Do you have a collection?

We do and they are in a cardboard case that is NOW crazy heavy (wasn't heavy 30 years ago LOL) so I'm looking to update storage for this 30 YO collection, anyone have a good way to store them? Wheels maybe?

dh's are in comic book boxes (the cardboard type). about a year ago i FINALLY got him to use one of the free online resources to create an invantory for insurance purposes.

Yes, I have a collection. Mostly classic Disney reprints from the 80s & 90s from this company. They included many, many interviews with Carl Barks, who was still alive then.

They'll be part of my daughter's inheritance. I read many of them to her when she was a toddler, just as my mom read to me when I was that age.

I'm not seeing any advancements past the cardboard rectangles so maybe I just get a cheap dolly for storing under it?

I have something like 20,000 comic books! They are all in "long boxes" the cardboard case you mentioned. I have over 30 of those. They are not all in bags with boards though. For storage, just keep them in a dry place, They are best not left in a shed, attic, or basement if you want to protect them.

If they are valuable put them in an acid free folder inside the box, store in a cool dry place. When I set up the archives at our library I used a ton of the acid free folders and acid free tissue paper. While things were stored in cardboard in a cool dry area they were still falling apart, because they didn’t have the acid free liner.

Does manga count? lol I have a small One Piece collection but there are over 100 volumes so I don't think I'll be getting all of them any time soon.

If not, then I don't think I've ever owned an actual comic outside of Batman The Killing Joke, which I had to read for college and somehow I kept the copy I bought for that class.

Mostly have graphic novels and tend to get the hard cover editions if available. Have a small collection (by the standards in this chat) of Star Wars Marvel comics from late 70's / early 80's that are stored with bags and boards.

My husband has been collecting comic books for nearly 50 years. Everyone is protected in a clear plastic cover, in the "box" that are for comic books (dimension wise), in alphabetical order and categorized (Spider Man, Fantastic 4, Avengers, etc.) He has a comic book room with heavy wire shelves (all measure to fit). A local comic book store sells those boxes. If you google "boxes for comic books", it comes up. I've never seen boxes with wheels but I know keeping them off the floor/ground is very important. That's why he has shelves.

according to my adult kids it does and my 30something insurance agent had us to invantory them along with dh's comic books b/c if you go looking to replace some of the individual volumes it can get pretty costly. i've kept an invantory of my ever increasing 2K plus movie collection (vhs,dvd,bluray) for years 'just in case' but when i was reviewing our homeowner's insurance with our agent last year and we started talking about such stuff he encouraged doing one for the comics, the graphic novels, the manga and esp. video games (esp. the older stuff my household has that now sell for several hundred per game). it all adds up.
