I can understand how your budget hurts: 330 $ for drinks!
On the crowd calendar issue: I recently read something about it - I thought on the touringplans website, but I can't find it there. It was liek this: The new crowd level is the overall WDW level. So if you follow there recommendation for the best parks, this park will have a lower crowd level feel than the overall number. The example was: One day the crowd level for WDW is 6 and MK is the park to avoid, which would perhaps mean that MK has a level of 8. But another day WDW overall has a level of 8, but MK is the park to go to, so this means MK has a level of 6. So in the end, you still have MK emptier on a day with the higher crowd level. I hope this makes sense!
true but still, if you have an overall 9 I think it's all bad, the bad being relative. Hopefully as it gets closer those numbers will change.
I imagine the drink budget is quite excessive but I deliberately over-budgeted. It is vacation, we will have some drinks (I am envisioning tropical delights poolside, a Lost in Safari or a Yak Attack in AK, perhaps a Lapu Lapu at the Poly, etc) , but my guess it's it's really half that amount over 11 days. Even beer isn't cheap but I decided not to order it from GG as that wasn't cheap either. Jeff might get some at the store on the day he has a car and we will swing by the grocery store in the town car on the way to Universal so that's kind of built into that amount. It also covers extra snacks or whatever for OOP food that isn't caught in the DDP. Hopefully most of it is caught but obviously at Universal, there is no DDP
If you knock those apples out of the GG order, you'll have enough money for "contingency".At least things are coming together.
I'd be interested to hear what website you used for your glasses order. I have Rx sunglasses (fortunately don't need progressive lenses though), but I got them a couple of years ago when I had some money left in my medical spending account at the end of the year and had to use it up. I think I'll stick with them for a while longer, but I'll probably need new regular glasses soon.
yup, $7 would be a decent contingency. For...
gum?

Hey, it's still cheaper than an apple at Disney prices and we need some fruit in the room for breakfast or pool snacks, I don't want to use up snack credits on them when I could get a $4 muffin or whatever!
We used 2 different sites, one recommended by the grocery store lady (2 pairs for me) and another I found on my own (1 for me, 3 for Jeff). Reviews for both sites were decent. One is based out of CA, the other we are pretty sure comes from China. I do know the first pair from the China shop is on its way already, supposedly shipped on 6/2. Once they arrive and we see how they are I will post links to the sites. For Single Vision you could get a pair for $8! Jeff's sunglasses were the most expensive, he "had" to have titanium so those were around $65 I think, he ended up with 3 pairs total for $116 and I got 3 for $152. But the progressive lens added $22 to each pair so back that out and super cheap on a per-pair basis.
That said, if I was getting single vision, non sun, I'd have sprung for a better polycarbonate lens which was another $10. Can't get it with sun as they can't tint them. So if these work I will be going back and getting another regular pair but with the longer lasting lens.
Kind of sad but the reality is if I even love only one out of the 3 pairs I still come out wayyyy ahead versus buying from a store here. Our old insurance would get you a really nice pair for about $150. Now that we are back on VSP it's more like $300 for one and that's with insurance kicking in $150 and a 20% discount. It's a racket! And what is annoying is you don't save by just replacing lenses as insruance bundles the discount to almost force you to get new frames too!
I am so grateful I bought Eric 2 pairs while we had the better insurance, I think I got 2 for $150 so worst case I should just have to get him new lenses.
Theoretically Jeff and I should be able to get reimbursed for the lenses at $80 each from the insurance and if so, an even better deal! I did it with contacts, which are also much cheaper online so I'm sure I can with this, I just haven't looked at it yet.
Ok, insurance vent over
