Is there a thread for this already? If so, sorry and please link me.

Otherwise....I'd love to see people's holiday decorations! Or if you don't celebrate any holidays, do you put up any winter decorations? I'd love to see those too.

We plan to put ours up this weekend so I'll come back and post mine after that. But maybe some of you already have yours up and want to share.

Too soon, Get back to me after Pearl Harbor Day.

Do you always wait until then? Do you get a real tree? I always assume people with real trees probably wait a little longer than us artificial tree folks.

Yes, we normally wait until the 15th, but will be out of town that day. So we will be early this year, my wife has December 9th on the calendar as the day we put everything up. On the flip side, everything stays up until the Epiphany, January 6th. We don't take everything down on the 26th as some do.
I don't recall a date as a kid when we put everything up, I just know my mom said nothing in her house as a kid went up before Christmas Eve because Santa brought all the decorations and gifts then.

TVguy: I don't believe someone else had the same type of Mom and DAD, LOL. They put the tree up on Christmas Eve after we went to bed. They said the same thing: "Santa brought the tree and all the gifts". I thought that as really nice when I was a kid:)
We have an artificial tree that's seen better days, but I stick with it:) We put it up and all the decorations about 2 or 3 weeks before Christmas, and take them down the day after. When Christmas Day is over, it's over for me so I put decorations/tree away. I know most people keep their trees up til Epiphany.

I guy I used to work with never takes his tree down. He is single, and yes it is an artificial tree.
And at my old work place, one of the departments leaves their tree up all year round. After Christmas, they decorations change to the Valentines Day Tree, then the President's Day tree, Easter Tree, Memorial Day tree.......you get the idea.

That's how my father grew up, Santa brought the tree & decorated it. As a kid we never put our tree up before Christmas Eve afternoon, and decorated it that late afternoon/early evening. I would have kept that tradition w/ my kids except my husband grew up in a household that put the tree up Thanksgiving evening - so we compromised and now do it about 10 days before Christmas.

OP - no decorations up yet in our home, but I'll be doing it in the days after Thanksgiving. I don't go overboard though, and only one tree!

We get a real tree and put it up around 1-2 weeks before Christmas. Sometimes I put up other decorations earlier, but no set date, just when we have time. The tree stays up at least until New Year’s Day. Growing up, my family (parents and kids together) put up our tree on Christmas Eve (and usually took it down after Epiphany).

I’m hosting a family dinner on Thursday and currently have fall/pumpkin/Thanksgiving decor throughout the house. I don’t do Christmas until Thanksgiving is over, but to each their own.

Loving all the decorations so far! Typically, we put our tree up in the days after Thanksgiving. With Thanksgiving being late this year, the plan was to put it up a week or so earlier. However....we've all been sick pretty much this entire month. So I'm enjoying seeing people's decorations!

my father's birthday was mid December and mom would not let us decorate until after that date so our tree was only up for about a week and a half before Christmas, down by new years. we normaly do ours the weekend after Thanksgiving but this year we bought a new pre-lit tree and did'nt want to chance opening it over the crazy shopping weekend to find issues entailing an exchange. as a result it's already up but undecorated (I'll do it while the turkey cooks Thursday).

Our decorations have been up since the first week of November.

Here's our living room tree...

And here's our little basement tree. We always watch t.v. down here at night so I like having at least a little Christmas cheer down here....

Here's the living room again, with our stocking hanging above the fireplace.

A close up of a chunk of mostly Disney-related ornaments toward the top of the tree.
