I should have posted this shortly after returning from my last trip in December...

While I did not note the name of the CM that did the following, it is an example of the little things that some CMs do, and it is part of what makes WDW so Magical.

My DW and I were in the MK for the afternoon parade. We were sitting on the curb along Main St. To get the crowd ready (excited) the CMs were milling about and throwing the metallic Mickey confetti. A female CM threw some confetti in my direction and I attempted to catch it. When she saw that I was unsuccessful in catching the confetti, she walked over to me and reached into her bag of confetti and placed a hundred or so Mickey's into my hands.

While it didn't cost WDW much, it is the little stuff like this that makes WDW my destination of choice.

Thanks!! We were there last week and I almost forgot to email disney about our 2 wonderful CM's. I'll do that next. We got Amanda for the second time on Jungle Cruise and she is the best as far as my family is concerned. She is really funny and we were the only ones in the boat who answered/paid attention to her and that didn't seem to bring her spirits down. She does her job well. Second was Kristin in guest services who finally got us checked in for our flight after three tries, then gave us a certificate to fast-pass any line because it had taken so long. She was great.

This is a great thread!!!! I would like to say that I have never encountered a rude CM while at Disney World. I think that they are all wonderful and do a fantastic job.

Great thread!

Luis (not sure I spelled his name right), he was working at MGM, Beauty & Beast. He saw it was my bday and gave us VIP seats. I've never had anything like that happen before.

I just want to say that I appreciate this thread and I'm sure other CM's will too. I'll share a story as well.

I work front desk at YC/BC. A few weeks ago I checked a family into the BCV and they told me it was their first time staying there. I asked if they had a room location preference and they told me to surprise them. I spent a couple of extra minutes finding a room on the 5th floor facing Epcot so they could see the fireworks at night. I didn't really think much about it, just doing my job. The next day I was working at the YC front desk and a lady came by looking for me. She wanted to thank me for giving them the room with the fireworks view. The whole family had watched them from their balcony the night before and loved it. She went out of her way to come and thank me...going to the BC front desk first looking for me, and then walking all the way over to the YC front desk when she found out that's where I was. All just to say "thank you".

Anyway, that made my day. So I just wanted everyone to know that just like we can have a positive influence on your vacation, you can have the same effect on us at our job.

:grouphug: from all of us to all of you(cm;s) :grouphug:

Brian, at the Tusker House was very very nice. He was cleaning tables at the restaurant, and we needed ours wiped, so I went to get him. I noticed he had a hearing impediment, so when he finished I signed "thankyou". (it's just about the only thing I know how to sign). Anyway, a few minutes later I realized my DD didn't have a straw. I asked him for one. He returned with a plastic cup lid, and straw. Not a disposable kind. Then, of course I remembered there are no straws in AK. I was so overwhelmed. We still have the cup, and every time my DD uses it, we talk about how kind Brian was. To top it off, as we were nearing the end of our meal, he brought my DD 6 (!!!) pins. Well I was in tears by that point. After we finished our meal, we searched him out to say thank you again, and he showed my DD how to pin trade. He was very kind, courteous, and considerate. I treasure that memory.

ps, I made sure to go to guest services to report how wonderful we were treated by him.

Disney CM's are wonderful no matter where you are....A couple of weeks ago I took my DD(16) and her friend to NY city to see Phantom of the Opera.. we spent some time shopping. We ended up in the Disney store on 5th Ave. (but of course)..Well the girls were having fun playing with the princess dresses - holding them up in front of them and putting the crowns on..I took a photo of them..well a CM came over and asked the girls what their names were (I thought we were going to get in trouble) and he ended up giving each of the girls a Magical Day certificate naming each of them princess for a day and gave them each a pin of the princess they were pretending to be... so the pixie dust travels outside of WDW to their stores as well...

I was in the France Shop with my PinTrading boyfriend, and he was telling me (in French, we're from Quebec) that I should start trading too, bla bla bla...
A really nice CM came over and gave me one of his pins!!! He told me that I could start trading with that one, and see how I like it!! :goodvibes

Of course, I didn't trade it in (it is Minnie with a camera), and every time I look at it it reminds me of that really nice CM!! pixiedust:
