Let's talk Ride Swap!

I have a question also!! after you get your child swap pass, when you go get in line.. do you go through the fast pass line or regular line? My DS is almost 4 and may be adhd.. I don't know how he will handle the long lines :/

When you go to use the swap ticket, you go in the fastpass line. It works like a fastpass - which is the beauty of it.

are there any rides that does NOT use a swap pass?

Babyswap only works on rides with height restrictions. Doesn't matter if the ride has fastpass or not (although I can't off the top of my head think of a ride with a height restriction that doesn't have fastpass)

Rides without a height restriction don't offer babyswap. It's intended for a situation when a child is not allowed to ride, not just when someone doesn't want to ride.

The only rides that use rider swap are those with height restrictions. You have to have a child that is under that height. Occasionally a CM will allow a swap when you have a kid that meets the height but doesn't want to do the ride but that technically isn't how rider swap is set up to work.

I believe they also make the exception for a party member who is physically unable to ride and can't be left alone. Severely disabled adults could qualify.

So does that mean you don't need a fastpass...just get the swap ticket and immediately get into the fastpass line without waiting??

How would they prevent someone from getting a baby swap pass, leaving to go to another ride, then coming back and getting another one, so both parents can go through the FP line?

No generally the CM won't give the parent staying behind the rider swap until they see the other parent get in line.

No the rider swap ticket is for the parent riding 2 to use after the first parent/adult rides. The first parent needs to ride via the standby line or if they have a FP they can use that to enter the FP line.

Okay, I'm not sure how you're imagining this.

DH, Baby and I get to Space Mountain. DH uses the stand by line. I wait with Baby. At some point in the process (it varies) DH is given a Ride Swap pass for me to use later.

If DH gets the pass and leaves the line, he does not ride Space Mountain and we have a pass that lets us use the FP line...

But how do you propose we both ride Space Mountain? There's this baby, you see...

You wouldn't ride with Dh. The pass would lessen the wait. You would take turns watching the baby.

Well, you'd have to wait until the CM who gave you the pass went on break, cause you're not going to get 2 rider switch passes from the same CM. Seems like waiting in the standby line would be a better use of time.

I think she meant getting two RS Passes and then both parents could use the fast pass line but not together.

In response to that - the CM's in my experience don't' just hand them out :) They will make sure you have a member of your party who isn't eligible to ride and will only hand them out if you enter the line and they will probably remember that you just got one !

I guess if you wanted to spend your day tricking CM's into handing out extra RS Passes you probably could but it would be time consuming and stressful.

An easier way is just to get FP's for the party riding first and then use the RS Pass for the party riding 2nd. Same end result without the trickery.

I am not planning on tricking anybody. I think my LO will not be happy if I ride something that he cannot, even if someone else were to take him to another ride during that time. I doubt we will use the child swap at all.

I just asked what safeguards there were to prevent someone from doing so. It seems like the kind of system that can be easily abused.

It would be hard to abuse, honestly. They make you show them the kid who can't ride and since someone has to stay with a kid that small, there's not really a way to cheat. I am thinking about it using my "sneaky brain" and I can't come up with a good way to game the system.
