We are back from our stay at POP on the DDP. We only took DD2 this trip..she eats more than any of us though!!! The cast is..

Me! I am 23 and wanted to be a chef since I could remember! I love food, Disney, food, DIS, food and my family...oh and FOOD!

Husband...30 (31 in March but SHHHHH) Husband loves food too..mostly steak and taters. Oh the taters...all kinds of taters..tater casserole, church taters, fried taters, hashbrown taters, mashed taters, baked taters, red taters....TATERS!!! He is beginning to eat more seafood but last trip it was steak and taters everywhere!

Here's me and the hubby

DD2...this one eats and eats and eats. She loves just about anything including seafood, steak..TATERS..and bagels with cream cheese. I asked her what she loves to eat and her response was "mmm..chicken nuggets, french fries and dip"

I missed some pictures - sorry.

I hope you will enjoy my review and I PROMISE to get through all of this one!

We're starting to get ready to leave and I am getting hungry!!! We are still trying to get into 'Ohana for our first night but if not then we will be keeping GFC. I am thinking we'll eat at Columbia Harbor House for QS meal when we get there. If there is free wifi at the resort (rumored to be) then I will post live while we are there!!! I could post live from my phone however I can't post pictures...I could always post the pictures after we get home. What do you all think? Live report with pictures later or just wait until we get home?

Great start. Can't wait to read your TR when you get back.

Your DD2 is adorable! :goodvibes

Glad to have you on board!!! I was surprised she had a smile on her face since we were in the car for 16 hours the day before :scared1: since you're the first on, is there a specific place you think we should eat a CS meal at?

We arrived at Pop and decided to check out Everything Pop for some lunch.

015.jpg

The chicken tenders and fries were actually pretty good. The fries were fresh which was nice. There was also a nice variety of sauce options - they even had honey and I LOVE honey on chicken and fries.

The thing wrapped in parchment paper was a "cheesesteak wrap" It was shredded steak ems type beef with some onions and cheese wrapped in a flour tortilla. I put some hot sauce on it and that helped. It just really had no flavor, but it wasn't bad.

Tye dye cheesecake - I have been waiting to try this. It's got 2 layers to it..one is cake and the other is cheesecake. My husband couldn't really get past the multi color thing but I thought it tasted pretty good. My husband ate the chocolate cake thing..he said it was more like dark chocolate and it was a bit bitter

Your DD is adorable!

The Pop food looks good! I have some good experiences there.

Looking forward to more popcorn::

Positives - Quiet, meal time
Negatives - service, seafood options

So I wanted to find a place on the monorail for our first night. Since this trip was booked on short notice there weren't many options left. I had heard that the GF Cafe was a nice place to eat so I decided we should try it.

My husband decided to get the "Bone-in New York Strip Steak - house-mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables and bordelaise"

054.jpg

He thought the steak was well cooked (so did DD2 :lmao:). He thought the sauce added nice flavor. The vegetable were well cooked and flavorful. Once he cleaned his plate, he moved onto finishing mine...

I got the "Braised Lamb Shank - cheddar cheese grits, garlic-scented broccolini, natural jus, and citrus gremolat"

053.jpg

This portion was HUGE! This meal was very yummy. I had never had lamb so this was a leap for me as I usually don't like dark meat. Its was fall off the bone tender and flavorful. The grits were a nice complement and allowed me to take bites with everything mixed. The only down side is I could only eat about a 1/3 before the texture got to me. DH didn't mind finishing it. He did agree that with the lamb being so tender and creamy grits, the texture began to get a little off-putting.

DD got french fries (she ate some of our dishes)

055.jpg

These were yummy! Crispy and thick and gooooood.

We both got the "Chocolate Fondue - Dark Chocolate Ganache with Fruit"
I didn't get pictures of this but imagine a bowl of melted chocolate with an orange flavor and some stuff for dipping. There was bananas and marshmallows (which DD2 promptly stole :scared1:)

Welcome back, and thanks for taking the time to do this report. Your family is so cute!

The GF cafe looks so good! We really hope to give it a try some trip.

She gets her adorablness from me  Pop wasn't bad...we had another meal later in the trip which I forgot pictures from. They had a good variety

Thank you! The GF cafe was a quiet place to eat. It just seemed so old..too much floral is what my husband said :rotfl: It was nice to do on an MK night when we could take the monorail.

Great start! I'm in!

Great to have you aboard!

Positives - easy to order, good variety
Negatives - Too many choices :lmao:, loud

I was really looking forward to eating at sunshine seasons after I had seen a seared tuna dish in another review. I LOVE seared tuna :lovestruc We Did all we could in future world then headed off to The Land Pavilion for lunch.

My husband decided to get the Reuben Panini with potatoes

087.jpg

I was suprised he got this. He doesn't like saurkraut or thousand island dressing :confused3 He likes in on a sandwich. He thought this was really good and perfect for a lunch. I took a bite and, although I get my reubens on sourdough, I thought it was really flavorful. He couldn't decide on the potatoes and gave up on them about half way through.

I got the Togarashi Seared Tuna Noodle Salad

085.jpg

This was yummy!!!! The tuna had a spice which was easily cooled by the cold noodles and vegetables. It was a huge portion and easily shared if someone wanted to. My husband is not so much the raw fish eater so he didn't want to share...fine with me :thumbsup2

DD2 got a side ceasar salad

086.jpg

She ate most of it. I thought it was a little soggy since it was already dressed when we ordered it.

For dessert we got a chocolate mouse cake and a triple chocolate brownie

088.jpg

Hello chocolate! These were rich and moist and yummy and yummy and also they were very yummy. DD ate the cake like she was the German kid from Willy Wonka :rotfl2:

Positives - endless crab legs, service, coloring on the table
negatives - cleanliness of the buffet line, variety of food

I was really excited to eat here. I love crab legs and when you have to stand in a line for them at a chinese buffet then fight everyone who didn't wait in line to get one measly bunch..I said "I bet Disney won't make me do all that"

DH's first plate

175.jpg

Like I said, there wasn't much variety so this is what all of his 3 plates looked like. He thought the good was really good though. It was fresh and plentiful.

My plate

173.jpg

Seafood!!! I though the clams were a little overdone, but clams are easily overdone. I continued to refill my plate with the same stuff :thumbsup2

DD's plate

174.jpg

She ate most of it. The chicken nuggets were like frozen bagged ones  I guess I would have expected at least tenders instead.

Our desert plates

176.jpg

177.jpg

178.jpg

The little yellow tart was key lime pie - yummy. The pink thing was rasberry cheesecake - not bad at all. The brown things are oreo bon bons. Here is a pic of the inside

179.jpg

It was creamy and yummy and tasty and I had more than you see on the plates

Overall this place was good. I would absolutely eat here again and will!

Great reviews so far. Sorry I didn't see your question earlier. ;)

Glad you liked the seared tuna at SS. It's one of our favorites and so surprising that you can get seared tuna at a CS location.

Waiting for more....

Great reviews and your dd is adorable but tell me what on earth are church potatoes?

Thank you! Church potatoes are the hashbrown ones mixed with cheese and onion with a layer of cheese on top. We call them church potatoes because usually someone brings them to a potluck (church, work, school, etc).

I was suprised to...it was cold and refreshing. Would have been great during our trip in September when it was 90+ the whole week.

Positives - Indoors, plenty of seating
Negatives - Not enough choices

Hollywood Studios has gotten some pretty bad reviews when it comes to food options. I was looking at the map and decided that ABC Commisary looked appealing.

DH got the 1/3 lb Angus Cheeseburger and Fried Shrimp with fries

253.jpg

They forgot the shrimp so I had to go back to the counter to get it (it's on the next picture). He said the burger wasn't bad. He said the bun wasn't as dry as everyone on the boards had said. The shrimp were crispy and not to greasy. He thought the fries were pretty good too. Nice potato ratio.

I went with battered fried fish and fries.

254.jpg

I thought it was pretty good. It absolutly was not beer battered fish you would get at a pub or something of that sort. It also wasn't nearly as bad as fish sticks. The only downside is it was pretty greasy.

For desert we got the Chocolate Mousse and the no sugar added Strawberry Parfait. I took a bite of both and didn't like them. The hubby ate the chocolate mouse but agreed that the parfait was too tart. I wish cookies was an option

thanks for the great reviews...

LOOking forward to the rest of your trip...

When we did the Clambake, I was not impressed with the clams...Maine clams are bigger and for some reason these were really small...We go to the chinese buffet to get crab legs and steamers now...

Thanks again

Thanks! We do seafood in the fall a lot on the grill. All the shell fish gets thrown on then 2 uncles sit and shuck so everyone can eat :thumbsup2

AND LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!

This was a must repeat NOW! We had so much fun here last time and couldn't wait to go back! Last time our server must have been new but this time we had one who was all into character from the instant we sat down (1.5 hour after our ADR time :scared1:)

We started with the bottomless milkshakes

293.jpg

And some cornbread

290.jpg

and come complimentary chips (the best they could do since we had to wait fooooorrrrrrrreeeeeeevvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeerrrrrrr)

292.jpg

My husband and I both got the skillet which started with salad

289.jpg

Then they brought out the skillet (the pic is from last trips but it's the same food)

159.jpg

My husband loves this meal...he said it was everything he remembered! I didn't get the skillet last time and I really wasn't a fan of it. I thought the meat was all dry. Good thing I had plenty of YUMMY cornbread and DELICIOUS chips and FABULOUS milk shakes to keep me busy!

We didn't have to yell for ketchup this trip but my DD2 did get to do the horse parade which she loved...we will be back for this one for sure!

This was the one breakfast I wanted to use a TS credit for...why you ask? 2 words....POOH EARS!

302.jpg

303.jpg

304.jpg

All of it was yummy...I love this place.....any questions? ;)
