Let's get this party started!!! 2 weeks of food, pics, and fun!!! **UPDATE 2/20**

I'm trying to enjoy this report. I have to ask. Why do you push your daughter to go on rides she doesn't enjoy? I see your wife not going on certain things. Shouldn't you set the example by going on things you don't like yourselves too? I almost cried when I read the Splash Mtn. segment, That's not fun at all. I understand that fear of being pushed onto something you are totally afraid of. Not cool. Sorry, but I just don't understand.

I feel as though I need to post a reply on Terry n Toni's behalf. 1st let me say they are wonderful parents when I met with them at HS Toni never pushed Tailor to do anything she didnt like nor Alec when it came time for TOT. She sat out patiently with them and then with Tailor for Rockn Roller Coaster and at that point she had never even ever rode that herself. I think if you truly read through the post about Splash Mountain she never pushed her to go on a ride she didnt like, she simply asked her to give it a try and maybe you are misinterpreting her just being humerous when she talks about taking the "Walk of shame" Just after that she states Tailor had loved going on Big Thunder Mountain previously but this time around wasnt having it. So she sat out with Tailor again. Now personally myself and I'm sure a lot of other parents out there have bribed their kids, coaxed them into getting on a ride they are "freaked out" by only because you know once they try it they will love it and if they didnt they dont have to go again. I saw this personally by a mom when we were going on TOT and sure enough her son loved the ride.

They never forced her onto a ride she didnt want to ride, I think maybe you read this wrong...

We get there and start walking through the queue and she all of the sudden realizes that she doesn't want to do this... I try and talk her into it and reason with her to just give it another chance... She starts crying and I end up carrying her for most of the way... We get up to where we get into the boat, and she full on freaks out and grabs ahold of a post and won't let go... The CM says he has to send the boat, which had Terry and Alec in it, and they are so wrapped up in their own conversation they don't notice that Tailor and I are not on the boat... Tailor and I do the walk of shame up the stairs and over the boat tunnel thing and down the other stairs and out of the ride... Tailor starts freaking out again thinking she was going to be in trouble for not riding... I had to calm her down and tell her although I wish you would have tried it, we were not going to let it ruin our trip... I didn't gt to ride Splash at all this trip...

I took her to the little play thing right outside Splash and waited for Terry and Alec...

Then this is my second part to point out no forcing to go on a ride existed...

From there we rode Big Thunder Mountain Railroad... Tailor loved this ride last year and rode it at least 6 times... This year she decided she hated it and I never got to ride it again either... Do you see a pettern forming here at all???

Keep up the GREAT Trip Report Toni & Terry!

I have been thinking on how I was going to respond to this, so hopefully I get my thoughts out the way I intend to...

I am not sure where you got the idea that we "pushed" her to go on a ride... We encourage our children to try things... You do not know my child... If she would have gotten on the ride, I am positive she would have enjoyed it. The only part of it she didn't care for last year was the getting wet, we had a poncho for her to wear this time... I am not sure if you actually read the entire post or not, but at the end of part 3 and the beginning of part 4 I stated that it was Tailor's idea to go ride Splash Mtn... Once we were already most of the way through the queue was when she started getting nervous...

I am not sure if you have read through all of our updates or just decided to judge us based on that one segment... Let me lay it out for you...

These are the rides that she did not want to ride, and therefore I sat out with her and did other things...

Splash Mountain
Big Thunder Mountain (loved it last year, hated it this year)
Test track(also loved it last year, hated it this year)
Mission Space (not that I mind this one!!)
Kali River Rapids
Expedition Everest
Tower of Terror
Rockin' Roller Coaster(I actually think she was still a half inch too short for this but we didn't even measure her since she didn't want to ride it)

You make a comment that you see ME not going on certain things and I should set an example and ride things that I do not like too...

Exactly which ride did they all go on that I didn't?? The only thing they did without me is It's Tough To Be A Bug... 3D has always made me quesy... And I am terrified of spiders and snakes... It is something that I actually worked very hard to over come this trip and I tried PhilharMagic and Honey I Shrunk the Audience... I loved PhilharMagic, but HISTA I did not do well(SNAKE)...

Any other time I sat out was because I was with MY DAUGHTER!

It seems to me by your statement that you "know the fear to be pushed into something you are totally afraid of", that something in that segment opened a wound for you... While I am sorry that you have had issues in your life with that, I find it completely uncalled for that you think it is acceptable to pawn that off on my family... I have thousands of pictures from this trip that proves my daughter is not an unhappy child and that she had a great time... Just ask her, she will tell you... She will also tell you that she didn't ride Splash and we were not mad at her...

Your opening sentence states you "are trying to enjoy this report" and in my opinion you should not have to "try" to enjoy a trip report... You either enjoy it, or you don't and if you are not enjoying this report, you are welcome to find another...

Day 8 Part 1...

Our wake up call was set for 6:45am...

We all got up and showered... We caught a bus at 8 headed for DHS, once we arrived there, we headed straight for the boat dock to Beach Club...

Here are some pics that Terry took from the boat...

We arrived at the Beach Club and got checked in for our breakfast at Cape May Cafe... Breakfast was good, but not our favorite... Glad we tried it though! Terry had a great conversation with the family next to us about cameras...

After breakfast, I had a plan! Scary, I know... I wanted to take some family pictures at the resort... Terry had brought the tripod so we set! We ran into a photopass guy right outside the entrance to the resort so we graced him with our presence and allowed him to photograph us... :snooty:

We took a stroll over to the beach and found a swing and decided to get a few shots of the kids...

Here are a few family shots Terry got around the resort...

We headed to the boat launch to get back to DHS... From there we took a bus back to Pop... Terry and Alec got ready and headed to Typhoon Lagoon while Tailor and I had some Mommy/Daughter time... Why she chose to hang out with me to do laundry is beyond me, but secretly I was glad because tonight was our MNSSHP night and I wanted her to rest for a bit... We found a movie on and cuddled up on the bed and rested... We got 3 loads of laundry done! :woohoo: Told you I was a laundry freak..

Tailor had her entire day made when we were on our way back to our room and a housekeeper offered her a balloon out of a room that checked out! Score for Vic! :cool1:

Terry and Alec made it back to the resort about 4:30... Tailor and I were ready to go, so the boys got ready!

Next Up... MNSSHP!!!

Again, I know i keep repeating myself by the pictures are Amazing....a great idea to take the tripod and get some family shots:thumbsup2

Great family pictures! Tailor's dress is so cute!

Your family pictures are gorgeous!!! Nice job!

Thanks! I was pretty pleased with them...

Again, I know i keep repeating myself by the pictures are Amazing....a great idea to take the tripod and get some family shots:thumbsup2

It was way cheaper than paying for the private photo session through Disney! :thumbsup2 Besides, if he is going to spend the money on the camera stuff, I might as weel get the perks, right??? :)

Awesome family pictures!

Thank you!

great pics of the family around the Beach Club and Boardwalk!

Thanks Jordo... You were suppose to be with us that morning, but you didn't want to wake up so we let you sleep in...

Love the family pictures. I'm also from Oregon. I still have family living in Salem.

Oh wow! How neat that you have family here... It rained so much today that the back of Terry's truck looks like a pool!

Great family pictures! Tailor's dress is so cute!

Thank you! I actually picked that dress up in like March of this year, knowing I wanted to do a photo shoot... I came home with it and Terry looked at me like I was on crack... :confused3

Day 8 Part 2...

We jumped on a bus to head to Magic Kingdom... It was time for MNSSHP!!! First thing we did once we got through the turn stiles was EAT!!! Cosmic Ray's it was...

Terry and I split a chicken and rib combo, Alec, I think had chicken nuggets... Tailor had salad... She loves veggies and will order a salad if you take her to McDonalds... Although she is becoming a chicken nugget and french fry fan...

Our plate of yummy food...

Tailor danced around in her gown...

4094241850_2f0379ba2b_b.jpg

After our meal we went to Toontown and the boys did the Barnstormer, Tailor had wanted to try it but decided at the last minute that she didn't want to ride it after all, so her and I went into the huge gift shop and filled a Potato Head box and also the My Little Pony Box... We had them sent back to the resort so we wouldn't have to carry them around all night...

We started our trick or treating in Toontown at 7, and on our way we ran into Porturican and family... I can't say enough about her and her family, we just loved them and I feel like I made a true friend, I still talk to her and I can't wait to see her again! Terry has family that lives very close to her, so we are going to make that happen!

Our first trick or treat for the evening was with Alice...

4094242162_ee3698f48e_b.jpg

We continued down the trick or treat path and got a ton of candy! We made our way through Tomorrowland and made a beeline out of there when we started smelling a very strong smoke smell... Then we knew it was time to get out of there when we saw these guys!

Those pics are not good, we had to photoshop them a lot! It was getting dark at this point and he had to snap the pics fast since the guys were on the move! But you get the point... We never did find out exactly what was on fire but we know it was coming from Stitch or very close to that... The firefighters went in with their axes...

A few more pictures that Terry snapped while we walked across the park...

We beat feet to Adventureland and the kids rode the Magic Carpets...

4093482901_2d8097a1b0_b.jpg

They wanted Daddy to take one more...

4094245772_5a5397c282_b.jpg

I don't know where the kids get this stuff!!! :confused3

We did some more trick or treating around Adventureland and I swear our bags were almost full! I had made the kids the larger canvas bags and Terry and I dumped the plastic one in there just to keep them from being heavy... Well, I swear toward the end of the night that the CM's must have thought we just had not gotten very much candy because they were filling the bags!!! We brought home so much candy one of our carry on suitcases just had the canvas bags in it!

We rode POTC twice... Terry only took a few pics this round, he was trying to just enjoy the evening and not be obsessive with Bertha... :rolleyes1

4093483607_a63c8a0ebb_b.jpg

Apparently Jordo got in trouble for something while we were riding cause we found him like this...

4094246440_7dc34eb6be_b.jpg

You cannot take this guy anywhere, I tell you!!! After we bailed him out, by the way, it cost a lot of Disney dollars to bail him out and he has yet to pay me back... :rolleyes1

We decided to take the kids to one of the dance parties, they loved it last year and we have great video from it... By this time Tailor had taken her gown off...

It was time to head to Main Street!

Next Up... Hallowishes and the parade!

The party looks like alot of fun!

did you ever find out what was on fire?

The picture that terry took of the Crystal Palace is awesome!

The pic of the Magic Carpets...priceless. I'm laughing all by myself at church right now.

I still wish I had a body like that..;) Oh wait I NEVER had a body like that.

all caught up again:thumbsup2 I am lovin the MNSSHP pictures....I have my doubts that it is something that I will get to experience as the fall is prime hunting seasong for....well, EVERYTHING apparently and not a good time for DH and DS. I keep telling them that as soon as Tyler is aloud to take a week off school for hunting (I think when he's 12 was the deal he made with DH and he's just 6 now) Emily (DD4) and I are taking our fall trip to Disney and they can stick it in the dead Deer! But until then, I am enjoying your pictures and adventures!

Great pictures!! I love MNSSHP!! Thank you so much for sharing those with us. We are going to try to go to a party this fall.

Hey everyone... It has been a long time since I have ben on here... i am going to try really hard to get some more pictures up soon... we have been so busy around the house and with family stuff, and I haven't had time to stop, but maybe this weekend i can get the next day or 2 posted...
