Which is better for dinner? We can take or leave the characters, so we're just concerned about the food. Is the atmosphere nice in both?

We haven't eaten at LTT but have eaten at Tony's for early lunch
and found the food to be very good but we didn't order simple dishes
like Spaggetti and meatballs (these seem to not be very good-most people don't
care for it).
We ate Grilled Salmon, NY Strip Steak, and White Flatbread Pizza.
We ate there in Sept 2007 and had Free Dining!!
Tony's is on the top of our list to eat at on our upcoming trip.
We also loved the atmosphere and theme of the Restaurant.
It was the best TS meal of our whole trip and we ate TS once per
day for 8 days.

Tony's I have to say was horrible! My kids were disgusted by the food. In my husband's dish there was a hair ball! But we haven't been there for 2 years so maybe it changed. I would go with Liberty Tree Tavern.

We ate at Tony's last week and found all the food unbearably salty. It was the only bad meal we had at Disney. Didn't try Liberty Tree.

We really enjoyed LTT-have eaten there twice. It's great "kid food." I will say that it is quite expensive for what you get. (Okay if you're on the dining plan.)

My worry about LTT is that it's the family style thanksgiving dinner. I'm not American (I live here though) so I don't have any warm fuzzy feelings about this traditional dinner (no offence meant!) My DH makes me cook turkey with all the British Christmas trimmings at Thanksgiving, which would probably make my neighbors toes curl!! Mostly I hate mash potato, I don't mind my own, but most restaurant stuff really does not do it for me. If I served mash with a roast dinner I think DH would leave me!

How could mash be so offensive you ask? A lot to do with the fact that you could tell when my Dad was really hard up as we had a big pile of mash on our plate at dinner. He usually felt it necessary to leave as many hard lumps in it as he could. I took to feeding it to the cat, who felt, after awhile, it had lost it's novelty also. So I don't equate it to being something for a nice dinner out, not sure if that's just an English thing, or I'm just weird!! I find most of our restaurants around me aren't very creative with potatoes. There are more ways to serve them than mashed or fried!

Which brings me, eventually back to LTT vs Tony's. I wish they had just a smige more variety at LTT. I'm right in thinking it's not just turkey? Which is a start. So I'm trying to decide if the character interaction (going there before MNSSHP) is worth it. What are the veggies served with it? Anyone have any pictures, that would be awesome.

DH has just looked over my shoulder and rolled his eyes..and I quote "Oh dear, she's on her mash rant again"

Okay I'm done now.

Here is the menu for Liberty Tree:

I'd choose Liberty Tree in a heartbeat over Tony's. We went to Tony's about 2-3 years ago and it was awful!!! But I'm not sure about you with your dislike of mashed potatoes & turkey. Although there might be other things on the menu at LTT you might like - I loved their salad, rolls, green beans (the veggie we were served when we were there) & other sides.

So, how's that for a fine :confused3

I hope you end up liking whichever place you choose. It's the pits to spend a small fortune and hate what they put in front of you!

LTT no question. Its one of our must do's. We ate at Tony's once and found it bland and uninteresting. We've no plans to go back.

We didn't like LTT because it's Stoffer's frozen meals. For the price I can microwave that meal at home. Now, Tony's we loved it. I was really scared going because of the negative feedback but it was great and we're planning to eat there again.

We love both, we go to Tonys every year and had a wonderful dinner each time. We did LTT last year and it was really good as well. If your not interested in characters then go for Tonys!:thumbsup2

Count me in as another Tony's lover. My whole family enjoys the atmosphere and food. I had no idea so many people hated it until I came to these boards!

We also loved Tony's. Our best meal of our trip was there last August. My kids loved the food and so did me and my husband. LTT is good too but Tony's was better this time around.

I still would not hesitate to try Tony's just once and
you can make your own opinion of it.
Most of the people who have disliked it on here
had eaten at Tonys 2-3 years ago.
All I know is it was the Best TS we had eaten all week
and I'm fairly picky eater.
Our food was not not at all over salted or I would
have noticed that and wouldn't have liked it.

For dinner, neither :rotfl2:

(but for lunch we love Tony's and are trying LTT lunch for the frist time this trip)
