Life’s too short...to never sleep in a treehouse! 8/27 TR is up! Link in siggie

Hamper is a perfect idea!! I love that!!!

Shorts weather in March/April?? In Seattle?? Unlikely. But stranger things have happened.

Supposed to be 67 tomorrow:thumbsup2...in Seattle anything over 60 and you will see shorts coming out.

Unless you are my brother. Then they never go away (unless your mean office doesn't let you wear shorts).

April can be lovely....low 70's...baseball...I love spring!

And then again it could be 50 and raining like crazy and practices and games are all rained out.

well it took me 2 weeks of reading on and off to catch up.

i wont comment on everything, but congrats on the job. very cool

and the trips sound fun.

and it awesome that you have a son who is now a certified ninja.
:thumbsup2

Great News Cynthia !!!! The new job sounds like it is gonna work for you!!! I remember how hard it was leaving the girls home alone for even a short time !!! Summer camp etc is soooooo expensive !!! Kyle still goes as to stay home all summer with his sisters would be asking for Murder of one or all of them either by each other or us !!!!!:rotfl2:

I think I still need to say congratulations on your job and that you got everything worked out. I am sure your boys will do fine and I think it is a great opportunity for them to learn to be responsible for themselves! :thumbsup2

The suurprise trip sounds like a lot of fun and those puzzles are really great! What a lot of work you put into them! :worship:

I'm fully caught up now and absolutely exhausted!! :rotfl:

Seriously, congrats on the new job and having your own office!!

Happy less-than-thirty days!!!

I left them for 10 minutes today to go and get a coffee. We were OUT which is a big problem for me. Eric's a little nervous about the whole thing so we are going to do some trial runs over the next 2 weeks. Summer camps are a ton of money, no doubt. I'm ok with it as long as they are fun but I had too many years of lame camps that were basically glorified babysitting and they didn't learn or do a thing. Hopefully this new line up will be better, it sounds like a pretty amazing summer to me!

An hour with a sibling is one thing...a whole day? It will be a LONG time before that happens!

Thanks! I think they will be fine and I am SO excited for our surprise trip it almost makes the spring closet purge and reorganize worth it!

Thanks!!!!! It will be about as un-fancy as an office can be (really ugly building) but having my own space will be SOOOOOOOOO nice. That was a hard adjustment for me and it will be nice to have back.

Still. I've been manipulating things in Quicken for 2 days straight! :rotfl:

Ooh, fancy! I just do a spreadsheet I created on Excel. I'm afraid Quicken would be too complicated for me. Or can you customize it exactly how you want it?

I forgot to tell you, I really liked the most recent binder pages you posted - can I steal them? You had snack listings I think. I definitely want to bring a list of dp snacks, and mini CS menus for each park, so we can plan on the fly.

You really can manipulate it. It's just like a checkbook but you can automate as much or as little...or as far out, as you want. I love it.

Of course you can borrow the pages :) I am making a CS one too....:goodvibes

Yay! The new job sounds great!! But wow $700 a month for child care is just crazy! I'm sure the boys will be fine for an hour and you're close by so that's good. I know how you feel though...Nick turns 10 soon and although I haven't left him yet,I know that I could..he a responsible kid. It's still hard and you're going to worry. But, as someone else said it gives the boys a chance to learn to be responsible which is great!!:thumbsup2

Love the puzzles!!:goodvibes

Ah, yes. The joys of sitting outside shivering while the boys splashed around trying their darndest to hit a ball on a stand. Running around in the ankle deep puddles. ;) The fun of the Northwest.

Oh, I can't wait to see those! I forgot what size you're doing. Wasn't it a photo book for 4x6 photos that you're using?

Good news on the job front.

Selfishly I know it will mean less of you here on the boards with us.:sad1:

I will miss you but knew it was inevitable.

Ridiculous isn't it? I need to check in with all my neighbors this week on it.

LOL that's why I skipped Tball. I actually enjoy little league...odd I know.

The new ones I posted are 4x6. The first batch was letter sized though there were a few changes (things taken off/added) from 09 to 10.

Hopefully I will get to the CS this week...been booking summer care stuff all morning. One of their top choices was already gone (while do I feel like summer camp is just as much a roulette as ADR's and airfare right now?) so I had to do some juggling. Now I just have to be up at midnight on this weds
when online reg opens for another set of bookings and then again on 5/9 for Evan's baseball camp. I actually am thrilled that the last one isn't until 5/9 for financial reasons but it freaks me out about not getting in. Bleh!

jeesh.

Hopefully I will still be around quite a bit...just not in the middle of the day anymore. My morning DIS time and early evenings should stay intact. :rotfl:

Ah yes, Little League. I remember very well stalking all the hottest guys from middle school in my tender youth. :rolleyes1 We'd pig out on Laffy Taffys, Buubalicious gum and Twizzlers, and hope the guys would stop by the pizza place afterwards.

Blondie and ELO were the tunes to play.

Don't forget the ring pops and frozen charleston chews. Mountain Dew and a blackberry fruit pie. Or two.

Baseball in middle school huh. I didn't pay attention to guys in sports until high school and then somehow always ended up with soccer players. Middle school was all about the quiet guys for me....

This is slightly OT, but then again, what isn't!

I have a very random question for everyone. Every year I go through what I call...."summer feet".

Which is the transition season from when I go from wearing socks with shoes to almost 100% without.

It doesn't seem to matter much how good, old or comfortable the shoes are, I will invariably get a few little blisters, calluses or hot spots until my feet acclimate to going sock free. Certainly new ones can be worse but old tried and true will do it too.

It doesn't seem to matter whether it's here in Seattle or on vacation, it's a process my feet go through every year.

It is markedly worse if I hit a very humid or dry area without having broken in my feet for the season. I've had some nasty experiences in Vegas, Palm Springs and Key West during April/May trip time frames.

To me, it is what it is, I plan for it, expect it and try to break them in gently each year. Last weekend we did a little short day hike and I broke out the Keens to start breaking in my feet. As expected, a little raw between the toes, nothing unmanageable (as I knew I wouldn't wear those shoes again for several days) and nothing that isn't already pretty much resolved.

It's definitely not a walking issue (as in walking too much) , more a skin toughening up issue and it happens each year, without fail at this time of year.

I really didn't think this was uncommon.

According to the gang at gourmet club last night...I'm the only one that has this "issue"

Are my feet uncommonly tender or what's the deal?

As I try to determine what shoes to bring to CA, and I will bring several so no one pair is worn too much as my feet won't be ready yet (but should be perfect by FL) I wonder....

Are my feet uncommonly tender or what's the deal?

Next. Garanimals

I definitely have the same issue! Vacationing in Florida in the spring makes it worse because there isn't much time to break in my feet. I've been trying to go sock-less as much as possible to get the process started.

When at Disney I find I need to switch shoes often too - not just from day to day but mid-day as well. I remember last year when we stayed on-site, worrying about how I would switch shoes mid-day if we park hopped without returning to the resort. I'm glad we have the car this year so I can stash my extra shoes.

I am not a "no shoes" person. Whenever my kids get hurt because they're running around barefoot I give them a big "I told you so". Sorry!

I didn't have issues last year but alternated shoes daily and switched mid day a couple of times when it made sense. I didn't pack them with me though. I was just really surprised no one else had that issue!

not no shoes....no socks!
