Not something that was written in order to please me. It's the artist's creation, they're just sharing it with me. It doesn't matter one speck what I wanted the art to be or what I think it should be. It's not mine. There's an AMAZING photographer (maybe deceased now?) named W Eugene Smith, and I found a really sweet quote by him the other day:

"An artist must be ruthlessly selfish."

So true. If we don't write music for ourselves, then it's not real. Sorry I veered off on a tangent a bit...

HSB: Where do you see the band in five years?
Pouyan: Hopefully touring with Michael Jackson. I think that would be awesome. Scary Kids and Michael Jackson would be a great combo.

This interview was the first thing I thought of when I heard he died...lol...then Hunter's twitter update, and my friend who I was annoying the night before, lol.

Watching Phineas & Ferb...

I got £1 for doing a survey. Gotta get it onto Paypal somehow...

The only thing scary about these kids is how hard you'll be laughing at their hilarious stories from the road — and their hairstyling tips.
YOU RECENTLY TOURED IN THE U.K. — WAS IT DIFFERENT PLAYING FOR THE AUDIENCES THERE COMPARED TO HERE?
Pouyan Afkary: Yes, here we have an audience! It was our very first tour in Europe. In the States, we've been touring for about four-and-a-half years, so we've been able to build that root audience. Out there, we're introducing ourselves for the first time. Basically, there, we're trying to get them to hear of us, whereas here we're playing to people who actually came out to hear us, which is much cooler.

ANY CRAZY ANTICS WHILE YOU GUYS WERE ABROAD?
Steve Kirby: I started running and passed out while I was running. And I ended up breaking my nose.
Pouyan: He was running from me!
Steve: He was trying to film me while I was peeing. So I kept walking further away.
Pouyan: You were also running away from people throwing glass bottles.
Steve: Mainly, I was just running back to the bus and I fell.
Pouyan: Blacked out, mid-run.

IF YOU COULD HEADLINE YOUR OWN ULTIMATE TOUR AND INVITE ANY MUSICIANS, WHO WOULD YOU BRING?
Pouyan: Michael Jackson. Justin Timberlake. God's doing an acoustic set. Guitar challenge with Satan. On Guitar Hero, though. Chad has Rock Band — we all play drums. I think we'd all rather play drums.
Steve: Guitar's boring on there. Guitar's too easy an instrument anyway, just in general.
Jamie Etheridge: It really is — it's just strings. And you press your fingers down.

ARE PEOPLE EVER SCARED OF YOU BECAUSE OF YOUR BAND NAME?
Pouyan: I highly doubt that anyone would be scared by us.
Chad Crawford: Our band name came from a song by Cap'n Jazz. I saw that and I was like, "That was sick!" I just told them, this is it. And they were all like, "Sure."
Pouyan: Chad secretly printed all the CDs with that band name on them and we were like, "Well, great."

AND POUYAN, WE MUST KNOW — WHAT DO YOU USE IN YOUR HAIR?
Pouyan: Conditioner and shampoo. Brilliant Brunette is a great compromise if you're not afraid to lose some product. There's a very basic one. You love Brunette Goddess, if I'm not mistaken, right, Steve?
Steve: Brunette Goddess, yeah. But I'm Back to Basics right now.
Pouyan: Right. With Brunette Goddess.
Steve: No, Back to Basics is, like, a nice shampoo.

Lol.

The girls score is now the square root of pi, while the boys still have a crudely drawn picture of a duck. Clearly it's still anyone's game!
