I've heard varied reviews on this. Some say it's excellent and some say the food tastes like tv dinners. We ate there a long time ago and can't recall what it was like.

Ideas?

We have eaten at LTT every year for many years, usually for Thanksgiving, Easter, birthdays etc. We have really liked the food. It is served family style...just ask for extra when the platters are empty. I don't think it tastes like a frozen dinner...other than the mac and cheese which I believe is "Stouffers". The only thing is that they just got rid of the characters which was a big draw for us. The meal is pretty expensive (paying out of pocket) and I'm debating whether to return unless they bring them back!

We have only eaten at LTT for lunch and were very pleased with the variety and quality of the food. My grandmother keeps asking when we are going back!

We've eaten at LTT twice prior to MVMCP. It was excellant for our family. The kids loved the food choices and the characters were the best. I really hope they bring them back so we can enjoy them on our trip again this year.

The TV dinner thing to me is crazy. Good food, served hot and fresh and plenty of it. I think you'll enjoy it.

We have eaten there for both lunch and dinner.
I liked the lunch the best.
Dinner was good, but the stuffing is Stouffers, which I don't really care for.
I grew up eating home make stuffing, cooked in the bird, not the drier stuffing they serve, which IMO is more of a dressing since it is not cooked inside the bird.
Other than that, everything was good.

That being said my family loves LTT. The meat is great and so is the salad and we like the Stouffer's sides.

I heard they are bringing the characters back - has anyone else heard that? Does know know when?

We had lunch there on Mother's Day and it was fabulous. Most of the party had the Colony Salad but I had the salmon and everyone loved what they got.

I wouldn't say the food is excellent or great, but it's good/decent food. Some people have called it TV dinner-like because LTT serves Stouffers mac & cheese and stuffing as part of the dinner. Sure it's not as good as home-made, but we didn't have a problem with it. We've done LTT dinner on every trip; we thought the food was good, we enjoyed the character interaction, liked the colonial atmosphere & it was conveniently located in MK. However, now that the characters are gone, I doubt we will return to LTT - the cost of the dinner seems awfully high for no characters.

We like lunch there - very tasty, although the entree's are not as good as they were in yesteryears. I also miss the honeybutter and rolls as well as the sweet tea

But we are still going for lunch because it is a tasty option.

They at least don't hide the fact that the mac and cheese is stouffers.

Really disappointed about the characters. The restaurant is really neat, and we've always enjoyed the food, but the colonial characters always made it even more special. Now not sure what to do...reservations have been tough, so might skip it since the characters are gone

we thought dinner was good last September -- especially the turkey, and the dessert was outstanding. Yes, the mac & cheese was Stouffers, but that's actually good, I think (not gourmet, but good.)

That said, we really thought the historical characters really made the experience so we probably wouldn't go back..."good" food is acceptable if ambiance or characters are making the experience better. Without the characters, we'd rather spend our $$ for great food.

When I called to make my ADR's the other day, the CM told me that they were in the process of bringing the character's back. She did not specify a time though. I hope soon, I love the dinner and will go back with or without the characters, but it is much nicer with the character's.

To me the Liberty Tree is by far the best sitdown in Disney.....The Turkey and Mashed Potatoes are amazing....we eat here once a week.....It does get expensive even with our discounts but still worth it......

Well that's more info then I got the last time I called which was April 30th. I was told there was no talk of bringing them back. I also heard on another site that the plan was to bring them back but the success of the buy 4 get 3 free led to a boom in dining. LTT was operating at a HUGE loss until that discount program came along and now they are operating at a huge profit. Even at better levels then when the characters were there since people are there to eat and not see the characters. I'm hoping that they come back because I want to eat there the night we go to MNSSHP and see the characters.
