I am considering getting a massage on my vaction to WDW and I have never looked in to it. Does anyone know the price range and the best place to go. Also we leave in less than a month would it be impossible to get an appointment now??

Thanks

You can either do the Spa at the Grand Floridian or the Spa at Saratoga Springs Resort. Both my sister and I have done treatments at the GF and we both enjoyed it :cloud9: . I find the prices higher than what you would pay at your local spa but your on vacation . It is an experience. I would suggest going early and relaxing in the jacuzzi and relaxing room. The website for the GF spa is www.relaxedyet.com. I am not sure what the one is for Saratoga. I am sure if you call them they could fax or email the menu to you. Have fun.

the prices for both the Grand Floridian and Saratoga Springs are the same. I prefer Saratoga Springs as it is more spacious.

Unless you are going on a holiday weekend then you may be able to make reservations.

Another one to consider is the spa at the Dolphin, based on my wife's report of her pedicure the facilities are very nice.

I have had a massage at both the Grand Floridian and Saratoga Springs. I have also had a facial at the GF. I preferred Saratoga's spa. It was significantly less crowded, and it just seemed more laid back. Maybe it was a really busy time for the spa when I went at the GF, but everyone just seemed so rushed. The facility at Saratoga is brand new, and absolutely beautiful-very large too! The whole experince was just so relaxing, I would do it again in a heartbeat. I made my appointment 3 days in advance and had my choice of times in the afternoon. I would think you would be fine making a reservation one month out.

My experience was only with GF because Saratoga was being built. Next time I will have to try Saratoga it sounds great!

minniebeth, do you have a birthday or anniversary coming up? They sell gift certificates.

Five girlfriends and I had facials/massages last November at SSR...made out appts. the night before. It was a fun thing to do and the services were all good but not sure I would go out of my way for it again. But i have to admit that I am not a big spa fan so perhaps nothing was going to WOW me in the spa arena!

Disney also has a spa at AKL I booked my wife a massage and a body wrap for the 23rd. They would only take the appointment when we were less then 30 days out so you should have no problem getting in. I don't remember all the costs but hers was a little over $200?

Oh, you know it...it's the BIG 4-0! It's not really the gift of the spa treatment that is the issue, it is getting DH to have the kids by himself in WDW!!!!
But thanks for the tip about the GCs...I will definately have to work on this and drop some hints! :teeth:

Who did you call to book that? AKL or was there a spa phone number you went through? What a great hubby!

I often get a 80-minute Swedish massage at the GF spa. It costs $170 plus I tip 20%. It's a lot of money but I really enjoy going and I make full use of the facility (steam room, sauna, showers, robes, hot tea, etc.)
I do get 10% off one treatment per visit at the GF Spa with my Annual Pass :thumbsup2

I also was looking into a spa visit on our next trip- that happens to be tomorrow! Anyway you can get all the spa info on the Disney site. also www.RelaxedYet.com CS also has some services. Since we're only going to be there 4 days I think I'll try next time. Enjoy!

I've read that either the Swan or Dolphin has a new spa that's supposed to be nice.

Are the "spas" at CSR and AKL full spas or just small treatment areas? I've seen that spa services are offered at several of the resorts, Boardwalk included, but they don't have a full service spa there. I love the SS spa, very spacious and to me a better value for the money than the GF. I felt very crowded at the GF. :cheer2:

I just came back from a wonderful vacation and got a massage at the mandara spa at the Dolphin: www.mandaraspa.com

I have a review of it in my trip report located here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1187838&page=3&pp=15
(it's post # 35 if you don't feel like reading the whole report...but u should! And I am not finished yet...)

This was my first spa experience and I absolutely loved it. The staff was very professional and the prices are pretty good for a nice spa. Have a great trip whichever spa u choose!

I had my first massage ever while at the GF -- very nice, calm and restful. Nice folks. :)
