We've recently adopted a new puppy. At the pound they had his breed as Lhasa Apso but I'm curious if he might be a mix. He's about 5lbs at around 4 mths. His coat is very soft; doesn't shed but does seem to have a bit of curl. I thought Lhasa's typically had straight hair so wonder if he might have a little poodle.

Here are some pictures.

It does look like a mix to me but I am no expert. DH grew up with them and he said he is pretty sure that isnt a purebred. The nose doesnt like a Lhassa to me.

Here are some more pictures for you. They can vary quite a lot.

The face looks like some sort of terrier, although I can't say what kind. Sorry, I guess that wasn't very helpful ;)

The pup is VERY cute and good for you for rescuing him. I hope he makes a nice addition to your family!

He has the Lhasa or Shih Tzu face with the underbite so I'm sure that is where they got the breed. One we got the hair cut his build is close to our Yorkie / Poodle mix and his hair is similar so that's what made us think Poodle. Really doesn't matter; we usually keep our dogs hair short. The Yorkie / Poodle mix has combination hair that sticks almost straight out when it gets long so he looks much better short.
