and I'll give you his phone number (it's to the pay phone in the main room, so he may or may not answer or be there depending on the time of day). So for now, it's probably best not to call him, but rather write him. He did say that if you did want to call him on a particular day, it would be good to write him and ask him if X day / time is good and then he can write back and let you know... but probably it's best to limit contact to snail mail for now as most of his phone calls will be made to family for the near future (not that you're not "family" but you know what I mean... :))

Regarding care packages: he can receive them, but please note that they go through each and every thing in the package so do not include anything that is even slightly questionable (read: no peeing pictures, D.Jay, and no pole pictures, Cherie! Hee hee.) even if we think it's funny, it's probably not the best thing. ;) They're good on toiletries and such, but because he, as well as many of the other guys there are going through financial hardships, he said they appreciate snacks and other foodie items (non perishable - they don't have a lot of refrigerator space), and CDs or other inspirational items, and if you are feeling especially generous, Wal-Mart gift cards are greatly coveted.... :worship:

Please note: NO reading material (books, magazines, etc.) - even Christian materials - they really limit what they can read at this point so even if you sent it, it probably wouldn't get through. Letters of course are ok... so for now, I think it's best even to limit printouts of PTRs or TRs until Jordan says that's acceptable. I'll let you know when I find out... I don't think he knows everything just yet, so I'll let him acclimate first before inquiring.

Also, he's not able to hang anything on the walls, so nothing that would need to be posted/mounted.

So although we were fearful that it would be 100% detox from Jordan, we will hopefully still hear from him periodically so we won't have to wait the whole 6 months. :woohoo:

Until then, carry on and keep those prayers coming. :littleangel:

Thanks for all your support and will keep you posted. :surfweb:

Wendy

Ok, first, thanks Wendy for the updates and keep 'em comming.
Second, how are my adopted nephew and neices doing?
Third, you didn't mention anything about burping and farting so maybe I will make up some sample cards like they give away in the French perfume store. There would be Eau 'd Burped Broccoli :guilty:, Aire 'd Biscuit :sad2:, Stenche de la Pew , and of course, Eau d' Toilette . Maybe we could also send him some small fans from the Japan pavilion at WS so that he doesn't have to use his hands to wave away the escaped air. :confused3 I sure hope he doesn't have too many altitude changes. :scared1:
Fourth, I think there needs to be a JAA board set up for those of us who will be needing the Jordan's Absence Anonymous meetings, mediation, and meditation. :lmao::lmao:

I have wasabi peas and Pocky on my shopping list for the World in September. Just let us know what else he might like and I'll make sure we get those, too.

Thanks so much for the updates, Wendy!!!

Step 1: Acknowledge that Jordan will be gone for 6 months or more. :sad1:

Step 2: Define altitude change and what it really means to you.

Step 3: Wave... Nuff said. :wave2:

Step 4: Recognize the phraze "Oh, no honey!" and what it stands for. :scared1:

Step 5: Comment on each post individually instead of multi-posting. It helps move things along. :surfweb:

Step 6: PFOOF! :rolleyes1

Step 7: Visit YouTube, looking for videos of Jordan, including the ones where he gets hurt the most.

Step 8: Enjoy a great day at a water park. :woohoo:

Step 9: Visit Wendy, Derek, and clan to reminisce about good times.

Step 10: Go to a bar and get drunk people stories to share with the world.

Step 11: Take pictures of sleeping people in strange and unusual places.

Step 12: Welcome Jordan back because he won't be gone very long even though he will be missed while he is gone. :flower: :grouphug:   :lovestruc

When he gets back we will all be on :cloud9:. Don't forget to keep sending him prayers, love, and letters.

Wendy, thanks for the update! I'm glad we know the rules now. It would be really hard to go through that program. We will all definately be praying for him and writing, etc.

DJay - you are just too funny! I am thinking we need to post past pics to keep reminding us of all the fun our leader brings to this group.
