Lightning lane usage question for park hoppers - expired selection and TT3.0

That's interesting that you got a couple of green Mickeys outside of the 2 hour grace period. The 5 minute early rule is still in place but the 15 minute late rule was changed to 119 minutes about a year ago. And if Mickey turns green then you're still within the rules and have nothing to worry about.
I’m of the to be early is to be on time; to be on time is to be late; to be late is unacceptable mindset, so the 2-hour rule really messes with me. Sure, it’s fine, but I feel so rude doing it!

Note: These were LLSP, not LLMP. Those sometimes (but not guaranteed) behave differently because guest has paid for a single attraction.

Best practice is to use LLMP and LLSP within return window if at all possible. There is no guarantee a CM will grant access to attraction outside the return window.

It sounds like your family moves around at about the same speed that mine does. We found that the extended grace period made our most recent visit much more stress free than usual as there was never any concern about hurrying from attraction to attraction based on the return windows.

Sky's examples for green Mickeys beyond the 2 hour grace period were
for Speedway and Teacups which are both LLMP.

100% agree! I hated using them late. It just felt wrong, even if it’s technically okay.

Think of the return windows like the Pirate Code. They're more like guidelines than actual rules.

Ironically, the 15-minute grace period was printed in military time on the original paper fast passes about 25 years ago but haven't been officially published since then. They weren't enforced back then either.

So is the below no accurate? I just read this recently and saw it in action on a popular youtube channel. It's very possible I misunderstood.

1) If a LLMP expires at 10:00AM then the light will still turn green up to 11:59AM.
2) Once a LLMP expires, you can actually go ahead and book another LLMP even though that 1h59m grace period is intact. So in the case of #1, I could actually go ahead and book another LLMP at ~10:00?

Is this correct?

1) is true. 2) I doubt though it might be true then, but I haven't got any LLMP truly expired the latest trip.
Say you book one valid 9:00 to 10:00AM, at least around 11AM, it is not labeled as "expired". You are late for the window but you can still use it. I don't know if it will "expire 12:00PM. If it indeed expired, meaning you can no longer use it, then you can book another LLMP (which I know is probably not informative...)

Just to report back my experience. It wasn't last weekend thus probably only reflect off-peak season.

Other LLMP attractions other than TT can be walk-on close to the end of EEH, so I don’t feel like buying LLMP as “LLSP for TT”. I will see if the wait time of TT is still insane during EEH.
I did not end up in the queue for TT3.0 during EEH. It said 40min so I did Frozen and Remy.
Don't forget that TT also has a Single Rider line open most days. Even it the wait time is listed high for TT it is often a much shorter wait near the end of EEH.

I was able to refresh in the middle day (around 2:50 pm) and get one (not two) LLMP for TT on Sunday. But it was closed most of the time the rest of the day due to rain or something else.
The other day, we got LLMP for TT and it turned out Single Rider is indeed fast. Essentially, the Single Rider lane is next to LL lane for TT. It took similar amount of time compared to LL. (if wait for LL is 20min, single rider is ~20min, no more than 25, when the displayed time is 80). The person enter the queue the same time sit next to me. I did the single rider another time and the observation is the same. Though you are more likely to sit on the back row from single rider lane (because for each vehicle, 2 rows, 3 seat per row, single riders fill the remaining seats). But it doesn't bother me at all.
