What hotel lobby looks like THAT?I wouldn't complain if it didn't remind me of every other new hotel lobby that isn't named Disney

I must be a poor, my non-disney hotels never look like thatWhat hotel lobby looks like THAT?
Trust me. If they didn't own DVC, half the people complaining would ONLY be staying at the Holiday Inn in Des Moines (more likely the Holiday Inn Express for the free breakfast).I must be a poor, my non-disney hotels never look like that
This was my thinking too.My guess is no. If there are opening it to all cash guests on June 5th (with DVC and APs having advance booking for cash) then my guess is sales won't start until after that...I predict July or August....
I mean I’ve stayed at a few incredible properties in Hawaii on hotel points, and I’d say those had nicer lobbies, but we’re talking a Waldorf and a Grand Hyatt on the literal ocean.I must be a poor, my non-disney hotels never look like that
That’ll be $25 per hour…I call dibs on the hammock!View attachment 858339
To me, the pictures of the lobby look great for a DVC lobby. Not quite AK or GF (hotel side) level but much better than most (including RIV).I mean I’ve stayed at a few incredible properties in Hawaii on hotel points, and I’d say those had nicer lobbies, but we’re talking a Waldorf and a Grand Hyatt on the literal ocean.
Will my four grimy kids fit on the hammock at the same time, will we be able to watch the fireworks from there, and will the Dole Whips melt by the time we get there? That’ll be $25 per hour…![]()
You mean like the fact that all of the "authenticity" of the original resort that's lacking in the tower is about 95% Southern California Tiki Culture circa 1964, and about 5% "Polynesia"?Concept art is typically difficult to grasp. These 2+ story vaulted ceilings strike me as more impressive than any Disney Resort in recent memory. In some ways it's reminiscent of Gran Destino Tower, but GDT gives off a more sterile feel than these images, IMO.
Tastes evolve over time. I didn't expect this to look like something that out of 1971. There's plenty of space for Disney to have resorts which appeal to my touch of nostalgia, as well as people who were born 30-40 years after me.
Only if you book 90 days out from your arrival date! That’ll be $25 per hour…![]()
