We are heading down to WDW the first week in December and we are thinking of doing Mickey's Very Merry Christmas one night. My kids are 3 and 5 and I am wondering if they will be too young to make it that long. What do you think? Should we take them along, or should DH and I leave them with the Grandparents and hit the park on our own? :santa:

We personally decided not to do MVMCP with our 3 and 4 yo.

They will be almost 4 and 5... But they get pretty wiped out during the day.
With it getting dark so early, I can't see them making past 9pm.

It is too much to pay $200 for 2 hours of the party.

We also decided not to do it by ourselves and opted to plan a night at Epcot and see the Candlelight Procession without the kids.

I think MVMCP is more geared toward the kids. We figure we will hopefully go back in a few years and go when the kids are a little older...

We took DD to the Halloween party when she was 4. She made it thru the night but we did go to the hotel that afternoon and take a nap beforehand. And she was a to-bed-at-eight-every-night girl. Haven't been to the Christmas party yet to know how that compares but am looking at taking my DD, now 6 and DS, 2, to it this year. My DS is a night owl so I don't worry about him so much:) But we probably will still rest earlier in the day. And watch your activities for the next day.

We went last year with DD, then 2 1/2, and she did not pass out until about 12:15 am. We had a later breakfast at Ohana's that morning, then went back to the hotel for a nap, and were at the park by 4pm. She did spend some time in the stroller relaxing in between rides and watching the fireworks, but actually stayed awake the whole time until we were on Main Street shopping. Hoping she will do the same this year!

We have decided that we will all go to the party. I purchased our tickets today! :santa:

We are going only to the MVMCP on that day and maybe will go see some resorts. And for sure we will be taking a nap before we go:thumbsup2

I have an ADR for Crystal Palace on 12/3 at 3:55 PM and tickets to MVMCP that same night. Will they let us into the park in time to get to our ADR using our party tickets? We were not planning on coming to the parks earlier that day so I don't want to have to "waste" a park ticket coming in early, KWIM?

We are planning on taking our almost 3 year old. We are going on the day we arrive. Right now the plan is to fly in and get settled in our room, rest and get situated then go to the park and spend the evening. Fingers crossed it all works out!! LOL!!

I hope that works for you took my 2 yr old last year when we got there all we heard was mickey mouse even with the other kids trying to get her calm she was still going 90 so we had to put everything on hold to take her out to see mickey mouse then she found Bolt.. I was shocked she gave her blanket to him she never gives it to anyone I have to waitfor her to go to sleep just to wash it..When we are there we cant get anyone to nap they are just go go go (makes days longer )But i learned something i take them some where they have to sit still like in canada and they show that film about it they fall asleep then i guess they get bored so we walk out put them in there stroller and take our 7 and 11 yr old to rides while they nap by the time the day is over we have no problems with them going to sleep that night.Mickeys Christmas Party everyone loved it...

You can enter the park with your MVMCP ticket starting at 4, so you may be a few minutes late for your ADR...

I'm so glad you decided to take the kiddos! It's such a wonderful way to enjoy Christmas celebrations. Just make sure the kids are well rested and I bet they will last a looonnnggg time.

I don't think they'll let you in before 4 but I can't say for sure. Have someone in your party run right to CP and you and the kids meet them there. I wonder what their grace period is?
