Light sleepers & sharing a room

Does anyone have experience/advice about a family of 5 sharing a room when some of them are light sleepers? Me, DH, DD5, DD3 & DS1 will be doing Disney for the kids' first time in January. I very much want to stay on the monorail because of DS's nap schedule and the need to give DDs some quiet time. However -- will anyone really sleep or get quiet time in one room? I'm not so much worried about bedtime -- turn out the lights, they pretty much conk out -- but how have other people handled one kid who naps and two who don't? Do they all just bounce off the walls? (It's January, so the pool will be a questionable option.) I'm leaning toward two rooms, but DH sees the price tag & says I'm nuts!

Any input about this, as well as which monorail resort you'd recommend for a family this age, is much appreciated!

When we last went, DH took our oldest to the game room, etc. at night while I layed down in the dark quiet room for the other 3 to fall asleep. Once they were asleep, as long as we weren't too loud, we could turn back on the TV. My kids napped in their strollers during the day, but it might work as well then also. I found that around their usual nap time, if I just started pushing them around, and went in shops and such they just fell asleep on their own. DH took the other 2 on more rides during this time. I was able to do some shopping without wasting any park time! Next time we go nap time is over, unless my then 4 year old twins just happen to fall asleep on their own from pure exhaustion.

When we travel, we usually bring one of those sleep machines to drown out the noise. I have a 5 yr old who still naps and when I place that sleeper on the nightstand or pillow, it helps just enough so that she can rest without hearing her sister or the tv in the background. I also like it because when I want to sleep in the morning I don't hear all the other guests getting up early and walking by.

There's no reason for the other two to have to be in the room while the one naps. If one adult can handle the other two on their own, just take them for a monorail trip around to the other resorts. Take the monorail to the TTC or the Grand Floridian (can't remember which way the resort monorail goes). Then get off and walk. You can walk all the way from the TTC to the Grand Floridan (or reverse). TTC to the Ploynesian via the walkway that is marked. Walk through the Polynesian and their beach and pool area, over to the Luau Cove, then down to the Wedding Pavilion, then to the Grand Floridian. The kids can't swim at the beaches but they can sure play in the sand. Then just take the monorail back to the Contemporary. Or, you can take the monorail over to Epcot and back. Or return to Magic Kingdom for just a few things. Ride the Disney transportation boats around. There's nothing to stop you from taking the monorail to the TTC and then taking the ferry boat over to Magic Kingdom. Go to Fort Wilderness. I don't think the kids will be bouncing off the walls.
