Hi Everyone,
We have been to MK several times and have never made time to visit Liberty Tree Tavern.
I have heard some good things about it.
Can anyone tell me about their experiences? Good Food????
We would substitute Chef Mickey's for LTT...We have been to CM twice already.
Thanks!!!! :cool1:

After 16+ trips, I FINALLY made it to LTT Oct. 2nd!!! We went for MNSSHP before the party began and the characters were dressed in their "Halloween" costumes.....

Prior to going, I'd seen both negative and positive reviews on this board (lots of people mostly complaining about the Stouffer's Mac & Cheese).... my family absolutely LOVED dinner here and surprisingly it was one of our favorite's of the trip! I can't say if it's better than CM's since I actually have not done CM's since they moved from DTD to the Contemporary (yes, a very long time ago! :rotfl: ) CM's is a buffet where LTT is served family style at your table-

We do plan on returning here on our next trip for sure! :)

Good food -- yes -- and the best character interactions on-property, as far as we were concerned during our last trip. I prefer Liberty Tree Tavern to Chef Mickey's, especially because I feel it has a much better atmosphere.

We always return to LTT. We tried Chef Mickey's this year for the first time, but decided we preferred LTT. Chef Mickey's was really good, but the atmosphere is very open and we prefer smaller and cozier.

At LLT, the food is very good. Not gourmet, but good food like you would cook at home without doing the work. And they bring as much as you would like directly to your table.

We have always had great service, and the character interaction is always outstanding. We also like the atmosphere of the restaurant. It feels cozy to us with the smaller rooms and the woodwork throughout.

This past August, we were chosen to open the dinner seating and received a Magical Moments certificate as well as getting to meet the characters as a group for a few minutes before they opened the seating.

I think it really comes down to what your expectations are in the restaurant you're chosing, but LTT for us is a very relaxed, very filling and very fun dinner to share.

We did both CM and LTT on our last trip and enjoyed them both very much. LTT is much quieter, and definitely more relaxing. I think it's nice to have them bring the food to you instead of up and down to the buffet after a long day in the parks. Character interaction at LTT was great, we enjoyed the food, like a home cooked meal. I would definitely give it a try.

WE went last week and LOVED LTT. I just picked up our pictures last night and DH commented on how this was his favorite (overall) meal of the week. We had good food and everyone ate with no noses in the air. The characters were awsome. My little one was in love with them. Our waitress was awesome . There were no negatives about it at all.

My dd6's must do is chef mickey's since we have been there everytime we have gone I made a compromise with her and we did LTT for the first time and we really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere so much so that have booked it for our upcoming trip. I also did chef mickeys for dinner our last night as a treat to my dd and it was my moms first time and I definitely liked LTT better for dinner. Chef mickey's is still our #1 breakfast spot.

Hope this helps a little best of luck!!!!!!!!!!

I think the food at LTT is just okay, but the atmosphere and character interaction is wonderful, and it is nice to be served rather than having to go up to the buffet.

We've been to LTT many times. My dinner there last year was far from favorable and other family members that had visited over the last two years were not thrilled either (mostly for service - which also resulted in food that was just warm).

However, we were just there on this last visit (dinner before MNSSHP) and found our experience completely different from last year. Our waiter was better (not the best we had all week but much better than previous visits and well within our expectations) and the food was great! Everything was served hot and there was plenty of it. When the boys wanted more, they simply asked specifically for which meat and how many pieces of each and the waiter brought it out! The beef was really good so they ordered extra of that. Definitely a good experience and I can now safely recommend this restaurant again!

As far as character interaction - last year (being 6 adults) they didn't even seem to stop by (I think we only saw two characters during our entire dinner) but this year (5 adults), each character stopped by and made a point of seeing each person. And they really worked it with the children.

A much better experience overall!!!

We had Mother's Day dinner there this year. It was our first time there & we loved it! We're going back again in May 2007.

Thanks everyone. I'll pass this info on to my DH and 2DDs.
Then I'll call and reserve it.
:woohoo:

We absolutely LOVED this place when we went this past October! There were 8 in our party (4 adults and 4 kids). The food was great, service was great, and characters were absolutely awesome. Much better than at Chef Mickey's (we are there in Oct too) where I felt the characters were very rushed. No Mickey at LTT, but you get Minnie, Pluto, Goofey and chip n dale. It was our best dinner for the kids. LeCellier was our best adult meal.

We've done lunch there which is not a character meal, but is also very good!
I thought the food, service and atmosphere were all very good. Definately would recommend it, but love Chef Mickey's too!!

Do they do the photos at all character meals? We only did CM as a ts on our first trip. They have you pose for a picture before the meal. Do they do that at all of the character meals? Any body know the going rate for the photos?

OP-we have LTT scheduled this trip and we can't wait to try it out!

They did not at LTT....but they did do a before picture at Donalds when we went the prices was $29.99 (?) I think.

I ate at LTT New Years Eve 2005. The food was delicious, and for a packed place, the service was good. I have an ADR for the day before Thanksgiving and I can't wait!!!

Thanks! The only character meals we are doing this year are LTT and CP. Anyone know if they do a photo at CP?

They do not do a photo a CP! Maybe they should!!

To the OP, we LOVE LTT (especially DH), we have the character dinner every trip ... as well as CP, CM and at least a couple more!!
:thumbsup2

We've eaten at LTT (dinner) 3 times now. :thumbsup2 The last time was during the first MNSSHP this year. We enjoyed it as much as always. And, even thought they were very busy, things ran smoothly. We had the extra perk of the characters (and staff) in costumes.

The character handlers were very good at having them come around evenly spaced. We were there for just about an hour :hourglass and we saw them all, plus Minnie and Pluto, for a 2nd time.

On our previous 2 trips we ate there fairly late so we actually had characters coming around many times. It almost got to be a joke. As the room empties out, the ycome around quicker. We have found this at most of the character meals we've done. So, my recommendation if you want to have alot of character time, eat late. It's worked for us well at LTT and at PF1900 (lunch and dinner). However, this doesn't work for the princesses-they only come around once, regardless of the time you eat.

Back to LTT, the food is mostly good, home style cooking. The one exception is the mac 'n cheese-pretty much inedible-pretty mushy. My DD7 princess: is used to mine made from scratch with Velveeta. :goodvibes Mased potatoes and gravy and the meats were good. We also enjoyed the apple/ice cream dessert. :woohoo:

Another vote for:

LOVE LTT! In fact as T-day is approaching I keep thinking about it! The best meal we had all week--and by far the best mashed potatos on property. (that we have tried!)

I saw the other photo of the food but here are a few more:

(the gravy was really good, it had been sitting awhile when this photo was taken)

Here was our dessert:
