Great pictures everyone!!!

Quicklabs & Pea-n-Me, I loved the pictures that included the Bittersweet!:) That reminds me of the woods near my home when I was growing up.

You guys have inspired me to get out the next good weekend day we get and take some pictures!:goodvibes

I haven't had a whole lot of time to get out there and shoot some foliage. I know a lot of places I'd like to go, but I'm not sure I'll get to it this year.

We did make a weekend trip up to Bangor, Maine for a family wedding and I had a few hours to wander around early on Sunday morning before the kids and DW got up.

These are from along Kenduskeag Stream that runs through Bangor:

To those of you in the Southern New Hampshire area.... are there any good spots to check out that would be a quick trip. I have a few hours on Thursday morning, but I'll have youngest DS with me (2 years old) and have to be back in Burlington, MA by 11:30 to get DD off the bus from school.

I was thinking of heading towards the Nashua area. Any good ponds, rivers, streams or things like that in that area? TIA

A nice Autumn day on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

I like your license plate Bob.

Where were you on the Blue Ridge? I have family in the West Jefferson area. I've traveled down the Blue Ridge from Shenandoah to about the Grandfather Mt./ Lin Cove Viaduct area.

I wish I could be of more help. DH and I took our canoe out on Lake Pawtuckaway yesterday. There is some beautiful color in S. NH right now. I don't know the Nashua area at all and there really isn't anyplace here in Salem that has good public access.
Maybe this park? A river runs thru it and there are lots of trails.

Thanks Susan.

I looked up some photos on line and it looks like that could be the spot for me to head to tomorrow morning. 35 or so minute ride to get there. That could give me a good 1 1/2 to 2 hours to roam around.

Thanks again.

This photo was taken near Little Switzerland, a great place to stop for lunch.

One of the good things about Blue Ridge Parkway is it has a long leaf season due to the great variation in elevation. I bet there will be plenty of leaves left at the lower elevations through the end of the month.

I outrun all the Nikonians! ;)

These are beautiful! There's no place like the Sierras, now if I can just convince DW to go there in Winter... :)

Your picture brought a tear to my eye. We just moved to Texas from NC and I am seriously missing the mountains. We spent last year around this time up at Bear Den Campground and I was able to capture some beautiful and amazing pictures! The Blue Ridge Parkway is a breathtaking drive. Great shot!

Another one from the Blue Ridge Parkway, near Craggy Gardens:

i so love that gold leaf on the blue sky.. there's really nothing like that kind of crisp, sunny autumn day!

(but you can be sure that on the first day it snows i will be waxing poetic about the winter... and come spring i will ooh and ahh over the first blossoms... and that first time of the summer in the lake with the sun burning my face... i'm hopeless really).
