Light Strike vs Lazer Tag--Anyone have these?

I saw on DS10's Christmas list he had written down 'Light Strike.' I had no idea what it was, but googled it to find out. Here it is on the TRU page with it's commercial: light strike

I remember seeing this Lazer Tag set at Sam's Club awhile back: LazerTag

Anyone have either of them? Or another type that you like better? I want to make sure I pick the right one and get the most bang for my buck. (Yeah, bad pun. Sorry.)

My DS11 is getting Light Strikers for Christmas. He did not ask for them but I found them at the Toys R Us website on ordered them on cyber Monday. I think he will really like them (I ordered 2 so his dad can play with him). Since he likes Nerf I think he will really be into it. I also don't want to pick up the Nerf darts everywhere!! From what I understand you do not need the accessories (like vest etc) to play with the guns so I just ordered the guns. Sounds like your son may really enjoy these too! I just happened upon them online (and they aren't too cheap) and hope DS11 will like it--he is getting hard to buy for (and am tired of all the video games)!!

Yeah, sometimes it's hard to know what they'll like. (Or what they'll actually play with vs. what just looks cool on the TV commercials!)

Be advised with stuff like this, he asked for a particular one, that could be the one that 85 of the other kids in the neighborhood has. Thus, trying to go for the most bang for your buck isn't always the cheapest option. 85 kids with Light Strike and 1 kid with LazerTag, the 1 kid with lazerTag is left out making it no bang for your buck.

He asked for Light Strike, that's what I would get.
