DS came home with a Life Science crossword and he is having trouble with 2 of the questions. Of course, he came to his brilliant mother for help , and I don't know the answers either. He does not have a text book or reference book. Can you wonderful Disers help a momma out?


1. The answers provided by an experiment. 7 letters, 3rd letter is "s".

FTR, I thought "answers" and then figured they wouldn't put the answer in the question.

2. A way of collecting data using tools such as a balance. 9 letters. 2nd letter is an "e".

I feel like this is on the tip of my tongue and just can't grab it.
