Lightning Lane pre-purchase advantage

What are the advantages and disadvantages to getting LL with my tickets for a July visit. I know I may decide I didn't need it on one day. I'm wondering if there is a discount to getting them with tickets and can the price increase between now and July? And what is the current price increase from pre-purchase to daily purchase.

Daily purchase does cost more, I think around $4-8 a person? So not a ton. We added it purely because it seemed easier to justify the cost when I included in in the tickets, I knew if we had to buy it every day I'd see the ~$150 a day for our family and decide not to buy it.

I'm still trying to figure out getting the LL when I purchase our 4 day ph in the next few days. The first day we (me and 9 year old granddaughter) won't get to the DLR until about 1:30 on Saturday, July 5. Do you think the LL would be helpful at this point for DL? I thought we might do F! that night so no rides after 8:00.

Honestly I don’t know that it would be worth it that day if you’re only gonna use them from 1:30-8. You can’t start booking LLs until you enter the park and with it being a Saturday in July a lot of the return times will be way out in the future and you’ll have to wait 2 hours to book another one

Advantages: you lock in the cheapest price ahead of time (when we bought our tickets for next month we paid $30 per day for LL and now it’s $36 per day) and once you scan into the park you can immediately book your first LL which is really nice if you’re doing rope drop and in a rush and don’t wanna be on your phone lol

Disadvantages: as you said you may decide you didn’t need it but I have bought LL lots of times and honestly never regretted getting it. Just try to use your LLs when the park is most crowded in the middle of the day if you can and prioritize the really big ones (Space, Tiana’s, Guardians, Soarin’, etc)

I would get it. There will be plenty available at 2. Saturdays in July are actually some of the best days of the year to visit with pretty low crowds.

You could always just see what the return times are like once you get there that day. If return times are really soon then you can do a lot from 1:30-8 but if you can only book something once every 2 hours because the return times are backed up that’s a lot of money for just a couple rides that it’s necessary for

DH and I will be coming in on the 4th of July with a 4 day hopper and we decided to just buy LL when we get there. The first day will be later afternoon/ evening so we're not going to get LL that day and just enjoy what we can, maybe parade and a few rides. Another day we get together with family that lives close by and have dinner, so we may not get LL that day, but we can decide when we get there. Otherwise we have gotten the LL with DL tickets in the past. Have fun, we'll be there during the same time as you!
