Let's talk Boma's for dinner...

Boma is generally well-liked. I don't think you'll have much to worry about. :thumbsup2

Just wanted to add, while I dislike it, I would definitely try it at least once. I wanted to like it (which is why I gave it a 2nd shot), but like some foods it just isn't my style. Great place in general though!!! And honestly if everyone but me wanted to eat there, I'd still go and I know I would walk away starved at least.

We love Boma! We love it so much that we had our rehearsal dinner there! I love the desserts, the hummus selection, the coconut curry shrimp soup, the salads. I could go on and on.

And I would agree that it's better than Jiko, IMHO.

However, with that said, I'm not nuts about the breakfast buffet. Nothing impressive, but I don't eat big breakfasts very often, and I didn't see much on the menu to get excited about.

For dinner, we've been eating early but no more after our last trip. Way too many misbehaving children that early. We're going to eat later next time.

We thought it was ok. The resort is definitely beautiful and the dining room is very nice as well. It is also very different from all of the other buffets (which, to me, really start to taste the same).

The food was good, but I got tired of what seemed to be the same spice throughout. From the chicken/corn porridge to the roasted pork dish, everything tasted like cinnamon and it was all sweet. I enjoyed the dishes at the beginning, but got tired of the sweetness (and trust me, I absolutely do not lack a sweet tooth!) I did, however, think that the varieties of Hummus were terrific.

While I wouldn't necessarily go again, I would tell people to try it because it is different. I think my expectations were a little too high because I have rarely read a negative review. I was glad that I didn't tell everyone in my party that we were going to "the best buffet of all time" because they would have seriously been let down. Instead, I told them that we were going to check out a beautiful resort and try a new type of cuisine. In the end, DH thought it was pretty good (not excellent) and the kids (16,14,12,11,9) thought it was only ok.

try Boma's again after reading everyone's postings. We ate there last time and had a 2+ hour wait. We were hungry and tired when we finally got to sit down and eat. We didn't enjoy the meal. I thought the food was OK, but that may just be because I was tired and just wanted go to sleep.
