Ok, here's a good one...

Yesterday we take a ride up to the cabin to check progress on the fireplace room. Then we travel another 1 1/2 hours to check out this furniture place that was recommended to us. Of all the things to buy, what do we buy?

A towel bar. One stinkin' towel bar.

Here is the cabin. I finally figured out how to log back into my photobucket account. But it's resized the pictures funny. How do I fix that? Anyway, right off the kitchen doors will be the new vaulted outdoor fireplace room.

Your cabin is amazing! We hope to build something similar in a couple of years but these darn kids are just so expensive!

Tell me about it. Our teens eat us our of house and home and their activities fees are out of sight. Literally, the money I make working my job goes to their activities....band, swim, lacrosse, piano, guitar, clarinet, etc.....

Like I've said before either it's going to be the smartest thing we ever did or the dumbest. This cabin better rent and rent well.

If I had a pool that great in a nice warm climate, you would never see me around here again. If we don't see you, we know you're in the pool. Enjoy it.

Soak up some sun while relaxing in that pool! I wouldn't have a care in the world with a pool like that.

DH has sent pics of our wet bar & fireplace to a friend that's does house plans & has done some building. We're trying to figure out what's up to date right now & if we're going "over-remodel" our house for our neighborhood. We know we need to sheetrock the rest of the den walls ( wallpaper covered paneling) but we will have to decide if we are going to change the fireplace & wet bar first. Making those changes will probably be pretty expensive.

well they are about 3/4 done with the painting it looks really nice so far. We went with "black suede" for the shutter paint. Those are going to be done later today.

We have figured out all of the puzzle that is the railing for out front, this is what happens when you buy something at a yard sale you dont always get the instructions. Oh well. We have to trim it down but I think we can manage.


I am off to work darn it, wont be here to help They have to scrape the garage and that will be most of the day today I think.

Oh and I FINALLY got new faucets for the guest bathroom I am SO excited!!!

Aww so sad you couldn't stay home from work today. I know you must be dying to scrape paint off the garage!

AMITY, Your pool is really coming along and looking great! You must be getting so excited!!

Mickeysgal, Your cabin is gorgeous!! I'd love to see more pics of the inside, like the kitchen!

Well finally the glass shower doors are installed. All we are waiting on now is for the big slab of stone to be mounted on the other side of that wood vanity inside the shower.
I told DH that we just have to switch out all the shower heads and hand held to oil rubbed bronze to match the faucets in the sink.(And They are only 2 years old.) I thought he would fight me on it, but he agreed and called the plumber on the spot.
Here's some pics. I don't know if you can tell in the pic, but part of the countertop extends into the shower. That was DH's design.

Here's the front part of the bathroom. (You can see the tile floor in this pic) You can see I keep little toothbrushes for the grandbabies!

the main colour is california stucco by behr, the shutters are black suede by behr and the trim is a warm white that I dont know the name of the colour.


Its so hot outside right now that its tough to be out there. We are taking a bit of a break. I will go take a picture and you can see the in progress shot at least

We firgured out the railing and that will go up tomorrow. We have 3 shutters left to go! Hooray we are almost there.

Floor is IN, but still have the trim to do and now have to do some touch up painting in spots.... We took out the stove to put down the floor underneath it and decided to just go ahead and get the new one while we were at it!!!
So tomorrow, we pick up the NEW STOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, NOW I have ALL NEW APPLIANCES for the very first time in my entire life
Pics will come as we get finished.

whew. I LOVE the floor. It is Mediterranean Teak and I was a bit worried it would be too dark with the oak cupboards, but I LOVE it
I do HOPE it holds up to the dogs' toenails....
