Busted and Disgusted is how I felt when my October travel buddy, she called me 2 days before the trip and said she could not go! The good news is, her dh gets to come home before shipping out to Iraq. Im not mad at her, and I kind of felt like a spoiled brat since we just got back from the repo cruise, so I was determined not to wine or mourn this trip. Besides, who would feel sorry for me?;)

Never mind that my AP expires on Oct 9th, We had nonstop air for $135 RT(booked months ago), we were booted from AKV concierge into BCV concierge (after much protest) and it was F&WF, oh! and we found a convertible for $200! Due to a work schedule change (while I was away on the repo!) I ended up with a 4 day weekend to boot!

Well I decided to go solo. I was still dragging and not wanting to pack and decided to just take carry on. I have an ownerslocker and have yet to complete my inventory, but it is chock full so I knew I should be ok. I was tired and really didnt feel like packing after just getting unpacked from our last trip. ( I know, horrible life!)

Great flight, arrived 20 min early. My car was at National. No line at National, HUGE line at ME!:scared1: I considered skipping the car and taking ME, but the line was scary. I knew that solo I would not venture out much if at all. The thought of digging for change while going 80mph through a toll booth(without DH or anyone else to help me) won out and I cancelled my highly anticipated convertible for the horrid ME line. The line actually moved pretty quickly, although they did have trouble locating my ressie due to the switch from AKV to BCV. It was showing up on my account online, but I guess that clears out the day of checkin because I pulled up my account online and no ressie.

On the way to BCV, our ME bus stopped at CBR and BWV to let off guests.

Charlton checked me in at BCV and my room was ready. He was very nice and helped with the concierge access issue.
On second thought, I should not have accepted the ready room. He did explain it was on ground floor, but I was so tired and excited, I just wanted to take a nap. My room was 170, ground level facing the canal walkway to the parking lot. I was very close to the parking lot, which made me nervous being solo, so I went out on the patio to wait for my luggage and after that, I locked the door and pulled the shades for the rest of the trip. The recent snake thread did not help matters either:scared1:

I took a nap and around 4pm headed out to Epcot. ........more to come

I would have joined you;)

Anyway, have a good time solo. It's a trip I've thought of doing, leaving DH and family at home to enjoy what I like without the whining/complaining.

Glad to hear you decided to go after all. My DH would have pulled strings to makes SURE he got to go if someone else cancelled!

:goodvibes I think we were there for the same ME line! I was in shock, but it turned out to move pretty quickly!

Hope you are having fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to hear more!!!

Generally speaking ground floor rooms make me a little nervous. But I'd so deal with that to be at the World right now.

All the work you went to, but al least your Travel Buddy did have a good reason. Husband getting to come home for a few day before deploying...pretty good reason. Hope you have a good trip!

Thank you all for the kind words!

I am glad I went. I may make this an annual trip!

After my nap, I walked to Epcot and immediately was summoned in line for an Australian wine tasting. They were decent and strong but the Australian winemaker pretty much told us that Americans have unsophistacated palettes and we think Yellowtail is the best wine out of Aus. Most people drank their free wine and hightailed it out as soon as he finished:rotfl:

A little further up to America and the line was starting to form for the Starship concert. I jumped in because I am afterall, an 80's music fan.

Show was great! They sang Sarah, We Built this City, Somebody to Love, and Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now. I sat right up front:wizard:

Left Epcot before the fireworks and walked back to BCV. I had concierge access and the lounge is very convenient to the main lobby so I really enjoyed stopping by concierge on my way in or out.

The service was great and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. I only received access to concierge, no other perks or gift baskets or cleanings, but since DVC refunded my points, I didnt really expect anything else.

I actually made out, since I did not have to move after 1 night and BCV was a great location and now I can say I've tried Concierge at another resort on points.

Owner's Locker Report,

I will say it again, I love my locker!

I dont have a list yet, but I have to sit on it to get the top on, it's so full!

It was so easy, I scheduled my locker online, packed my carryons (not a drop of liquid) and flew into MCO. I flew Airtran and they still allow first bag free but I did not want to check anything.

I originally had a car booked, but being solo, I did not want to drive alone or go offsite so i cancelled. Again, I knew I had everything in my locker and would not need to stop for anything, so I cancelled my car at the National desk and took ME. Saved $100 right there not including gas or tolls. Would have taken the car if I needed to stop for toiletries, etc.

BCV alerted me at checkin that my locker was attached to my reservation and would be delivered to my room.

After an evening at F&W, I decided to stay in and picked a movie from the Marketplace.

I love the SSR spa and decided to have a Spa and Movie night. I had everything in my locker I needed! It was like a gift from my past self to my future self! :rotfl: I had body scrub, foot scrub, my pedicure set, polish remover, polish, cotton balls, q-tips, all the tools i needed, a facial mask, my turbie twist, razor, Mystical Forest bath salts etc. So I watched Fred MacMurray and enjoyed my time alone and didnt feel lonely:wizard:

I even have a small bottle of Bailey's in my OL for Irish Coffee.:surfweb:

That was great and I didnt have to go anywhere or buy anything! Not things I would have packed for such a short trip.

Now you just have to convince OL to add "Replenishment" service ;)

That would be nice! John are you listening?:goodvibes

Friday night I decided to go out. I read about the Dolphin sushi restaurant with nightly Karaoke so I decided to hop on the boat and check it out. I ordered a Cali roll and a glass of wine. Had a great time sang all my favorites as it wasnt too busy. Will definitely go back.

The Boardwalk was pretty busy so I walked over to Atlantic Dance Hall stuck my head in and then walked on back to BCV.

Ooh a whole trip with no one to please but yourself. I love my family but that doesn't sound so bad.

Sounds like you are making the best of it and having a great time. :)

:goodvibes I think we were there for the same ME line! I was in shock, but it turned out to move pretty quickly!

Did you have the cranky line guard that kept yelling "Only 1 person per party needs to stand in line!"?

There were no lines at any of the rental counters. I think ME is bad for business, but it sure was nice to let someone else drive.:wizard:

After our 3 week trip with Dh and 2 boys in a Cat 10, and hearing "C'mon Momma" constantly, it was nice!! I am the only female and they tire of waiting on me or carrying my stuff!:rotfl:

It took day 3 before I realized that I had not heard "c'mon" once!:wizard:

On Saturday, I went to DHS in the morning. TSM was 70 min line and all FP were issued for the day:scared1: Im glad we had the chance at DLR in Aug.

Walked around and they have already started stringing the lights for OSL.
Indy was ready to start so I watched that. I dont remember it being that interesting or thrilling, but this time it really was!

Left DHS around 2pm to go over to SSR to see the models and check on my OKW paperwork. Bus pulled up before I made it to the stop. Took exactly 15 min from DHS to Grandstand. Got off at GS, because I enjoy walking around SSR. The Splash area at GS was open for those interested. The pool bar was also open.

Went to the preview center and they had an assistant take a group of us over to see the BLT model. I really liked the 1 bedroom. Nice size, lots of storage, more seating in living and dining. The decor definitely looks better in person. The studio I did not like. After looking at the point chart, someone quipped that it should be called the Tower of Terror1:rotfl: I calculated it would cost us 13k to buy a small contract to stay in a 1 bd for 5 nights eoy.

Left the preview center, went to Turf Club and had the Buffalo Tender appetizer for lunch. Sat in the bar area so I could watch for the boat to DTD.

Nice ride over to DTD. Shopped a little while and had my packages shipped to resort. Caught a taxi from DTD to the Premium Outlet (my favorite park).

I really love the Chicken Penne Pasta they serve at Artist Palette (SSR) so after I finished shopping, I taxi'd back to SSR for dinner. They only serve the pasta on Saturday and I did not want to miss it:lovestruc

Walked to the Springs bus stop and an Epcot bus pulled right up:wizard:.
I wanted to walk thru Epcot and have a glass of wine on my way to BCV. Well I guess I lost track of time, I was getting ready to step onto the bus and the driver said, "Epcot's closed" . He was overflow and sent to bring SSR guests back. He was on his way to MK to wait for the partygoers to exit. He took me straight to BCV!:wizard:

So a very positive report for the SSR busses from me!:woohoo:

Sunday, the housekeeper was banging on the door and then tried to enter at 8am. Good thing I keep it latched!:rotfl: I couldnt find the privacy sign to hang so she came back a couple more times after that. I left about 10:30 a.m after Bell Serv. picked up my bags and locker.

Spent my last hours at Epcot, eating and drinking. Someone here recommended the Barcelona Brut and it was excellent! I paired it with the Churro and Chocolate sauce:love:

Walked back to BC, grabbed a lounger on the beach, checked my emails and relaxed. Had dinner at Beaches and Cream and took half with me for the plane.

I had a great time! I enjoyed just wandering around, changing my mind and doing whatever. Definitely would go solo again and the location of BCV was great. I stayed 3 nights, but could have stayed a few more.

What a great report! Glad you had such a relaxing trip-it really sounded like fun! :)

...we were booted from AKV concierge into BCV concierge (after much protest)

I'm confused. I'm really new to DVC, but I don't think I knew that BCV even had concierge. It's not on the points chart like it is for AKV. Can you pay extra for it, or can you only get it if you're bumped from AKV like you were?
