My parents, along with my husband and 4 year old will be on this family vacation in September and Boma is on our list of places we have ADR.

I would love to hear feedback from those of you who have been.
Also, children's options...and experiences, did they like it?

Thanks in advance!
Jennifer

I'm in the small minority when I say I did not like my dinner. But I have to say only tried it once, and I would be willing to go back. I have been to breakfast twice, both times were good, but I don't like the juice.

We love Boma ::yes::. I have a teen who is a very picky eater and he loves it as well. There is plenty of variety for the pickiest of eaters as well as for kids...chicken tenders, mac & cheese, french fries, etc. There are some things on the buffet that are "different", but for the most part, everything is pretty normal and I don't think you will be disappointed. We thought the prime rib was fantastic :goodvibes.

We absolutely love Boma's :lovestruc and make this our long and leisure dinner every trip.. We start out by sampling the 5 different soups and salads the have with a nice bottle of wine, then entree's and the wonderful desserts with a press pot of coffee:thumbsup2 We don't have children, but i seem to remember them having some nice choices for kids..

Here is the kicker, you either love or hate (to strong a word..Dislike) Boma's::yes:: the food can be a little unusual and if you have a picky eater or someone unwilling to try something new or different, this probably isn't for you

We love Boma for dinner! The variety and different flavors are wonderful. Our son loves it as well however he has never been a picky eater and stopped going by the kids sections by the time he was 8 so can't help there.

We stayed at AKL a couple of years ago and had dinner at Boma twice and breakfast three times. Loved it every time. I use their recipe for flank steak marinade at home and it's great. There are options that are a bit on the "different" side, but lots of other options that are more what we Americans are used to, so no one should be disappointed. For breakfast, the breakfast pizzas are great. It's definitely worth trying at least once.

From the POV of a young couple we liked it. It is not on our favorites list, but I would eat there again sometime. I particularly liked the soups. Our main issues is that we are not really buffet people. That said, the food was good and there is a ton of variety. I think most people would enjoy it, it might not be their favorite, but they'll like it.

We did Boma breakfast twice in March/April it was DA BOMB! I have a ton of pics and reviews in my signature.

We loved breakfast so much that we are psyched to try dinner in Oct

Love breakfast there. Great variety, very fresh fruit and omelettes that are fluffy as they finish them in a hot oven.

I tried dinner there once and loved the flavors of everything I tried. But the food wasn't hot enough in temperature for me...not much of a buffet person though. But great flavors.

Breakfast was awesome.
Dinner not so great. Everything tasted sweet to me. The kids options were french fries and fried chicken wings. My kids only ate fruit for dinner. The cookies are really good, I think the three of us ate a dozen of them.

We loved it! I had to drag DH there as he is quite picky, but I think he loved it more than me in the end! Nothing is too different - its all recognisable, just flavoured differently!!:thumbsup2

We had dinner there on our last trip. We really liked the food,(particularly the soups and desserts) and the wine, LOL. But the restaurant was extremely crowded and the noise deafening. We couldn't even hear our waitress, it was so loud. It was way too much after a day at the parks. My DD asked if we could leave because it was giving her a headache.

I wouldn't go there again, just because of the noise level.

We thought the food was a little spicy/different! But, we enjoyed it! Also there were plenty of kid selections for ds! The deserts were great!:rotfl:

we loved the food - great choices esp soups and salads. like others have mentioned - it was very very crowded, noisy and hard to navigate the stations because of all the people.
the kids' station is centrally located and it was a bottleneck area, trying to get to the meats and entrees.
My daughter loved almost everything, but a lot of food was too spicy for her tastebuds and the noise bothered her and she eventually excused herself.
We have already made reservations for our next trip but these adr's were hard to get and we are preparing ourselves for a full-house. perhaps I will call and see how Jiko looks...

For spring break 07 I went with my girlfriends from college and we loved it! It was one of their birthdays so they brought out this cute tray of desserts that said happy birthday. The food was awesome, each of us had something we thought was amazing and had to go get more of. I loved this one soup that I don't remember the name of but it had apples in it!! There was some cinnamon rice or something that was good, everything was really good. We tried everything between the three of us and we all found more than a few things we liked. I am a macaroni and cheese freak so luckily the kid's selection included some cheesy goodness along with some other usual options. I went back this spring with my family and the friends I went with asked me if I was going back to Boma b/c it was one of their favorites!! You will love it!

We had an early dinner (4:30ish) at Boma and LOVED it! We were among the first people seated and were leaving by the time it was getting crowded and loud. Plenty for my non-adventurous child to eat, including finding out she loved the African flatbread. Plenty for the adventurous adults to try, and also satisfied the meat-and-potatoes adult. We also loved the whole buffet concept with kids...go in, eat without waiting for it to be cooked, leave when you are ready.

We really like Boma. The food is different which is why we always eat here. It seams that everywhere else has the same choices of steak and baked chicken or the bar-b-cue. Though this buffet has some standards like chicken fingers and mac & cheese, there are enough interesting dishes to try. The flavors make me think of thanksgiving, a lot of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger etc. Also some savory dishes (I love the sweet/savory/salty combo I can create on a plate.) :thumbsup2 It is more than worth it for us. If you only choose a few things you like, you can eat as much as you'd like unlike menu places where you are stuck with what's on your plate and that's all. I am sure you'll find quite a few things to your liking.

I did not care for dinner! The restaurant is great and service is awesome, I def. want to try Breakfast as that looks great. I found plenty to eat at dinner that I did like including the soup and the desserts but I didn't care for the spices. But is def. worth atry !!

We ate at Bomas in '06 (DH 2DD and I) we loved it. It was a kind of last resort for or ADRS because we couldnt get our first choice. but I am glad that we reserved it, the food was great, and the kids loved it too, they have a choice of all of the buffet just like the adults. Money is worth it....:thumbsup2
