I'll change Boma to 1900PF.
FastPass Day!
No hint today - just some boring, actual PTR stuff
Today was our FastPass Day! Hurray!
Except... I've been doing the evening shift at work this week, and we've been swamped with calls (which is good for business but bad for moral), so last night I got home at 10:30. Got a few things done around the place, got into bed around midnight, didn't fall asleep until past 1 cause that's how I roll. My alarm was set for 6 because I had to try and get a shower in because they cut water pressure for the day (great timing). I ended up snoozing until 6:45 and using the smallest of water trickles to wash up, in case you were wondering
All of this to say, tired. And I feel all your West Coasters. I personally preferred the midnight slot better, too. I think the change was made because they have a crappy a** server and it couldn't hold the demand when everybody got on at the same time, so they made it a time that cuts off a lot of people from going on all at once so it's more drawn out.
Anyway, we got mostly all we wanted. Not saying what, when or where, that wouldn't be part of the game
I will say, however, that I am not a fan of the new system. At all.
Some aspects work pretty well. Like, being able to pull up all the times of day for a given FastPass selection is pretty cool. Not being forced to make three FastPasses works well too (well, in Epcot anyway).
The rest, though, is pretty crappy. I was not a fan of having to select everything one at a time, and having to reconfirm my party every time in between.
I also don't like how the system does not recognize what you're already selected, or for what time. If you're gonna give me a conflicting message for picking something from 11:30 to 12:30 because I already have a FastPass from 10:40 to 11:40, then how about you don't give me the 11:30 to 12:30 option?
Oh well. Small grievances.
Overall, it went well. We do have some quick news on the planning front, but I'll be sharing those on Friday.
60 days to go!
Are you sure about that?
(And so the mind games begin)
I thought the same thing about the FP times - don't show me what co flights.
Then I thought it is good to know what is available if you want to move other things around
Maybe they could color code them or something so easier to tell or separate them so you know "other times available that conflict with current plans" or something
You don't scare me!!!
Well... maybe a little...
Maybe I should.........
Nah. I'll leave it as is
Change it to 1900PF. And keep Boma. But take out Coral Reef.
Keep asking me and I'll keep changing them.
Or not.
Fourteen days to go!
Initially we were gonna have to wait until Christmas - then, our countdown almost doubled when we cancelled that trip. And now, we're almost there because we decided to brave the crazy heat of August!
This precious little boy is David Joshua, born on July 5thSo of course we had to make a quick trip to meet our brand new nephew!
She's also a lot more talkative than she was then, and like most kids, says the darnest things.
we've been watching a couple of movies every weekend, and we'll watch one every night throughout the last week before leaving.
this year I've decided not to take up making MouseKeeping envelopes.
We'll write a thank you message on them, along with the time of the trip and our names, and we plan on handing them out to CMs who help make our trip a little more magical![]()
And now, for another hint... (because I've gotta be somewhat consistent, right?)
Two weeks!! That's like.... soon!
That's my life.... except in the span of about a week!![]()
You can't leave that out there like that! Give us an example!
I don't know where you find the time!
I will.... but they'll be plane with "Mousekeeping" on them. That's it.
You're not the first person I've heard of doing that. And I think it's a really nice gesture.
Nah... You can shake things up if you want.
It's your PTR after all!
I know! Technically it's thirteen days til we arrive in Orlando, but since that first night doesn't really count, I'm sticking with fourteen for the time being.
(While sitting on the couch, Elsye looks over at the picture frame that has a baby picture of her with her two brothers)
Elsye: That's Boston, Ramsey and baby David!
Me: No honey, that's not baby David, that's you.
Elsye: But baby David's a boy.
Me: He is a boy, but that's not a boy. That's baby you.
Elsye: That's right, I'm not a boy anymore.
(I guess babies are all boys, but you know, she grew out of that)
Well, we will probably have envelopes still, cause I find that more obvious than just leaving a few bills laying around.
When I say I'm not making envelopes, I mean like...
These samples from our previous trips
We tried it in October 2013, but ended up not handing out that many. The few we did hand out typically made the CMs seem pretty happy, so I'm hopeful it'll be the same this time aroundAnd we plan on taking more time to chat with people so maybe that'll help us hand out more.
It's cool, I shook things up by not updating for almost three weeks![]()
You take that back!
Vacation starts the second I leave the house!
My first foray to Florida (or anywhere, really) as an adult.
I went on a road trip with my best friend.
By the time we got to Florida, he had about a pound worth of change.
Probably something like $8 in change.
Well... who wants to lug that around??
So he dumped it on the dresser in our room and we headed out for the day.
When we got back.... no change!
We thought it had been stolen.
We didn't know about tipping housekeeping.
Ah. Yeah. That looks like work.
I get enough of that at... well... work.
Let me rephrase that
It's really fourteen days until we step foot on property
But yes, as far as vacation goes, for me it starts the moment I clock out out of the office Friday night before we leave![]()
I can imagine that housekeeper's face when coming across all that change, assuming it's the tip, but also like... "Do they hate me?" cause who wants to get tipped in eight dollars worth of change
I think you're either gone or about to leave. Happy Vacationing!!
Her ticker has a week to go.
