My ds would like to eat at Liberty Tree Tavern's character meal. Dh is a vegetarian. Does anyone know if they do anything to accommodate vegtrns? We don't like the idea of spending $22 for him to eat salad, potato, mac n chez and dessert.

Thanks!

WDW is wonderful about accomodating all kinds of diets. I think you can just make arrangements 24 hours prior to your PS time and they will have an entree prepared for him.

Here is a link from allears.net about vegatarian/vegan eating at WDW.

Table service restaurants at Walt Disney World are a vegetarian's dream. My experiences have ranged from "good" to "outstanding". As a vegetarian, I never had any trouble finding something appealing either already on the menu, or available simply by omitting an ingredient or two. However, as a vegan, all of my best meals were items *not* found on the menu, but specially offered up when I mentioned my situation to the staff.

The following chart will give you some ideas of the more "veggie friendly" options, but keep in mind that each experience is unique. Mentioning your dietary needs when you make priority seatings will increase your options. I encourage every vegetarian and vegan to "speak up", and be prepared to eat well. Any full-service restaurant is happy to accommodate your special dietary needs - just give them a call ahead of time.

I believe they offer a pasta in place of the "meat" at Liberty. It has been a while since I looked into it, but that is what I remember from planning our 12/02 trip.

The last time I ws there, they had an edible but bland veggie "curry" over rice or couscous ("curry" in quotation marks because it was very bland).

My DD is also a vegetarian and all though we did not eat at Liberty Tree, we had a similar situation at the Brown Derby. When we researched the menu on line, she found several items that she would eat, however, when we arrived at the restaurant, we found that they had changed their menu and those items had been replaced. Our server noticed that my DD was unhappy with the selections and offered to have the chef come out and speak with her. The chef came out to our table and asked my daughter what she liked to eat and explained what they had available in the kitchen that night. They agreed on a pasta primavera with fresh vegetables and a light garlic and oil sauce. My DD stills talks about how good that dish was.
You can ask to speak with the chef at any sit down restaurant. We did mention at check-in that our DD was a vegetarian and were assured that it was not a problem. Some food allergies require that you notify the restaurant 24-48 hours in advance.
