Has anyone been to the Liberty Tree Tavern recently? When we used to go (9+ yrs ago) it was a regular sitdown restaurant. We liked it a lot then. I've heard that they changed it. Is it family style, buffet, character meals or what? Is the food any good?

TIA, crazymom

It is a character meal with Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck and Meeko. Food is served family style, all you can eat including (copied from wdwig.com):

DECLARATION SALAD - Tossed Mixed Greens, served with our special Tavern Strawberry Vinaigrette Dressing

PATRIOT'S PLATTER - A generous serving of roasted turkey breast, carved beef, and smoked pork loin chops, accompanied with Tavern-made mashed potatoes, market vegetables, herb bread stuffing, and Stouffer's Macaroni and Cheese.

BEVERAGES - Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Orange, Lemonade, Birch Beer; Coffee, Regular or Decaffeinated; Hot Tea; Carnation Hot Cocoa; Milk, Whole, Low-fat, Skim and Chocolate; and Nestea Iced Tea.

Rolls and gravy also included.

DESSERTS - Boston Creme Pie included. Assorted fresh desserts from Martha's kitchen $2.25 - $5.50 each

PRICES
Adults $21.99
Little Patriots (ages 3-11) $9.99

It is a great meal - we have been several times and recommend it highly.

We ate dinner there last month and thought it was very good. The characters we saw were Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale. As the previous poster stated, it is all you can eat served family style.

The Liberty Tree Tavern has a Family Style Dinner with Characters in attendance. I have read mostly positive reviews of this.
For Lunch, The Liberty tree tavern is a full service ala carte menu. I love lunch here. The menu variety is good and all of the food we have had has been very good. Service is always great and it is usually a somewhat quiet and cool place.
Here is a menue from 7 months ago. The menu changes a bit here and there. http://wdwig.com/menu/men_lttl.htm

We haven't tried the character dinner but we have eaten lunch at LTT twice and really enjoy it. As mentioned, it is a break from the heat, relaxing atmosphere, good service and food.

I hate to be the negative one .. and I was disappointed with the the character dinner at the Liberty Tree Tavern .. the service, atmosphere and characters were great, however, the food reminded me of a big Stouffers frozen meal (hmm, makes since since it's sponsored by Stouffers). Yes it's all you can eat .. but how much of a frozen meal do you want? I wouldn't do the dinner again .. I think I'd take the monorail over to Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary instead.

However, the sit-down (non-character) lunch was wonderdul. Great food!

Let me see if I have this straight: The dinner is a character meal and is served all-you-can-eat family style. The lunch, though, is different? Is it menu style or also all-you-can-eat only w/o the characters? I'm esp. interested bc. we plan on making lunch our main meal so that is when we would be there.

Unless it's changed .. lunch is a la carte off the menu, no characters. Dinner is an all-you-can-eat buffet, hosted by Disney characters.
