Has anyone else gotten a letter with a reply to the question on the privacy act and Disney Vacation Club sharing your name, address, and other information that they have on file about you and your family with third party sources?

We got one yesterday and will be returning it asking them to not share this information with third party sources.

The privacy laws changed, so expect letters from everyone (banks, credit card companies, companies where you are a shareholder, etc.) I seem to get one or two a week.

For some reason, I got 2. One just had my name and the other had Ms and my name.

I have gotten about 15 of these letters from various people I do business with. I also have seen this a bit from the other side as I am on the board of directors of a financial institution that was bound by the new law and had to make the appropriate disclosures with compliance determination made by us as the board of directors in conjunction with the federal examiner.

Yes, we got ours yesterday too! I am thinking they mail them all out around the same time.

New federal regulations require all compaines to send their privacy statements out to everyone who does business with them by 7/1/2001. The company I work for set out over 70,000 letters in April, and we continue to do so for any new customer. I've received dozens of these letters at home, many with a return reply option to request the company not to share any information about you with other companies.

The law changed, and every one has to notify their customers. We have gotten many of these at home from banks, insurance, credit card companies. At work we give everyone who comes in a flyer too.

I received one in the mail and we just signed a contract to purchase a resale two weeks ago.

we got our privacy notice from dvc the other day too, but not in the mail. i was puttering around the house doing laundry when the doorbell rang. imagine my surprise to see michael eisner himself on the doorstep! mike came into my house without asking, and shoved a copy of the privacy notice into my hand. he explained that i could really trust disney to only use the information that they gathered about their customers for worthwhile pursuits. mike also vowed never to share this information with anyone else, unless it was strictly necessary to improve net margins or accelerate cross-selling of affiliated merchandise. mr. eisner's next remarks were somewhat muffled, as he was poking through my medicine cabinet and pantry, and scribbling notes furiously on a small clipboard. in less then ten minutes he had left, and, peering out the window of my front door, i saw him sidling into our neighbor's house.
