Whenever there is a new season of AI, I find myself driving down the road, singing with the radio, thinking "I would sing this song if I was on AI"

Driving today I heard "Sometimes When We Touch" thought I sounded pretty good....in my own head anyway

What song would you sing if you were auditioning?

I know that certain artists want too much money for the rights to have their songs sung on idol. THerefore idol producers don't allow them to be sung. I know Springsteen is one of them, which is why it was a big deal when Clive Davis called Bruce personally to obtain permission for Taylor Hicks to sing one of his songs in the finale during his season. (He probably actually got him to wave or lower the fee) I think the Eagles may also be on the list of artists who charge too much for the producers taste.

I LOVE this question! I say the same exact thing when I'm in the car!

Mine would be "It's a Heartache" by Bonnie Tyler
or
"Nobody Does it Better" by Carly Simon.

Funny - I can NEVER think of these songs when I'm sitting in a karaoke bar flipping through the hundreds of pages of song names, but I can instantly pick them out when I'm not on the spot.

I propose that we keep this going when they get to the top 20 and have themes. Like if its Rolling Stones week we pick a Rolling Stones song, etc.
