I was planning on flying Alaskan into SNA, now Allegiant is having a sale into LGB, I would save around $100.00. :thumbsup2 I have a couple of questions, we would be arriving in LGB at 9:00 pm, are there Taxis waiting outside? What is the fare difference approximately, to a hotel on Harbour? We would have to leave at about 6:00pm to get back for our return flight, do most hotels hold your luggage for you?

Thanks for any help. :goodvibes

i hear taxis are a flat rate of 45 bucks from lgb to the harbor but a little more coming back like 55.

when you going?

you can also try supper shuttle or zippy shuttle zippy quoted me 90 round trip.

you can also look into renting a car i can get a car for my trip for 90 bucks.

There are taxis right outside waiting @ LGB. There is also a rental car facility right across the parking lot.
Personally, I would choose Alaska Air over Allegiant any day. Keep in mind that Allegiant will charge you for seat selection. Have you flown them before? We recently had a flight out of BLI to Las Vegas on Alaska and were waiting in the same area as Allegiant passengers. I've never seen such Chaos! All those without reserved seats were last to board and the flight looked full.
Of course I have never flown on them, so my impression could be entirely wrong.

yeah i agree never flown with them but allegiant looks like cheaper airfare until you go through the process and it nickles and dimes you to death and ends up being more.

I have flown allegiant before, they are fine. I refuse to pay for priority boarding as the plane doesn't leave till everyone is on. :goodvibes But even with the seat selection, it will still be $100 dollars less and a direct flight to boot. Last time I flew Allegiant if you got to the airport early you could pick from the seats that were left, and we ended up sitting together. This time with kids, I will be paying to pick the seats for me and the kids, the husband can find his own seat. :lmao:

Ha - put the husband with the kids and seat yourself somewhere else! That's the smart way to fly.

In that case LGB is great, and a direct flight is always a plus:thumbsup2. LGB is a really cute little airport, kind of retro, and only about 20 min to DLR. If you plan to rent a car at all they are open until 10 pm only, but you should be ok with a 9pm arrival.
