I was seriously considering just using all my college savings I'm saving up this summer and putting it towards a quick Halloween trip. But that wouldn't be productive. :/ Again, your costume is so perf and if I get into the DCP Fall Advantage 2015, I am going to you for costume tips.

LOL @ the Photopass photographer making you do random poses. I think the back-to-back one was really cute though. Zombie pose... Ummm, yeah that seemed a bit strange, but now you've got me thinking of how awesome it would be if someone showed up dressed as Rick Grimes or Daryl Dixon! Seriously, even though I'd prefer a Disney look, some Walking Dead outfits in MNSSHP... I wouldn't mind.

Anyways, love all your photos of Main Street all halloween'd out and at the Train Station! It must be even cooler to look at this stuff in person. *sigh* But that's so great how Jess wanted to get right into Christmas that night. for choosing BritBrit, Mariah and the Michalka girls to kick it off!

So happy to hear that you're going back again! Sparkly costume, hmmm... That could be a whole line of Disney characters. That could be a whole Disney MOVIE! I would say Tink, but I don't think you really are into her. I seriously don't know. I can't wait to find out and read about the Christmas portion of this report!

Our fall dates overlap!!! My dd8 will be so excited if our paths cross at all. She always likes to check Instagram and here for updates! She things you ladies are the coolest big girls in all of disney! She dosent know we're going yet, we're not going to tell her until we pick her up from musical theater school and drive straight to the air port on the 27th of September!

Yay for another trip!!! I hope everything falls into place for you. I also have to ask - where is there Half Price Movie Tuesday!?!? I used to religiously go to Free Movie Tuesday but Optimum doesn't do that anymore since all the Clearview theaters got bought out.

I had optimum too. Bow Tie Cinemas bought Clearview and they now offer 1/2 price every Tuesday at all their locations

It's been a trying last couple of months for me but we just decided a couple of days ago that a trip to Disney for the Food and Wine festival and MNSSHP would be exactly what we need to boost our spirits and I'm jumping out of my skin already!!! I saw the dates for Hanson's shows even before I found your trip report here and I told my DH that I'd bet Lia will be there . We will be there too so maybe a quick hello can be arranged as I'd love to see one of your costume creations (which are terrific by the way) up close!

The "Birthday Festivus" was technically our May 2013 trip. She reported on that in her College Program report. For our latest trip though, for my birthday in April 2014 when we did our cruise, she has not done a report. I think her reporting days are over for awhile after that giant 8 month CP report!

Thanks Timmy! As someone who has repeatedly spent way too much money on Disney trips when I should have been spending it on, you know, life's necessities... I can tell you I don't regret a single trip BUT you are probably making the right choice in being responsible.

I don't think you are allowed Walking Dead type outfits at MNSSHP. I can't remember the exact guidelines but anything even slightly bloody is prohibited so I think they'd probably screen someone in a zombie costume.

Day 3, Part 1 In Which We Eat Off Our Halloween Hangover

This morning, when the sun came up we were sound asleep. We were REALLY asleep. We were sleeping in the way you can only sleep after you have had one hell of a night. The kind of sleep that you wake up from and still feel ridiculously exhausted, and sore, like you've been through it. But it's good, it feels amazing, it feels like you have lived.

I get my thrills in Disney World, what can I say.

We couldn't sleep that late though for one very important reason: The Food & Wine Festival.

This festival is the best thing EVER besides Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. I can confirm this because it is clearly listed on page two of the very rare book The Best Things I Ever Did by God.

Maybe I'll show it to you sometime.

Anyway, the festival starts at 11:00 AM every morning in World Showcase. When I'm old and my Disney-loving husband and I are spending most of our trip lounging at the Beach Club, I imagine us rolling out of bed at 10:45, wandering over there and eating ourselves into a delicious food coma. WHAT A VACATION!!!

We blasted the Spice Girls on the way to the Epcot Resort Area cause we know how to live. Jess parked Brooke at the Boardwalk and we made our way over to those beautiful boards.

I had a pretty big Disney World moment. I finally saw this in person:

I had never entered the Boardwalk that way! I have seen pictures of this on the internet since I was like 15, so it was kind of like seeing a celebrity or something. I was like WHOA IT'S THAT THING. A vacation sensation!

Ahh, the beauty.

I then noticed the cutest thing ever. On the photobooth, Mickey and Minnie in their Boardwalk finest.

Then, we just had to take some pictures in the beautiful scenery.

Did I mention I wasn't quite over Halloween? Let the festivities continue!

What I love about these photos is Jess looks like a normal person and I look like an insane tourist who's lost and looking for the castle or something.

We walked on to Epcot and were stopped dead in our tracks. We are female and so when we saw this:

We froze and made various achey kind of noises. If you're getting married in Disney World you're pretty much golden. Like, I don't even know if I want to get married at WDW (I mean I DO but I also want to get married in Manhattan and also on the beach...) and I am not one of those girls who obsesses over finding the one and having the perfect day, but I think all women just have this thing that snaps when you walk past a wedding at the Boardwalk. I believe Jess and I held each other and rocked back and forth for several minutes. #ForeverAlone

Time to eat our feelings!!!

Our first stop was FRANCE!

Jess wanted to get the short ribs with mashed potatoes. I thought that sounded good, but I had bigger fish to fry. Not literally, just to be clear. I mean, this is the Food and Wine Festival, so I just want to make sure you know I wasn't actually frying any fish.

As she was ordering, I took this picture because I.... enjoyed their French outfits? Yeah, that sounds better than the real reason.

Boeuf Bourguignon (Braised Short Ribs in Cabernet with Mashed Potatoes) - $5.50

She ate on a trash can, as you do in Disney.

I wandered a bit.

I have to say this is one of my all-time BEST selfies. Which is really saying something because I am never one to turn down a good camera flip and pose. But here I am with MONET!

Jack and Rose would be so impressed. RIP!!!!

A guy noticed me taking the picture and offered to take a picture for me. I appreciated the kind gesture, but this is the age of the selfie and I didn't really need someone to take it for me. I accepted anyway though cause why not?

Jess finished and we marched on to Morocco, where I stopped to get a chicken roll.

Harissa Chicken Roll - $4.95

SO DELICIOUS!! I loved this and got it again later on in the trip. I am happy to report these are now available year round at Spice Road Table.

As you can see, I also had my passport stamped. These passports are free and you can get them stamped in every country that you buy something. One year I need to finally get my entire book stamped! It's a great souvenir so make sure you pick one up.

Our next stop was the Florida Fresh booth because I was in the mood for a burger and I knew they had one. I would normally not get something so common at a festival with such variety, but I was really in the mood.

Florida Grass Fed Beef Slider with Monterey Jack and Sweet & Hot Pickles $3.25

This hit the spot. It wasn't life changing but I wanted a burger and I got one so no complaints here.

Jess asked me if we could split it, but once it came we realized it was just too tiny! It would have been near impossible to share, so if you're thinking of doing that with the F&W burgers, I'd order one for each person.

We trekked on through the heat to the good ol' US of A where we both picked up something at the Hops & Barley booth. This was one of my favorites last year because of the Pumpkin Mousse which was unfortunately absent. It left a hole in my heart but I moved on with my life.

Jess got these:

Craisin® Bread Pudding with Grand Marnier Anglaise - $3.25

We weren't crazy about those. I think we each had one and the third got thrown out. Jess also got the Lobster Tail.

We knew where our next stop would be cause we were talking about it for a like a month - Italy! The ravioli was my favorite last year - you may remember me describing it as "Ravioli Lasagna" because that's really what it is.

Ravioli de formaggio all’emiliana - $5.75

Jess and I both give this five enthusiastic thumbs up. We don't have five thumbs each but we do have four between us and the fifth is for the inevitable hot Italian guy that will jump in and throw his thumb up too and yell VA BENE!

This is totally big enough to share between two people, by the way. Not that I really recommend that, but at the time we were starting to fill up.

The next thing I got was at the illustrious Cheese booth. It was definitely on the adventurous side - I probably should have just gone with the cheese plate, but this sounded interesting to me: Almond Crusted Blue Cheese Soufflé with Fig Jam - $3.25

There was nothing wrong with this, it was just a REALLY strong flavor so I couldn't finish all of it by a long shot. I would prefer the almond crusted cheese in a small dose as a topping rather than it being the whole plate.​

Day 3, Part 2 In Which Smee and Rafiki are Lost in Epcot​

We were pretty full by then so we decided to walk to Mouse Gear to again check for the princess sweater that Jess was obsessed with.

I traded Vinylmations and got this...

Not my favorite, but way better than the Hitler one from the May trip so I wasn't complaining.

These are the best ornaments. Halloween + Christmas is my life.

I also pin traded with some really nice Custodial CMs outside.

It was my goal to find Christmas pins and that was working out well!

No luck on the sweater, so we turned around and went to the Desserts & Champagne booth. I really wanted to get the dessert trio because A. DESSERT TRIO and B. The day I got stuck in Disney the year before, I was literally eating a dessert trio at that very booth when I was supposed to be at the airport flying home. Ahh, memories. However, I was way too full, so I just got the one that sounded the best to me: Morello Cherry Pistachio Mousse!!!

This was so good. Cherry and pistachio are two of my favorite flavors so being that they were used together, I was in Heaven.

Jess got this:

Which caused her to ask the funniest question ever: "Is this a drink or is this a food thing?" to the CM working there who replied, "Yeah... it's a drink. It's a, um, beverage."

It was called "Frozen S'mores". I think it was kind of like a milkshake but more icey. Jess said it was really good.

After that we planned on heading out. Like often in Disney World, our plans were thwarted by Rafiki.

Yeah, you know those giant gates that hide the special event area at World Showcase? They magically opened up and CHARACTERS APPEARED!

Jess and I had the typical 20-somethings reaction of screaming and darting over to them, swatting away children with a lacrosse stick.

We actually didn't get to meet Rafiki because Pluto was also there.

Jess is to Pluto as I am to Eugene Fitzherbert so she naturally lost it. He may be a dog, but don't be so judgmental: they're gonna have a good life together once human and cartoon animal marriage is legalized.

I was making my way over to Rafiki but then Jess went nuts cause Smee appeared! He doesn't do regular meets in the parks so we hadn't met him in a really long time. She even pulled out her fancy black autograph book, so I knew it was serious. Rafiki meets regularly at Animal Kingdom anyway, so it was fine, I just always forget to get over to Planet Watch!

Unfortunately, it was time for the characters to go inside already! It was just a really fast thing they do for training, I guess. It was really fun and exciting, I love surprises like that.

After the random character palooza, we went back to the Boardwalk AND SAW ANOTHER DISNEY WEDDING *chokes and dies on a hairball alone in apartment*

Check out the bridesmaid's feet. I love that and hate Bridezillas. Everyone can wear literally whatever they want to my wedding. I also love that her dress isn't just the traditional white. Jessica Simpson just got married in a champagne gown and it looked AMAZING. I love anything non-traditional because so many weddings are the same boring carbon copy of a million others. I'll stop rambling about weddings now.

I loved these cute little pumpkins they had out.

Jess had to go to the bathroom so we went over there and I enjoyed the penny machines.

I dug in my wallet for a penny only to realize that they don't work. Duh.

I took a photo of this, one of my favorite paintings

and then I realized I had to pee too? Duh again. So as Jess was coming out, I went in. Then we went to the lobby to look at the pin book and Taylor Hanson's wife was in front of us in line checking in LOL! I was like of course again I'm in the place Hanson is staying. I have literally done this about 400 times in my life without trying. I was so paranoid they were going to ambush me like they did during my Stuck in Disney trip, but I didn't see any of them. I got ready to act like a normal person just in case... but I guess they must have flown in later. I WAS SO EXCITED FOR THEIR SHOWS!!!!!!!!!! Just a couple more days and I would be seeing my favorite band in my favorite place... the biggest bliss of my life.

The Boardwalk had a Cast Member Pumpkin Carving Contest as well, and if you've read my reports before you know I am obsessed with these. Look how creative these are!!

The Up one especially... UNREAL!

So then we got lost in the parking lot and ended up in front of the Boardwalk sign, which was pretty funny. Eventually we made it to our next destination though, which was CAST CONNECTION!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

If you aren't aware, Cast Connection is a super cool secret store backstage near Magic Kingdom where only super cool people such as Cast Members (Jess) and their friends (moi) can shop for Disney merchandise at extremely discounted prices!! It's THE BEST. I didn't go as crazy as I had in May, but I got this adorable Dumbo photo magnet

and a Storybook Circus keychain. I guess I was in a Dumbo mood!

I also got the COOLEST THING EVER which is a white and grey Royal Doulton large dinner plate that was made for use at the Contemporary. It says Disney's Contemporary Resort on it in the old fashioned logo and I wanted to buy a bunch of them! I was afraid of even getting the one home safely though. I gave it to my mom as a gift because she loves Royal Doulton and collects some of their pieces... we didn't even know they custom made for Disney. Resort merchandise that was just meant to be used at the resort and not sold is the most awesome part of Cast Connection, I just love it!! They had a million of these plates and most of them were scratched in some way but I found a good one. I was so happy!

They also had tons and tons of Magic Kingdom popcorn buckets from Halloween 2008. I totally would have purchased one if not for the fact that I already bought one when I was there in October of that year. It's amusing to me that they had this mass amount of old Halloween popcorn buckets just sitting somewhere.

The last thing I got was some Alice & Wonderland buttons for Gina and I of the Mad Hatter and White Rabbit. She was coming the next day so I thought why not get her a little present?
