Does anyone know what Birch Beer is at Liberty Tree Tavern?

It's listed under the offered drinks. I was under the impression that Magic Kingdom is a non-alcoholic park?

Birch beer is a northern drink. We have it here in PA. It is similar to root beer, but it has a crisper taste (not as sweet as root beer). I enjoy it. Around here we have the white and regular varieties, but they probably have the more cola type in Disney. I also don't think that it has caffeine (nor does most rootbeer) if that is important to you.

I had birch beer for the first time at CRT last Jan and fell in love with it!! Every great once in a while I can find it in Target in Memphis, but other than that, it's strickly a WDW treat for me!

I have always liked birch beer. I think it has kind of a wintergreen flavor to it. Does anyone else think that too?

I think Birch Beer has birch bark in it (well it used to anyway) and wintergreen oil, it is similiar to root beer, root beer usually has moe of the sarsaparilla in it - but then all formulas are secret!!

My ds (20) did request this for his birthday drink of choice!! :) Small World!!

We have Birch Beer here that you buy in stores (same as you would Coke or Pepsi) so I'll have to try it and see if it's the same!!

I like birch beer too - it's not as sweet as root beer, and has more of a spicy flavor to it (?). I really like sasparilla! We made sasparilla from scratch at camp once (gathered the plants, boiled the roots, added carbonated soda).

It's the difference between regular ginger ale and Vernor's (hehehe... another northern drink).

Birch beer is sooooo good! When I lived in NY, you could buy it in a 2 liter bottle. Here in the Pacific NW, you can only buy it in a small glass bottle, which is a little expensive, at the more upscale grocery stores, but it is worth every penny. Harry and David's carries Boylan's Red Birch Beer. That is my favorite! :cool1:

When I was a kid they used to have birch beer in kegs at the local 4th of July celebration every year. Man that was good. The first time I drank it from a can I nearly spit it out. It's completely different on tap.
