Let's talk about duck

We have ADRs at Le Chefs and I am curious about the duck on the menu. I didn't know what "confit" was so I looked it up. EW!!! That said, is the duck good? I used to have the duck ages ago at the Papeete Bay Verandah before it became Ohanas and I loved it prepared that way. Can someone wax poetic about the duck at Le Chefs? I'm not unadventurous as far as food is concerned, but "confit" didn't sound very appealing.

I like eating things on vacation that I can't get in my everyday life, but I don't want to order something and completely dislike it.

My husband orders it all the time from there, he seems to really like it. I have had many different things from the menu, and enjoyed all of them. They change the way they prepare things quit often. I had a great steak inside of a pastry dough that I really liked. Went back a few months later and they were preparing it another way. I like that they keep the menu fresh.....

I've never eaten at Chefs (I have a dinner ADR on my upcoming trip)..but I've had duck confit several times including twice while I was studying abroad in France.

It's really best to never look up how anything is made. Basically the duck is just extremely tender and flavorful. It literally falls of the bone. Delicious!

I'll be ordering it when I'm there and I hope it lives up to my past experiences with the dish.

We had the Duck Two Ways at Le Cellier in the spring, which includes duck confit. Mmmmm, so good!

Yeah, I know! My son's favorite character is Donald; I'll have to order softly if I get the duck!

The duck confit with spicy honey sauce is awesome. Do not be afraid of the "confit"-it basically means the food was cooked and preserved in its own fat. This method was used to preserve food and the result is oh so delicious. Chef's tends to always have a duck dish in this style and I order it every time.

P.S. Don't worry Donald-I still love ya!

I love ducks. They are so cute and cuddly with the little quacks they make. And their cute little duck butts wiggle when they walk.

I know I'm not supposed to feed them, but I just can't help buying some popcorn and sharing it with Donald's relatives.

Both my son and I had the duck at Chefs and loved it. And don't worry, these are French ducks. Donald is American.

I had it at Chefs and it was very good. It wasn't the best duck that I ever had, but it was still well worth it.

We had the duck at Chefs in Aug. I must say I was a little leary of it but my DD really wanted to try it, so all 3 of us had the duck. It was abolutely delicious, moist and tender. By far the best meal we had of our whole trip.

I'd forgotten about that chef - thanks for the reminder! He was a great character in that movie. Takes me way, way back. I wish my kids were still little!
