We just received a letter this morning from Disney about Pleasure Island closing for refurbishment on 27 September 2008. This will see a closure of the night clubs and will mean that Pleasure Island will no longer be included on the premium 5 and 7 day tickets and the ultimate 14 and 21 day tickets. Other facilities will remain open and available at DTD.
They have added Disney's Oak Trail Golf Course as an entitlement to theme park tickets (tee time reservations required subject to availability).

I guess they think they are substituting an adult orientated experience for the one they have added.

Not everyone plays golf just like not everyone went to the clubs so it will be interesting to see if many people use this feature.

they announced the Pleasure Island closing a few months ago...
lots of people have been petitioning disney about the adventurers club (which i won't miss as i wasn't a fan)..
i'll miss the comedy club..

as for the golf substitution on the 14/21 day ultimate tickets....those two tickets are so far superior to what disney offers to non-uk people that in my opinion they don't really need to add anything to make up for the loss of PI...
although if they really feel the need, the appropriate replacement for pleasure island would be Jelly Rolls on the boardwalk...

I personally feel different. Just because the ticket is better than the ones offered for non-UK people part of the ticket is the use of PI and I still feel there should be some compensation for this! I purchased my ticket before the announcement and I am travelling after it and I am not amused by it.

I agree with you though it would be appropriate for it to include Jelly Rolls admission but they wont (I asked!)

Do you just ring up and book tee time.

As i am going in october nad have 14 day tickets and would mind another round of golf while there

It would be awesum if they allowed free entry to Jellyrolls on a 14 day ticket instead. Absolutely love the place:thumbsup2

you're absolutely right...i wasn't thinking about the people who booked long before the announcement...
golf is a terrible compensation for those people who don't golf (probably the majority).....

Especially when its not a real golf course its only 9 holes!

and unless you have your own clubs you will have to give Disney $15 to use this 'extra'
I also would guess (as WDW guests get preferred T times) that if offsite it would be pretty hard to get a T time.

As far as we can tell you just ring them on 0870 2424900 o this number you can book holidays, make your ADRs and book Fireworks Cruises and golf tee times.
