Let's play "Remember when at Universal...?"

we parked within spitting distance of the universal Globe

there was a speed boat show & fireworks in the USF lake

they had HHN in IOA

They had a jaws ride!! (VBG)

I remember walking from the parking lot to Universal studios Orlando and riding the "Tram" tour. I also remember searching the Hanna Barbera store to find something with The Jetsons for my sister.

I loved and still love Universal. I've been there around 4 times, twice with the IOA.

I miss Back the Future and King Kong.

I can't remember Jaws - but I am sure I have been on this when I was much younger (like about 11 or something...I'm now 34).

The new King Kong is going to be amazing though.

I love the Horror Nights.

But I miss when the Horror Nights weren't as massively packed...maybe I imagined that though!

The only thing I'm not sure about is the replacement for Twister and the new F&F ride...both could/should be great, but King Kong is the one I can't wait to ride in Oct 2016 when I return. Disney/Orlando/Universal bug hit me hard when I went in Oct 2015.

No selfie sticks and rude Brazilian tour groups.

I have seen so many changes from opening year, just crazy.

...when the haunted houses at Halloween Horror Nights were based mostly on original ideas.

Anybody remember the festival of the dead parade at Halloween Horror nights.

And it was shaped like a guitar. You can see Bate's motel house in picture, too.

This is a fascinating picture, especially since I never went to UO prior to the opening of IoA. Can someone describe how this picture relates to what we have now? Is the red-topped building in the center the one that used to be right behind the kid's play area at the Studios? That would make the smaller parking lot where Hard Rock now stands. Thanks.

Go to Bing.com/maps and look at the birds eye view of Universal, the building in the middle of the shot is the old Hard Rock cafe restaurant and it's still showing on the bing maps site, you are right about it being right by the kids area and the Hard Rock hotel.I went enough times before IOA and Citywalk that I should remember the whole way you drove in and parked but for whatever reason it's not that clear, here's a video of a car entering from Kirkman rd from the mid 90's.It really is like a different place, the same thing is happening at Disney Springs with all the new construction and parking garages,I have a feeling I'm going to forget how it was before them,it's already also looking like a different place.

Here's a time lapse video of changes to Universal Orlando resort.

Looking at this picture, the bulk of the picture is looking at what now is Kids Zone. The red topped building (with the guitar shaped walk around) is the original Hard Rock Café. The "smaller" parking lot behind it is currently where the Hard Rock Hotel currently stands. The "smaller lot" at the top of the picture is where the bulk of City Walk is not located with the Hard Rock Café being probably just off the right side of the picture.

I miss the feel of the old Universal sometimes. I miss Jaws and King Kong and the Alfred Hitchcock Theater.

I also remember the Xena show. My daughter was a huge Xena fan and loved that!
