If my rebooked vacation was a Disney character he'd be Wreck it Ralph and say "I'm bad, and that's good."

Many of us have had our trips cancelled due to present circumstances. I'm definitely bummed about my 10 Day Disney trip I was leaving for next week. I know many of you that had to rebook must feel the same. More than anything, I'm overworked and I really need a vacation.

I decided to see if anyone else was interested in thinking about their rebooked trips and mention the POSITIVES that are coming from the rebooking. Yes, I am totally aware that our rebooked trips may not happen or may not happen as we hope. This thread is to stay hopeful, encouraging and wish for some magic! Feel free to mention your old and new dates.

Original Trip
My original trip was a 10-day stay at Grand Destino Tower, I had every FP+ you could want at the best of times and some awesome ADR's.

New Trip
My new trip is a 10-day split-stay: 5 nights at Port Orlean's French Quarter and 4 at Grand Destino Tower in November!

Events/Shows
I'm really bummed I won't get to see Villains After Hours, no two ways about it. However, I will be at Disney during the Holidays for the first time! With that, I will be attending Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Excited for that!

Attractions
Right now Cinderella Castle is undergoing construction, fingers crossed I won't see much of it in November.

Spaceship Earth will likely be closed, my original trip would have let me experience it one more time. On the plus side, Big Thunder Mountain will be open when it was going to be under refurb during my original trip!

Hopefully Remy's Ratatouille Adventure at Epcot will be open for November, so I get to experience another new ride (Haven't done either Star Wars attraction or Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway yet!)

Resorts
I've stayed at both Port Orleans French Quarter and Coronado Springs before. But that was before Coronado Springs had Grand Destino Tower. Though I really was looking forward to Grand Destino Tower all 10 days, my wife and I did plan on visiting French Quarter which we loved. So now we get to experience both places without having to go out of the way!

I'm looking forward to seeing the different Christmas decorations. We're hopeful to do a Monorail tour and see the decorations at those resorts as well (when I go there should be at least some up!)

What are some of the positives coming out of your rebooking?

I was supposed to leave for WDW this Saturday. I rescheduled to November. We will be trying out a new to us resort, Coronado Springs in the tower. Also, the Christmas decorations should be up so we can see those again. It is nice to look at the positives of rescheduling.

We were supposed to go to the GF for 8 nights in mid July, we've changed to actually extend our vacation to 11 nights now. We're looking forward to listening to the sounds of the MK from our balcony and actually enjoying the lower crowds.

I was supposed to go to WDW in April (Easter/spring break) for 5 days and 2 days at St. Pete Beach. We were going to stay at Yacht Club. I had our old reliables lined up for ADRs - Biergarten, San Angel Inn, Skipper Canteen, Yak & Yeti. Had a really awesome set of FPs including Runaway Railway.

We've rescheduled for September for 4 days at Yacht Club (no time to go to the beach ☹ though).

The biggest positive I can think of right now is the crowds should be much lower. Some of the crowd calendars suggest this is the best time of year to visit.

I was supposed to leave Monday, also rebooked or November, here's to our trips!

Original Trip
My original trip was Thanksgiving for 9 days and we were staying Caribbean Beach Resort.

New Trip
My new trip is 10 days at Boardwalk Villas and using our points. We will be there from April 1st. Hopefully they don't say April Fools! to this trip.

Events/Shows
We generally go at Thanksgiving. I will really miss seeing the decorations and candlelight processional. I have never seen the WDW at Easter. I have watched vloggers show the beautiful eggs at the Grand Floridian, so I am really excited to see them in person. We will miss Festival of the Holidays, but happy to see Flower and Garden hopefully if festivals are open.

Attractions
Really hoping that Space 220 will finally be open and we can ride Remy's and Rise of the Resistance. Last year ROTR opened 3 days after we went home. So it will be great to see it. Since we are skipping our vacations for 2020. I think we will try to do something special w/ the kids (late teens and above). Maybe the Animal Safari tour with the meal.

Resorts
We had never stayed at Caribbean Beach Resort. It took me six months to remember 1 r and 2 b's in Caribbean, but I will be prepared for next time hehe. I was looking forward to it as we really like the Skyliner. We had booked it as a bounce back last November when we were at OKW.

Boardwalk is one of our home resorts. I love it there, so I am happy to go back.

I was supposed to be at CCV June 13-20th for our "Welcome Home" visit since buying in DVC last February AND it was my youngest DS's HS graduation celebration and I had the BEST ADRs...but it was cancelled before I could make FP+. We "had" tickets to Villains After Hours and I even had custom t-shirts made ... :crazy2:

We have rescheduled the June trip for December 17-23rd and we've NEVER been during any holiday - only June with the family. I'm SUPER stoked about being there for CP and MVMCP and I'm hoping to do BOTH since we'll be there for 6nights (1 night less than the June trip)...I have NO ADRs or FP+s b/c it's too early but it gives me time to plan things out. I've always talked about going for Christmas so I'm excited to see the decorations! (the one big bummer is I haven't been able to re-book back at CCV but I have booked 3 of the 6 nights and have the other 3 nights on a wait list but my 7-month booking window opens up in 11 days so "fingers crossed" I can get a hotel!!)

So after cancelling June, that left me with "extra" DVC points that needed to be spent by Aug 31st...so I hinted to DH about doing a kid-free trip after the youngest (hopefully) heads off to college and he AGREED!! I found a fabulous 1br @ Grand Floridian Villas for 4 nights.... totally, totally, totally excited for that!!! So, I've been booking ADRs and waiting for my FP+ window to open for that trip...
pixiedust:

In the end, I went from 1 trip in June to 2 trips, 1 in Aug and 1 in December....AND DH and I are taking my cousin to Disney for the first time in Feb. so I'll technically be there 3 times in 7 months - I never, ever in my wildest dreams thought that was possible!! :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc

I'm TRYING to stay positive about this....

Trying to think of the upside... We had a 5-day trip in May at the Riviera with the discounted 4-park magic ticket plus water parks and a sweet room discount, fastpasses including FOP and MMRR, and deluxe dining plan with tons of character meals, and I was particularly excited for Flower and Garden festival. Now we have a 3-park trip at Caribbean Beach and at first I was glad of the free dining recovery deal, but the latest news stories suggest no individual character meets will be happening at character dining for a while, so I am slowing shifting my ADRs to non-character ones.

I guess the only real upside is that maybe Ratatouille will be open when we go...

Great idea for a thread, and pretty timely. We were supposed to be down there right now. :( It was 10 days at Poly CL, Villains After Hours, CLFP, all the ADRs we wanted, etc.

Our rebooked trip is in May 2021 which is a long time away BUT we are splurging even more since it's a major milestone birthday for me. 2 weeks, CL split stay of 4 nights at GF (Main Building) and the rest at Poly. GF is a dream resort for both of us and we are really excited about staying there. I'm hoping that the walkway from GF to MK will be finished by then, but who knows.

Love these replies, so many people in the same boat: Should be at Disney right about now, going in 6-12 months instead. Great job keeping positive everyone, I know it's hard. I did this as it was therapeutic for me and I hope it is for some of you as well.

@Shelleyfs Looks like we swapped when we usually go! Flower & Garden is beautiful, and we love the concert series enjoy!

@Avery&Todd What/where is CP? 3 Trips sounds amazing! We'll be taking my sister-in-law for her first trip when we go and it's such a fulfilling experience to give open that world to someone else isn't it?

@MomOTwins My wife and I were so pumped for Flower & Garden too, fingers crossed some magic occurs on your trip and you find all sorts of unexpected pleasures!

@kylenne Sounds like we both had 10 day May trips. Such a long wait but what's great is you'll hopefully be able to really gauge how everything will settle by then and make the most of your trip. We'd have pushed it off a year too but we're hopeful to be bringing our first baby into the world around that time, so we won't be able to go to WDW for a while!

One other good thing about rescheduling my trip from next week to November is the weather. I saw the extended forecast on the Weather Channel for next week for the Orlando area and it is rain, rain, rain. I feel a bit better now about having to reschedule. In 2018 we had the same type of weather while in WDW and it was not one of our better trips. Here's hoping November weather is better.

Original Trip:
We were supposed to be leaving for WDW this coming Saturday for 7 nights with a 2br and 1 studio booked at Kidani (rented points). We were going to do Hoop Dee Doo for the first time so I’m bummed we had to cancel that. And we have several kids that were finally going to be tall enough for big kid rides.

New Trip:
Thanksgiving week for 4 nights in 3 studios at Kidani. It’s a shorter trip and farther away but I love to see the Christmas decorations.

I also have a first trip to VGF scheduled for mid September so we are crossing our fingers that we don’t have to change up any other plans!
