I'm sitting here without my itinerary and wondering some things....

Does it replace regularly scheduled EHMs?

What is different between it and any other EMH evening? From what I can find, they give the kids a few plastic beads. I look at the price and think, "Oriental Trading, $3.98...savings:$90".

I guess I don't know enough about the program since I'm not coming up with any reason why my 7 and 12 year old sons would want to participate.

Could some of you who have done this or who plan to do this let me in the secret of what it's all about?

Thanks!pirate:

We did the PPP primarily for my DS 8. He is a hugh pirates fan, he does the most amazing Captain Jack impression. The opportunity to meet and greet Captain Jack was wonderful. When we went you could only do the meet and greet at the PPP, I don't know if it has changed.

The fireworks were amazing and the parade was fun. Everyone received a bag which we could fill with candy and jewels throughout the park. We really enjoyed it and hope to go again, maybe not PPP but another "hard ticket" event.

It was pricey but in my opinion well worth the money to see my son's face with Jack.

We has a great time at a P&PP at the end of January!

The best part was we practically walked onto every ride we rode - lines were short or non-existent. The difference between P&PP and regular EMH is that EMH is open to anyone staying onsite. P&PP is only for those that bought tickets and tickets are limited so it seems to lead to shorter ride lines.

My DD loved finding the treasure spots and getting the jewels but she is only four - your sons might find that boring.

The parade was very good and the fireworks are amazing!

If you are into autographs, Captain Jack is there and other characters are in their pirate or princess gear.

My DD loved the dance parties but again your sons might be too old.

For my family, I would go again in a heartbeat! For yours, I would be torn but it might be worth it just for the short ride lines and fireworks.

Good luck whatever you decide!

We went last summer and the kids had a blast. Ages were 16 (DD), 13 (DS), 12 (DN), 9 (DN) and 3 (DN). The older kids loved that all the rides were walk on. They rode Space Mountain three times in a row! The youngest enjoyed seeing all the princesses (she's princess crazy). We really liked the special parades and fireworks. We didn't buy a ticket to do the park on the day we were going. We just had a lazy morning, swam and relaxed during the day. We got the gate about 4 pm and were let right in and we stayed until closing. Almost all the rides were open.

Same...
short lines
an extra late nite at MK
DS's love the treasure spots
usually there are more rare characters only at hard ticket events

no one has mentioned the costumes yet!!

The whole family dresses up. This is sooo fun to our kids and they feel like part of the magic even more. The CM's interact w/ them in ther pirate costumes. So many families dress up together!

You just need to get a feel from your kids if it's something they would like.
