Let's Stay somewhere cheap.... like the Deluxes! (Updated 10/03!)

Hello! So welcome to my first ever trip report. I know Im planning this trip 11 months in advanced, but just the basics of this trip are getting planned now, and in hilarious ways. Some of you checking in might already know of my many instances of head-desking when I try to explain things that seem obvious to me, an avid DIS-er, to my fellow trip mates. But first, the very very basic information the Who what where when and why of this trip!
This first post will be the who:
Me- Elizabeth, who will be 25 and turning 26 on this trip, hopefully, if all goes according to plan. We might need to move the dates around though but more info on that later. Princess fanatic, dog lover, and Disney obsessed since the age of 5.

here come the ones who will not be photographed. Basically, were all terrified of the camera. Youre lucky I even found that photo, even though its at evil IoA. It was me, pre-jaw surgery, and super chubby/ camera shy.

My Mother- Not Disney obsessed, likes to go, but would rather hang by the pool and have some down time. Not on the same page as her commando, must plan every aspect of every trip daughter. I think she only likes Disney because it makes me happy, and she likes seeing me happy, although she is the one who suggested this trip... so i think she secretly loves Disney as much as I do

My Aunt- My mothers twin and my 2nd mother- using this trip to get back at her husband for going out west skiing without her. Thats a WHOLE nother story, but shes super excited although she doesnt want to go to Disney world aka Magic Kingdom. She only wants to go to Hollywood Studios and Epcot. She hasnt been since there was just Magic Kingdom and Epcot, so Im excited to see her reactions


And the potential 4th player, depending- My other Aunt, my moms oldest sister-
Pretty laid back and easy going, were sure shell just go along with whatever we plan, but my mom isnt sure, so shes my wildcard in planning this trip, if she even goes. Itll be her birthday too, as I was born on her birthday! Yay! So Im hoping she comes, because itll be fun!

Go to that first post. Hit the Edit Button.

So where we plan to stay- this is what is giving me the title of this thread. My mom and aunt are ridiculous. So my mom, despite the fact that we are from Massachusetts, have gone to Cape Cod every summer from when I was born til 14 and again from when I was 22- on, dreams of staying at the Beach Club.

I on the other hand, would like to stay somewhere Id never been, which is how we ended up at the Animal Kingdom Lodge last year, as Id never been to Africa. So my moms trip, her resort.
However, she thought the Beach Club might be too expensive, so we thought well hm. We want to stay deluxe, but lets do it cheap. But not AKL again, and I want to be near a park. Ok. So&. Wilderness lodge it is! My mom was super excited that they had boats that went to the Magic Kingdom, and was happy with the theming, but was still sad she couldnt stay at her Beach Club.
My moms twin, my aunt, who I will now lovingly refer to as 2nd mom, was asking about the trip when I went up to visit her last weekend. She all along has been saying I dont care about the resort, I just wanna go somewhere cheap. Its not like well be spending much time there anyways. Her other question was is there kitchen-y type stuff so we dont have to eat as much at the parks, other than at Food and Wine?

So with that in mind, I showed them The Fort Wilderness cabins. Well my Aunt saw the theme of what the Cabins and the Hotel were, and vetoed it, with the explanation that it looked too much like her house in Maine& oh well. Ill try showing them the new AoA suites if they want cheap with a little kitchen area!! Im thinking thisll be a hit. So before I could even load the rest of the pictures, my 2nd mom sees the outside of the Cars buildings.

2nd mom: is that MARS?
my mom :that is so TACKY who would stay at something so overly themed?!
me: your daughter who is staying at All Star Movies in February?

So THAT got vetoed out very quickly&. Meanwhile I want to bang my head against a desk.
So heres the part that gives you our lovely title of the PTR, the one Im sure will carry over for the whole trip. But first, some background.
2nd mom and my other aunt (henceforth just known as aunt) dont have children of their own. Just me, their only niece and my moms only child. How is this related? Well, they travel, a lot, big fancy trips around the world. So I guess theyre used to spending tons of money on hotels, museums, food, etc.

So my mom suggests staying at the Beach Club again, and asks me to price it out with tickets, for 4 nights. Ooook. So I do. I get a quote upwards of about $3.1k. Show it to 2nd mom and real mom. 2nd mom goes oh wow! Thats cheap! I dont know what she was expecting, but I know I wasnt expecting her response!

So I guess now were staying at either the Beach Club, or the Boardwalk, because mom talked to one of her coworkers who loves the Boardwalk, and now shes thinking she wants to stay there. So Im guessing that this trip will keep me on my toes and will keep changing. I went it Oct. of 2011, (where the picture of me came from) and my mother, ever on the search to get the best deal, booked us first at the JW Marriott in Orlando, then realized that wed have to rent a car, and be off site, and is the lazy river really worth it? Then we moved to Shades of Green, which was a great deal, but still didnt have all the Disney touches she was expecting, plus we would still have to rent a car (dunno why, but apparently it was necessary for staying here in their minds). I also was whining this whole time about how I really loved animals and wouldnt it be great if we could stay at AKL. Well finally the parental units discussed, and decided that since it was their anniversary over the trip, why not treat themselves to a Savannah view at AKL. Woo!
The tl;dr version of that? This is why Im doing this pre trip report. My family is insane, and changes their mind a lot.
Though apparently Im guilty of this too. Right after I started writing this update, I went on hotels.com and found an open room at AoA Little Mermaid for our dates, cheaper than what we were paying for All Star Movies. So guess where I get to stay after all! Woo!

Sooooo yeah! Expect more soon, but this is as far as weve gotten right now!

You'll be staying in the Epcot resort area! Fantastic....either BC or BW will be great. Nice that you're staying somewhere cheap.
