So Balsilie has started pre orders for season tickets for Hamilton for when he gets to move the team up here from Nashville I ponied up my cash for a deposit on a couple seats it is fully refundable. I truly hope he gets the purchase approval and the relocation approval. If you go to www.ticketmaster.ca you can find the info about putting a deposit on season tickets for Hamilton the deposit is 500.00/seat for upper bowl 1000.00 a seat for lower bowl and 5000.00/private box.

DH and I are debating whether or not to put a deposit down on 2 season tickets.

Is it going to be a good investment?

We would likely only go to maybe 5-6 games a year and sell off the rest.

We are Leaf fans and that may be the best and cheapest way to see the Leafs more than once a year.

What do you think the season ticket prices are going to be?

dont know what the prices would be but if you do buy seasons tickets, I would buy a few pairs for sure...

Not to sure I just know the deposit costs currently and it is fully refundable. I know we are going to be getting atleast 4 seats between myself and the wife and my dad and my sister and her fiance.

I really hope Hamilton gets the team, so we can have a 7th CDN franchise but honestly, I can see this falling apart b4 it happens.

Balsillie is a smart guy, but I just can't figure out why he's doing all this Hamilton stuff so soon. He doesn't even own the team yet, and u know Bettman doesn't want another CDN team, especially in southern Ontario.

2/3's of the league have to back this deal, and hopefully they will. You can bet Buffalo will apose lol. The Leafs may back it, cuz in some ways this helps them in the sense that they will save money by not having to give Nashville money.

That being said, hopefully they come.

Just put the $2000 deposit down this afternoon:cool1:
Yes, I know I'm probably crazy, but who can resist:confused3
Gotta have something to occupy our time between trips to disney.:)

Well I found an interesting article today apparently Jim Can break the lease with Nashville by paying them 27 million even if they do reach the 14K plus for average paid attendance he would then have to pay 27 million but honestly what is 27 million to a guy with Billions. Here is the link to the story.

Actually Buffalo doesn't have much negotiating power on this as Hamilton is 110 kilometers from Buffalo which puts it outside the 80 Kilometer infringement area.

Yea, but 20% of Buffalo's season ticket holders are CDN they figured, and many of them are probably coming from the GTA/Golden Horseshoe area.

If Hamilton comes in, that 20% may shift towards Hamilton. Not to mention all the ppl that wanna see cheaper hockey (rather than paying Leaf prices) may go to Hamilton and not travel as far to see Buffalo.

Hey, but I'm 100% for it:D I just hope the NHL doesn't decline his offer. IMO Hamilton could easily supposrt an NHL team, and the Leafs wont be hurt one bit.

BTW does this mean since im a die hard Leafs fans I have to dislike Hamilton instantly lol?

Well I think the NHL is sitting back and scratching their heads and hoping to avoid an Al Davies kinda thing that the NFL went through with him and the Oakland Raders then he moved them to LA then back to Oakland and the league was powerless to do anything about it.

I haven't been following the current situation with Hamilton too closely but I can provide some insight into a previous attempt to get the NHL into Hamilton. If you go back to the expansion that brought Ottawa & Tampa Bay into the league, only one person had a deal for a rink and showed up with cheque in hand at the expansion meetings - Ron Joyce, who wanted to bring the NHL to Hamilton. He was incredibly disappointed when the league instead brought in teams with questionable financing and no arenas. He was initially led to believe that the Hamilton expansion was stopped by Buffalo but it was indeed Toronto that prevented the NHL from expanding into Hamilton and I am quite sure will continue to do so. There is absolutely no way that they will allow a dilution of their broadcast rights in that market.

Yea they probably will. I'm a huge Leafs fan, but I hope they don't. The market in the GTA is huge and can easily support 2 teams. Hamilton has 500,000 alone, with Mississauga having 700,000. Granted most ppl here in Sauga r die hard leafs fans, but they will go to Hamilton just because tickets will be easier to get.

In some ways though, it will actually help the Leafs.

Since Toronto is by far the most profitable team in the NHL, they pay the most into the pool that gets split between the lowest profit teams. Nashville loses a lot of money, and by moving to Hamilton, odds are they would make a lot of money. So the Leafs wouldn't have to "support" them anymore lol.
