This is our first time going to LTT and our first time on DDP.

I just saw on AllEars that the updated menu has cherry cobbler as dessert and that other desserts are available for an additional charge. I think I'm the only person in our party who would eat the cobbler - does anyone know if there is something else that can be substituted that ISN'T an additional charge? When we booked it, the desserts were "selection" and not one specific thing.

Also, is the only dressing they have the strawberry vinaigrette? I assumed other kinds might be available, but was wondering if anyone else knows. Sounds great to me, but DH would prefer something else.

TIA!

re LTT meal...are your talking about the dinner or the lunch? Don't know about lunch I think you may get "selection" for dessert then, but if it's dinner, it's a family-style serving where they bring out platters/serving bowls to your table to serve everyone out of the dish family style. There's no cherry cobbler on offer to the group for dessert. Must say, our experience with "updated" menus is that don't believe 'em. Either they're not really updated, or the restaurants change menus constantly but we've found a lot of variation between the supposed updated menus and the actual restaurant experience.

At the LTT dinner we had on 8/31/2008, it was a set meal of lettuce salad with the strawberry vinaigrette and warm dinner rolls, this was followed by roast beef, ham and turkey with mashed potatoes/gravy, green beans, macaroni & cheese and stuffing. The dessert is warm apple crisp topped with ice cream. The apple crisp was listed on the printed menu (no mention of a cherry cobbler on the dinner menu in the restaurant.) And the apple crisp was wonderful, by the way.

We did not ask for a different dressing on the salad. However, if you're concerned that it might have a sweet or fruity/strawberry taste, it does not. The actual taste is more of a vinegar & oil dressing, with a very slight tart fruit taste to it...but much closer to vinegar & oil than fruit. If you have an allergy, they will definitely substitute for you. Just tell them when you check in.

We ate there 8/31/08 and had a family size dish of apple crisp with vanilla ice cream as our desert. We noticed the table next to us requested a different salad dressing and their family was brought individual bowls of salad with ranch dressing on the side. I agree with the earlier post, the strawberry vinagrette dressing was very mild and good. My DD is a vegetarian and we were concerned what she could eat. We asked our server who had a chef come to our table to discuss the menu items. My daughter was offered the lunch vegetarian entree, an oriental style tofu dish, but decided to just eat the mac and cheese, green beans, salad, mashed potatoes and rolls that were all prepared without meat or meat products.
Our only problem with the meal was our server from Morocco seemed to have a little difficulty understanding our requests. DD asked for some extra salad and rolls since she wasn't eating the meat and he didn't seem to understand- he brought more potatoes but nothing else.

When we went the dessert was apple crisp, too.

My DS doesn't eat it, so I asked if we could pay for another dessert from the lunch menu. No dice.

They did bring DS his own bowl of vanilla ice cream, though :thumbsup2
