Ok I need some expert opinions... I have been lurking around these boards ever since we decided we were venturing to the World for free dining. I have all of my reservations planned and there is just one I am on the fence about. Liberty Tree Tavern or 1900 Park Fare... this will be a dinner reservation. We will be spending the day in Magic Kingdom and I am traveling with DH, DD (9) DS (18mos) MIL, FIL... I have 1900 Pare Fare already booked for the evening but I was thinking it may just be easier to eat in MK. Can anybody give me opinions on both restaurants... anyone know if it is a long haul to the GF? Any advice would be nice!!

Thanks,
Kristina

we'll be eating at liberty tree tavern for the first time our upcoming trip in september.. have been trying for forever (it seems) to get ADRs for 1900 park fare but so far they're booked the entire week we're there for dinner!!! i'm guess it must be really good since it's so hard to get an ADR!!!! i'd stick with it!!!

Only a hop on the monorail for the GF. I have eaten at both and would go for the 1900 Park. I much preferred it over the Liberty Tree. The Liberty food was way too ample served family style and was nothing to write home about.

I would pick 1900 PF over LTT dinner any day of the week ::yes:: LTT lunch is very good, but I'm not fond of their dinner at all. JMHO :goodvibes

We just got back and we ate at LTT for dinner and we loved it-I cant compare it to 1900 though but LTT was our favorite meal.

Been to both and liked 1900 park fare better. Thought the food was better and I really enjoyed the characters more. You just have to take the monorail to the GF from MK. Shouldn't take you more than 10 mins

Location -- yes, LTT is conveniently located. But it's a quick and fun ride on the monorail to the GF for 1900 Park Fair. Or you could take the boat directly from the MK to the GF. We find that the restaurants outside of the parks are quieter and more relaxing than the ones inside the parks.

Characters -- For dinner, 1900 PF has Cinderella & family vs. Mickey & friends at LTT. Does one set appeal to you more?

Dinner -- 1900 PF is a buffet and LTT is a sit-down family-style meal.

We really enjoyed 1900PF much more than our dinner at LTT. The menu at LTT is very limited, while the buffet at the GF has tons to choose from. Also, my DD is STILL talking about the chilled strawberry soup at 1900PF and how she wants to go there again.

IMO I would stick with the reservation you have. You'll have more food choices. And if you want to go back to the MK, it's only one monorail stop from the GF!

IMO, they are both great restaurants! You cant go wrong w/ either one. LTT is served family style: big salad for table and rolls w/ butter, platter of meats: turkey, steak and ham and many sides(think thanksgiving). LTT also has Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale (great character interaction). It was also nice to be in the MK and walk right into dinner. 1900 PF is only a monorail or boat ride away. It is an international buffet: carving station, salads, hot entrees from around the world and sides. They have a mini buffet for the kids and a nice dessert selection. in addition, if you are celebrating anything(birthday, anniversary, etc.) GF Bakery does wonders w/ their custom cakes (had a beautiful custom cake sent to table for our anniversary in May-check anniversary/cake thread for picture). 1900 has Cinderella, Prince Charming, Eveil stepmother and sisters(very funny).
Well, I hope I didnt make the decision harder for you but I dont think you can go wrong either way!

Also, if you need a break from the park it would be nice to go to the GF, have dinner, then take a stroll through the resort. Very relaxing! If your ADR is late enough you can walk out to the beach and watch the fireworks from the MK and the electric water pageant in the lagoon

I've been to both dinners. The food's a bit "fancier" at 1900, but there's a kids' station to appease the little ones (when we were there, my daughter enjoyed many pb&j crustless sandwiches!). But I also liked the family style servings at LTT; at least we didn't have to keep getting up and possibly missing the characters.

I preferred LTT over 1900 just because 1900 seemed rowdier, the tables are VERY close together (at least the ones against the wall were), and it seemed to take a long time for Cinderella, Suzy and Perla, and Prince Charming to come around.

I hope you have a good time, whichever one you choose!

My husband and I went to 1900 Park Fare for breakfast and it was so yummy! Plus it had Alice and the Mad Hatter! They were a blast. Also had Mary Poppins, Pooh, and Tigger. Tigger even "stole" me away from my husband! I haven't been there for dinner though but if it's anything like breakfast it'll be good.

I'm thinking about trying Liberty Tree Tavern for next year.

Although they've improved the food and service a bit at LTT (just ate there last month), we still much prefer 1900 Park Fare. The character interaction is good at both, but the food is much better at 1900 Park Fare. We always eat here 2x during our visits: breakfast (Alice, Mary, Mad Hatter & Pooh/Tigger) and dinner (Cindy, Prince, Steps).

Good luck with your choice - as others have said, 1900 Park Fare is a quick monorail trip away.

Happy eating, Tiger :)

Ok I think you have all made up my mind to keep our reservation at 1900 Park Fare. I didn't realize it would be so easy to jump on the mono to get to the GF. Thank you all so much!
