hi
i hope it works for you, i didnt find a hard diet to follow as long as you dont cheat. I broke my diet for the xmas (only 2 days) when i was on it and it really made it very hard after that.

good luck and i hope you reach your goal, i must admit that i do regret not reaching my goal.

good luck and let us know how you get on

I have no info about this diet-but just wanted to inform you of a mum i know who's daughter goes to my daughters school.
She 2 was on this diet, and yes she lost weight-alot of it.But she also lost some of her hair, became dizzy everytime she stood up.Could no longer run or play with her daughter, felt very weak+tired. One day she passed out+her 6yr daughter had to ring for an ambulance. She ended up in hospital for a 2 weeks. She had+still has some of these problems- gallstones, problems with her liver, problems with her blood pressure, alopecia. She now has counselling once a week as she is 'scared' of food.
I know not everyone will have this happen to them-but on reading these comments on here the bad far more outweigh the good, surely that should tell anyone considering this diet that it's not all it's cracked up to be!!.x.

Hi Kellie,
See it effects people in different ways-good job you did'nt lose your hair. But it seems that the overall outcome of this diet is'nt good at all.The mum i know(who i was talking about)she does'nt even like to really leave the house much now because of the alopecia, she's very embarrased.I don't see her very often now,but do talk to her on the phone. She is in a terrible way-mentally.x.

I mentioned in my previous post about gall stones. All related to rapid weight loss. Lets just say I paid a private doctor who was recommendedby lighter life counsellor to sign the doctor's note as my doctor said no. He didnt agree with it. For many other health reasons due to diet.

My brother did this last year and lost lots of weight. The first time I saw him I cried as he looked so different - it was such a shock!

Within 10 minutes of my jaw hitting the floor I realised he looked 10 years younger and looked amazing - the best he's looked in years.

That was just over a year ago and since then he's only put a few pounds back on. He eats really well Mon - Friday and then just eats what the rest of his family eat on a weekend just so he doesn't feel deprived.

Its really worked for him. Having said that I couldn't do it as I like the pleasure of eating too much and so would rather eat healthy meals and no snacking than a liquid drink!

so good to hear that he has kept the weight off

i really need to lose another 2 1/2 stone before my holiday in july and lighterlife would be the answer, but i just cant seem to bring myself to do it again. i struggled with the bordom as i only liked 2 of the milkshakes and hated the soups and bars.

i think because i now have such a bad relationship with food i really need to try to lose it sensibly to prove to myself that i can do it.

i think what works for one person might not work for another but we all have to try, and we will find what works for us.
i hope whatever people decide to do works well and they lose the weight they want

If I were to recommend just one "diet" book to read regarding your relationship with food it would be Jason Vale's Slim 4 life.

I read this book about a month ago and it all just made complete sense. Since then I haven't touched chocolate or biscuits which were my downfall and have just eaten really heathly meals and snacked on nuts, fruit & juices. Before reading the book I never would have given up biscuits for this long - but the thing is I can have them when ever I want - I just don't want them.

Studies show that something like 97% of all dieters will regain any weight lost (regardless of how it was lost).

I've recently purchased The Slow Down Diet by Marc David. He's a respected and experienced nutritionist with a degree in the psychology of eating. He's even worked with the Walt Disney Corporation :teeth:. I can't vouch for its effectiveness yet, but what he says certainly makes a lot of sense and, if it's true, I can forget about dieting forever. I was never overweight until my first pregnancy, but ever since I've been the archetypal yo-yo dieter. I've spent most of my adult life in a state of overweight misery. If eating less and exercising more was the long-term answer, it would have worked long ago, wouldn't it?
