:goodvibes So we are considering trying the LGB airport for the first time but we are wondering if anyone knows of a decently priced limo service from this airport? Or how do you usually get to DL from LGB? TIA!

I am flying to Long Beach in Feb. About $150 each way for limo. Taxi is about $40 to the hotel, but may be more returning, as they run the meter rather than flat rate. You can hire shuttle express, which ends up being about $90 each way for a van full of people. Rental cars are very easy to get and the trip is pretty quick and easy if you don't mind driving. All that being said, we are still undecided on what we are going to do.

Hey Thanks for taking the time to respond! :goodvibes We got a quote from one limo service for 89 each way plus airport tax...which who knows how much that is! And then tip so it'll probably be 150...thanks again :thumbsup2

We rent a car when we fly into LGB. The car rentals are directly across the street...literally about 50 feet away. It is super easy.

I have found the past 2 trips that Alamo is the cheapest in Long Beach. I always use Costco Travel (their online tool is easy to navigate). This trip (we leave this coming Thursday - woo hoo! :cool1:) our total price for 6 days rental with tax and everything for a full sized car is $144. There are 4 of us, and I think that is pretty reasonable. We would spend close to that for a shuttle, but with a car we can go to the grocery store and the Disney outlet too (which we like to do at least once a trip).

Good luck deciding what is best for you.

I was talking to DH and I guess he booked us a rental through costco and alamo earlier today and didn't tell me  But yes, sounds like it was a good deal. We will be there the first week of june and the car is only like 183 for six days...before they prorate for the free day. So thats nice. Which'll be about 146 ish too. Very nice and good price! :thumbsup2

Krissy,

One more piece of advice. Since your dates are so far out, keep looking at the prices on Costco Travel. I have found that periodically they go down....so you may even be able to save more. Every $ counts!

Thanks!!! :goodvibes Will do! I am constantly checking our airfare prices too! They went down for our april visit and I got us some vouchers so now I check often :thumbsup2

We just went and I bid on a rental car through Priceline. I got a car from Alamo for either $12 or $13/day - it was way cheaper even for 5 whole days that it would've been to take a cab.

I also would recommend bidding on priceline. We got a great deal on a minivan when we went and it was cheaper than shuttle express for the whole time.

We used a transportation co Called Kim Sontha Trans. (562) 396-8106. It was recommended here on the Dis. It was $48 each way and included the airport tax. We were picked up in black Toyota Highlader with full leather package. Very nice and clean. Our driver met us at the luggage claim area. He went to move the car around before our luggage came around and then he took it over to the car for us. The total process from getting off the plane and into the car was less than 15 minutes. Super easy! He was waiting at the hotel for the return ride back to the airport. Traffic was VERY heavy and a metered cab would have been $$$$$$$$

Just got back today and flew into Long beach for the first time. I rented a car on priceline, a full sized and we paid 126.00 it was from Hertz. Easy place to rent a car, literally right across the street. Didn't use it much, but cheaper then a cab back and forth and a cab to the store.

After the recommendations here, I decided to throw caution in the wind and bid on Priceline for the very first time.

My first bid was rejected...it was way low (but I had to give it a shot)!

But, I just tried it again (2 days later) and it was accepted. For our 6 day stay our total price for a full-sized car will be $116. Which is, I think, a great price. The rental car company is Avis.

Sweet.

Thanks for all of the fantastic advice!
