Let's talk about COFFEE!!!

I'll drink plain old coffee at work, but that's it. I either get a vanilla latte at Starbucks or gind beans at home. Here I use chocolate cherry (yum!!) or Barnie's Sweatheart blend (YUM!!!!!!) :)

We also use the 8 O'Clock Aribica WHOLE BEANS. We found that grinding the beans ourselves makes a huge difference, along with turning off the coffee maker as soon as it's finished, and putting the coffee into an insulated carafe.

We've gotten Gevalia beans as a gift, but I don't like them.

I am a Starbuck's drinker as well. I try different types of beans - usually whatever they are featuring. I fall back on the regular blend .

I too grind my beans for each pot,and have Cuisanart coffee maker that brews it into a carafe, so once it is done brewing it is not sitting on the heating element!

During the holidays I drank Disney blend coffees - they had a pack with 4 sm cans - Holiday Blend, Egg Nog, Vanilla, and Cinnamon something! They were good too - unfortunately pre-ground.

Our Target has a Starbucks, so I always get a coffee before I check out!!

:goodvibes I love my coffee!!!

One coffee snob here ! My favorite is a local company "White cloud mountain" who makes a Sun Valley blend that is perfect! I used to drink only Kenya AA beans, but now I most often buy Starbucks or Seattles Best.
So, who LOVES their coffee maker ? Any reccomendations?

I have the Cuisanart 12 c programmable w/ carafe - I really like it. The carafe keeps the coffee hot for hours.

I want Grind and Brew.

I think I might be willing to try my first grind and brew.....are there any with timers that you could pre-load and wake up too?

 Hi Judy!!

I didn't care for my grind and brew actually. I had a Cuisinart and thought I would love it! I was really sad that it kept breaking then leaking, I finally threw it out :(

I will say though that that was the first year they came out maybe they are better now.

I still love my French Press and then my stove top Perc. but for convenience sake I use my Electric one most often.

ITA about the White Cloud Judy! :)

Thanks for the review.... I will have to research before I buy. I do love my current Cuisinart - so I guess if it's not broke - I should just keep it!!!!

Hands down, for us it is Cafe Britt from Costa Rica. Back in 1998 I went to Costa Rica for 2 weeks, stopped at the Britt Plantation for a tour, and have been drinking the Espresso Roast ever since. We order direct and it is cost effective for us! We highly recommend their coffee - they do have multiple roasts, we found that we prefer the darkest roast (excellent in decaf as well).

We used to be a Starbucks only house, after all we are in Starbucks country, but I found it to be inconsistent from bag to bag. I also had problems finding the kind I liked (Breakfast Blend), and got tired of running around town looking for it.

My friend turned me onto the Costco blend. It's Seattle Moutain or something like that. It is awesome and it's $10 for 2.5 pounds. Only problem is it is only carried at one Costco around here (they roast their own beans there). I've seen the Decaf at the other stores, but I've never figured out what the point of Decaf coffee is!

You can buy the most expensive beans in the store and it's still about how you brew it. It has to be at the right temp, and not take too long, to get all the flavor you are paying for.

Or you can be like my IL's and like it with barely enough grounds in there to change the color of the water.

Want great coffee, then you need to have a great coffee maker too.

Yes. ITA.

Starbucks for us in whatever variety DS's girlfriend brings -- Cafe Verona a the moment. She works for Starbucks and we are the beneficiaries of some of her weekly free pounds. We do grind our own beans.

Starbucks houseblend of breakfest blend. Both are favorites at my house.
