At the end of January last year they releases the information about the Halloween festivities on board for the fall. Here we are at the end of February and we have yet to hear about this year's Halloween activities. Arg.

(I haven't got a question or anything useful to say, just looking to commiserate with others waiting to hear about all the ghoulish delights that may await those of us cruising this October.)

I've been dying to hear about the dates as well! I'm booked in September without even thinking about Halloween. If they keep the same dates as last year, I'll be on the first Halloween sailing. One of my girls loves Nightmare Before Christmas! She would be more excited about meeting Jack than any of the princesses!

I booked for this October just because I like cruising in October. I'm really not crazy about all the Halloween stuff. It's okay, but don't really care for it. What I really dislike (from pictures from this past October) though is the fact that they put all of the jack-o-lanterns in the large port holes on Deck 3. I don't like that they obstruct the view out of those lovely port holes.

Our cruise on the Wonder is from Sept 27-Oct 1. Didn't occur to me until I read this thread that there might even be some Halloween stuff on board??

I was the same way when I booked! I never thought that Disney would start Halloween events as early as they do. I bet your cruise will have Halloween events and decorations!

I'm looking forward to details also! My wife and I cosplay at conventions so we'll be fully prepared for both pirate night and Halloween. We did one of the Halloween cruises in 2013 on the Dream and had a really nice time on it. The special activites were fun and it was a great chance to get "professional" shots of our costumes on the ship.

We're doing a Fantasy 7-night in October, so I hope they still do the Halloween activities this year!

this is me as well. we like to sail october and don't mind the halloween stuff because we can avoid most of it but the window decorations hit me as tacky. we cruised last october with our two grown children and their partners. i mentioned my feeling on our first day and both of my children disagreed and thought the pumpkin window decor was great so i guess its to each their own.

Yes! Me, too! I'm almost tempted to bring some of my cosplays to get some good pictures of them. Ha!

I confess, I'm already working on my costume for Halloween this year (which isn't Disney-related but I've been planning since before we booked the cruise).

I called DCL and on the phone they said that the first Halloween cruise on the Dream is Sept.7. Now I also emailed them and they said the dates have not been released. Who to believe??? I guess just wait and see

When they said Sept 7, they were probably looking at last year's information, which is still up on the page:

That one got me too in our cruise thread for the Sept 14 sailing.

I was thinking that too. What I don't know is did last years and this years 4 day cruise on the Dream were they both on Sept 7????

I believe there really is a four day THIS year on the Dream starting on the 7th too, yeah.

We went on one of the Halloween cruises last year and loved it! Dressing up was so fun. I dressed up as Ursula and it was really fun getting my picture taken with Ariel. She never broke character.

I didn't think the decorations were too in your face but there were the pumpkin decals on the windows on the third floor. But overall it was really fun.

yes this year there is because we are going on it. Last year was there a 4 day cruise that started on Sept 7 ?

I booked September and it didn't occur to me until my group mentioned it on facebook. Now I'm eager to confirm that our sailing will be one. I love Halloween!

Waiting here too.. we are booked for Sept 11. I'm sure it will be, but I almost hope not. I think its too early for Halloween, and IMO a three day is going to be hectic enough without the added festivities. I too do not care for the way they cover the port holes.

We went on one of the Halloween cruises last year as well and it was one of our best cruises ever. We all love Halloween in our family and to combine it with our other love, cruising, made it just amazing. Loved the pumpkin tree, and loved the portholes especially! The activities were fantastic. We're hoping to do it again this year!

Disney starts the Christmas festivities in early November and that seems early to me (we were on the Fantasy one year for my friend's birthday on November 11 and the ship was all decorated with the tree etc); but people enjoy it so it's the same with Halloween for us.
